July IVF/ICSI/FET

I didn’t see a thread for July IVF yet. I am due to start stims around 18Jul with estrogen priming starting the week before that. Collection will be the end of July all going well.
This will be my second IVF and I will be using ICSI. I will be 40 during treatment and 41 come collection. I have a child from my first IVF 3 years ago. Since then I had a chemical pregnancy Dec 2024 with my only other embryo from my 2022 cycle and a failed IUI in Feb this year.
I found the discussion board really helpful and supportive in my first IVF round as we all understand the crazy ups and downs of this rollercoaster. Wondering if there are any others with similar timing?

@Pinguino24 it’s stressful watching the numbers but try not to worry. I often find they grow a lot between trigger and egg collection, and you’ve still got time for them to grow more before then as well.

Had great news today. Its a good ahead for egg collection on friday. Having the trigger shot tonight at 8.30pm. Looks like though il have to do it myself so not looking forward to it and im trying to work out what to do with the toddlersaureses. Fingers xd it all pans out hahah

@Miraclemuma03 oh thats great! You’ve had a hard week not knowing what the situation is after the nurses comments. I’m so happy to hear it’s go! Best of luck with the trigger shot and I’ll be eagerly awaiting news on how your egg collection goes- hoping you get some good mature eggs!
I’ve been on stims 5 days now and I’m just hoping there is something to work with. Was a little bloated yesterday but not as bad today. I’ve a scan Friday to see what we looking at numbers wise. Fingers crossed!

Morning all, I start Stims today but only have a scan booked in for next Friday (day 10) is that normal?

I’m on day 10 of downreg (Buserelin) before a FET and my period is 5 days late 😣 anxiously wishing it will arrive so my transfer isn’t delayed or cancelled!

@DeeKel fingers are tightly xd for decent numbers. I think i have 6 follicles on my right side that are suppose to be decent but not much happening on my left side which isnt a shocker. I usually get around 5 eggs, il be happy if I get 3 embryos to work with. The bloating is something isnt it, my clothes are tight around my belly and its not comfortable.

That’s great news @Miraclemuma03, so glad you can go ahead for Friday. I’ve just had my egg collection. Got 4 eggs..which wasn’t unexpected, but still feels so scary with so few to lose. Gosh it’s nerve wracking trying to get to each stage isn’t it 🫣 xxx

@RainbowFluff Thanks so much. I know that they can grow at different rates, so just anxious to see how they are going at my next scan tomorrow. The nurse said they may just extend the stims for an extra day or two. I'm hoping they stay in a little group rather than one or two getting too far ahead of the others!

@Hopeful786 That does seem like a long wait. I'm not sure what kind of protocol you are on. I have done two rounds on a short protocol and my scans were on day 4, 7 and 9 of stims. Might be worth asking your clinic about, in case they meant to schedule an earlier one. I find my clinic can be really chaotic, so you sometimes have to ask!

@DeeKel I’m on day 5 of stims as well! Yesterday they thought they could see 9 follicles but didn’t measure them, I have another scan tomorrow. I’m so enormously bloated as it hadn’t gone down yet from my cycle last week so now literally nothing fits.

@Hopeful786 It is quite late as I’ve had 4 cycles and always ended up triggering on day 10 so it might be that you are ready by then. Some clinics will adjust the dose depending on how the follicles are responding but not all do. If it’s the same dose regardless then hopefully you’ll only need one or two scans before you’re ready.

The bloating can be intense, I was busting out my clothes in work by yesterday afternoon. It’s not been as bad today but I’ve had some really intense headaches. Drinking at least 2L water a day so hopefully they ease up soon.

@Bloop123 i found the 5 day wait to see if you have anything after everything you put yourself through to be very hard. My clinic gives an update on day 1 to let you know fertilisation numbers and then they don’t tell you until you get to clinic day 5 (if it’s fresh transfer and you find out if there is anything to transfer) or else day 6 if it’s a freeze all. It’s so hard so stay strong!

@RainbowFluff oh 9 follicles is good, I hope your scan goes well tomorrow. I can’t even imagine how bloated and uncomfortable you are having not had a chance to reset from the last cycle but fingers crossed it will all be worth it.

@Pinguino24 I am on long protocol and on the highest dose for Merifort, Ive asked the clinic if I will get additional monitoring and they said they will see after 1st August, just seems along time away for the first scan. Did my first stimms injection today, it was more painful than the down reg meds 😣

@Splishsplashsplosh93 thank you, I dont think im at risk of OHHS with my low AMH so hopefully be ok x

Each step is like a little bit of a cliff hanger. And loads of waiting around for next steps. Congrats on getting some eggs and making it to this point.

Iv gained a kg in bloat hahaha hopefully that subsides after the ec. Definitely cant afford to put on more weight. Im finding im now wearing over sized tshirts because my clothes are too tight. Probably isnt helping that iv snacked on maccas wraps for brekky on my clinic mornings. Im definitely not drinking enough water through the day and still drinking 3 coffee a day. I need to get on top of this.

Because my egg collection is on a friday, im not going to know absolutely nothing until the monday. Thankfully this weekend is decently full to keep me occupied. Have to go formal dress shopping with one of my older daughters, the dress shop isnt too local so that will take up most of my Saturday and then on sunday im taking one of my younger daughters to an agistment to meet the new foal I bought for her a couple of months ago, she doesnt know, but the little girl has just been weaned and I took ownership last week. That will be a full day event lol so hopefully with those things going on my weekend will fly by . Not that I like to wish time away. But it will keep my mind off ivf for for a while

@Hopeful786 meriofert does sting, doesn’t it! I’ve not tried ice or anything like that but I think some people do it. I found the last couple weren’t as bad so maybe you get used to it?
