July IVF/ICSI/FET

I didn’t see a thread for July IVF yet. I am due to start stims around 18Jul with estrogen priming starting the week before that. Collection will be the end of July all going well.
This will be my second IVF and I will be using ICSI. I will be 40 during treatment and 41 come collection. I have a child from my first IVF 3 years ago. Since then I had a chemical pregnancy Dec 2024 with my only other embryo from my 2022 cycle and a failed IUI in Feb this year.
I found the discussion board really helpful and supportive in my first IVF round as we all understand the crazy ups and downs of this rollercoaster. Wondering if there are any others with similar timing?

Either way, good luck and I havne everything xd for a successful transfer and a sticky little bean.

ALittleExpressive · 16/07/2025 07:16

Thanks, sincerely, all. Your kindness and understanding words really do have a supportive effect.

@RainbowFluff really sorry to hear about no blasts on your last two cycles. That really sucks. I'm hoping this protocol will help you get a better ratio of blasts to eggs. I would imagine you're so sick of stims.

@DeeKel oh bud, those are such kind words. You must be at a loss as to why your first kid came to be, but now you're facing hurdle after hurdle. I see you're starting stims any day now- you got this.

@Hopeandfaith1990 hope you're enjoying your break in Spain! Prioritising rest before your FET is such a good approach.

@magpie234 oh bud inaction drives me crazy too! I hear you! I really appreciate you having context for how I feel this week, having gone through this. Best of luck with your consult today and I look forward to hopefully be on the transfer journey with you again next month.

@Timetotryagain how are you feeling? How're your symptoms- any more magnfied? How's the pregnancy diet going? Excited for your journey.

@Miraclemuma03 oh my goodness, that's a really difficult journey. Thank you so much for sharing. It really does demonstrate cycles can just go any which way. Hoping your stims are doing the job this round and that each attempt brings you and your doctors a little more context.

@PlanBFertility how's your pregnancy going? Thinking of you and hope those strong lines are giving you some comfort.

@Splishsplashsplosh93 PUPO! How exciting! Really pleased for you and wishing you all the luck in the world on the 2WW. Rest up and take care.

@ALittleExpressive thank you 💕 its OTD today and got pregnant 2-3 on clearblue so about to call clinic! I am having a little but of nausea when hungry and increased heart rate but other than that i still feel pretty okay (i think it was 6 weeks it kicked in with my now toddler!)

Have you had a debrief with the clinic?

@Splishsplashsplosh93 fingers crossed for you! My clinic never did any blood tests so i never knew what any of my estrogen or progesterone levels were at any point

RainbowFluff · 16/07/2025 08:26

EC is all done, I’ll catch up with everyone’s news when my brain comes back after the sedation! They got 13 eggs somehow, despite only seeing 6 on the scans. So I guess I’m going ahead with dual stim, unless they advise otherwise.

Timetotryagain · 16/07/2025 08:27

@RainbowFluff 13 is amazing!!!! They must have been hiding haha! Have a nice rest now today

PlanBFertility · 16/07/2025 09:41

Wow well done @RainbowFluff

Happy OTD @Timetotryagain

My OTD is tomorrow. Little one is still sticking on, lines been progressing nicely over last 4 days ❤️❤️

Miraclemuma03 · 16/07/2025 09:52

@Timetotryagain great news and congratulations again. Its weird they dont do beta bloods over there. Our clinic dont accept hpt as a positive or negative, only the blood test and your hcg number. At 14dpt they like it over 100.

@RainbowFluff wow 13!!! Thats incredible, especially since they only saw 6 on scans.

@PlanBFertility awesome that your little bean is still hanging on in there. Positive thoughts for a long, un eventful 9months full of love and joy.

@Splishsplashsplosh93 i have the pesaries and i am using them rectally - no mess! I did that with my last pregnancy too

@Miraclemuma03 yeah it seems every other country does betas!

VioIetMoon · 16/07/2025 12:20

@Splishsplashsplosh93 I'll be using crinone gel. Thats what I used on my last ivf cycle aswell. Ooh I really don't fancy the pessaries.
The gel isn't messy at all, it has an applicator that you insert then squeeze the gel out. I've never had any leaks

DeeKel · 16/07/2025 12:57

@RainbowFluff 13 is brilliant- well done you!!
@Splishsplashsplosh93 i used prolutex progesterone injections. They are just a subcutaneous injections as I think there is a different format in oil which is not supposed to be the nicest. I had the option of pessaries but couldn’t be dealing with the hassle of that.

Update from me: had consultation this pm and all set for a natural FET attempt (potentially with a trigger but tbc) when my period hopefully starts in a week or so. Excited to get going again!

@magpie234 exciting!!

RainbowFluff · 16/07/2025 17:01

@PlanBFertility great to hear about your line progression, so excited for your OTD.

@Splishsplashsplosh93 I’m about to start the progesterone suppositories, I had pessaries the last few times which were messy so I’m hopeful these will be better.

I’m quite sore compared to usual but it’s easing off now. They provide a daily update so I should know more tomorrow! Appointment on Saturday to hopefully start the next round.

Oh best of luck with the clinic call- sounds all good from your HPTs though!

I've got the follow up clinician call tomorrow morn. That'll determine next steps, so very keen to hear their plan.

Yeah little embryo will surely be burrowing in!

I did vaginally pessaries (ugesterone?) three times daily. I didn't like wearing a liner and just being filled up with the leftover bits that don't get absorbed. The only saving grace of not being pregnant is that I got to stop pessaries for awhile! XD

Hello - may I belatedly hop on? I'm 41, have one DD and this is my first round of IVF. Egg collection is this Saturday and then will freeze all to do PGT-A testing, given my age.

Stims, etc. have all been fine, I was prepared for a wilder hormonal ride than I got, so feeling lucky so far.

I'm just wondering what the recovery from the sedation will be like? I'm also a bit worried about OHSS - I hear drinking coconut water is helpful, is that true?

Thanks in advance for any info and good luck to all those in similar boats!
xx

RainbowFluff · 17/07/2025 14:42

Welcome @FridayFinch Do you know if you have any risk factors for OHSS? It’s less likely in a freeze all cycle and also with advancing age. Some clinics will give additional medication to reduce the chances of it, especially if you’re at higher risk so it is worth speaking to them if you’re worried.

My clinic do a daily call, I’m not sure if this is reassuring or not! Of my 13 eggs 8 were mature and 5 of those fertilised. That’s our lowest ever fertilisation rate of all our cycles, they said it could be to do with the AOA that we tried which is supposed to increase the number of blasts. They didn’t mention it could decrease fertilisation rate, lets hope it increases the blast rate.

PlanBFertility · 17/07/2025 20:58

@RainbowFluff best of luck for your 5 ❤️❤️
