July IVF/ICSI/FET

I didn’t see a thread for July IVF yet. I am due to start stims around 18Jul with estrogen priming starting the week before that. Collection will be the end of July all going well.
This will be my second IVF and I will be using ICSI. I will be 40 during treatment and 41 come collection. I have a child from my first IVF 3 years ago. Since then I had a chemical pregnancy Dec 2024 with my only other embryo from my 2022 cycle and a failed IUI in Feb this year.
I found the discussion board really helpful and supportive in my first IVF round as we all understand the crazy ups and downs of this rollercoaster. Wondering if there are any others with similar timing?

I was due to start stims today but my period never started yesterday so the clinic told me to stay on the estrogen for today and they will get back to me with next steps. It’s so frustrating as I just want to get started but hopefully something happens today!
@FridayFinch welcome, best of luck for collection tomorrow. Are you happy with your follicle numbers? I’m worried I get many with my age and AMH/AFC but as they said it’s quality over quantity
@RainbowFluff 5 on the go is great. I know the drop off is horrible. I had 4 fertilised on my first cycle at 38. I got 2 day 5 blastocysts - one of them is my little girl so hopefully you are a similar outcome- it really only does take one.

Anyone else's belly bruised up from the injections. Iv got a couple whelts and some have turned into big bruises. The joys!!
We are away this weekend, hubby and I, on our own, no kids. It was my birthday on the 17th and my sons due date on the 16th, so we decided this year for my birthday we would go away for the weekend and have some alone time and go to a nursery to buy a tree to plant in memory of our angel baby. Currently waiting for room service and just got off video call with the kids.

Still no period? Hate when that happenes. I missed an entire cycle while waiting to start stims and then they came at bad timing so had to start the pill. Hopefully they arnt too far away for you. I found the lead up to start ivf is such a long impatient wait but once you get started, it goes by so quickly.

Well my period finally arrived so my clinic gave me the go ahead to start stims tonight! How crazy are we all to be excited to start poking ourselves with needles 😂

@DeeKel I had 7 follicles, which I was slightly disappointed with as had 15 when I did my investigative tests. They got 5 eggs today, which is around what I expected from 7 follicles - I’m just really glad it wasn’t one or none!

@Splishsplashsplosh93 thanks for the advice, am trying to get as much coconut water down me as poss! I did have the trigger injection, I just won’t have the lutéal support doing a freeze all. My clinic is Care too - Leeds - they’re also open on a Sunday, although that’s for updates and for implantation, not EC. Apparently they only close on Christmas Day and New Years Day!

@FridayFinch so glad you got 5, now fingers crossed they continue to develop for you! I know this 5 day wait is hard so try keep your mind busy and take care of yourself after EC.

I got the all clear today to start cycle 2 of my dual stim so I’m back with the needles again! I’ve frozen 5 day 3 embryos as well, 4 top quality which is excellent news. Very rare I have a good call from an embryologist. But still they are no better than some of our previous that didn’t make it to day 5 so hoping the early freeze will help as well.

congratulations on your egg collection @FridayFinch. I hope you recover quickly. I’ve been walking a lot with this cycle and it’s really helped my bloating to go down.

Hello everyone! My name is Élodie , happy to meet you all! I had an embryo transfer on the 15th of July, On a medicated cycle. I took a FRER test tonight, I don’t know why… and got a faint faint line within the 10’. I am scared of a false positive, I have seen so many online. What do you think? That is definitely a positive test. Everything is xd for you that it progresses well on OTD.

I got home this morning from a weekend away with just the hubby for my 40th. was definitely gone too long. Im now trying to sort the house, get uniforms washed and get the house back into some sort of order before tomorrow morning. Just sitting for 5 minutes with my youngest while she has a nap. She contact naps still. But tomorrow is my first bloods and scans for this cycle. I have to be at the clinic at 8am so means I need to sort something with the kids that need to go to school and sort something out with the younger kids for while im in my appointment. The struggle is real. The clinic is a 2hr drive one way, as long as i dont hit traffic .

Not so great news from this mornings scans. Just waiting on blood tests results to come back for next steps. The nurse said my follicles havnt grown as much as they would like to see for first scan but this new nurse i got didnt give me rough follicle sizes or anything but she did say its very likely I wont be having an epu on friday. Im back on Wednesday for more bloods and scans. Hopefully better news.

@Miraclemuma03 im so sorry that has happened. It’s really frustrating that she didn’t give you any numbers as there is no knowing what you are looking at and if there is a chance that things could improve at the next scan. Hope you are doing ok.

Sorry @Miraclemuma03 - it’s so hard for you with no info! Also to get disappointing news after a 2hr drive seems so unfair - I can’t believe your clinic is so far away, that makes everything that bit harder at a time when you just need things to be easier

Heard yesterday 2 of our 5 eggs fertilised - so not amazing, but also better than one or none - which is what I was really worried about, obviously. Roll on Thursday to see if either of them have developed nicely 🙈🙈🙈
