July IVF/ICSI/FET

I didn’t see a thread for July IVF yet. I am due to start stims around 18Jul with estrogen priming starting the week before that. Collection will be the end of July all going well.
This will be my second IVF and I will be using ICSI. I will be 40 during treatment and 41 come collection. I have a child from my first IVF 3 years ago. Since then I had a chemical pregnancy Dec 2024 with my only other embryo from my 2022 cycle and a failed IUI in Feb this year.
I found the discussion board really helpful and supportive in my first IVF round as we all understand the crazy ups and downs of this rollercoaster. Wondering if there are any others with similar timing?

@Miraclemuma03 well I'm behind even further. My transfer wouldn't be until mid August. I'm waiting now for them to call to deliver the medication any day.
Definitely feel myself getting more nervous. I had some reflexology yesterday to relax.
I guess we're just looking at collecting a few eggs this time aswell. My amh doesnt correlate with my afc. My amh is 40 but my afc in my left ovary at scan last month was 5, which is pretty much the same as last time when my amh was 60 that time. We got 2 of those in the left to grow and 5 from the right so 7 eggs.
I think its going to be a disaster to be honest. My diet has been pretty terrible lately. I was sick for 2 weeks and literally just ate take away the my sons birthday I definitely overindulged on cake

Scan today only saw 7 follicles, half the number I usually get but they don’t look that carefully so there may be smaller ones! I’m planning on dual stim anyway so maybe that’s why they are only counting the big ones. Switching from fostimon to meriofert from today, must be a reason to do with the blood test.

I’m unlikely to be doing a transfer until September (assuming there is anything to transfer!). Not sure if I mind though, early pregnancy is rough.

@RainbowFluff what stim day is this for you? Mine only counted the ones above 7mm i think the first scan and then the next scan after that they measured all of them

@RainbowFluff How has quality been before? I cried at my scan back in March when they only counted 5 but ended up getting 7 and 4 blasts from those. Made me realise more does not always mean better results!

I’m on day 6 of stims, my biggest follicles looked around 13mm. I can’t remember how big they usually are by this time! We’re unsure about quality, usually get 100% fertilisation but a big day 5 drop off on our second and third cycle which could be egg quality but also there is a known high DNA fragmentation from my partner. Weirdly in the first cycle 3/4 made it to day 5 so who knows what was different then! My clinic blamed my age but it was only 5 months between the cycles so I’d be surprised if it made that much difference. I think it’s a bit of pot luck each time!

I’m 9 days since my cycle was cancelled and stopping stims. Counting the days until I get a bleed so I can start again, I feel a bit in limbo, can’t plan anything. Thinking of all of you in the tww and hoping for lots of positives.

@Splishsplashsplosh93 I’ve been fine after my 3 ECs but Max I’ve had returned is 7 eggs

@SummerSolstice25 Right here in limbo with you also waiting for my period after my cancelled FET! Hope we both get to go again soon. I am a planner and ivf is NOT the one for planners (or control freaks which I also am!)

When do you officially start stims? I had my clinic app this morning, picked up my stims and had baseline bloods done which came back good and I start on sunday. Yeah thats weird with your amh being at 40, should be lots of follicles. My amh is something like 11 or under i cant remember but its on the lower side and I only get 5 follicles between both ovaries. Usually mature ones ranging between 2 to 3 on my right ovary and smaller ones on my left, some collections I dont even get eggs from my left ovary. But we shall see. I feel you with the nervousness. I tell myself im going to be ok no matter the outcome.

Also a planner! I hate not having control of my own life, we can’t book a holiday, we can’t make any big purchases (in case we have multiple IVF cycles ahead of us 💸), can’t even organise a night out too far ahead in case I’m stimming at the time.

@Miraclemuma03 and @VioIetMoon I’m starting late too. Stims due to start 18Jul and collection end July/start Aug with transfer August all going to plan. July feels like the longest month already!

Hi everyone, Im on Day 8 of Down Regulation (Long IVF Protocol) and the side effects have begun, I feel so low and depressed, sobbed all evening yesterday over nothing. Anyone else have similar symptoms? I have my baseline scan next Thursday and the will start Stims hopefully, @DeeKel I agree this is the longest month ever 😞

@Hopeful786 my last cycle was down reg and I HATED IT. Felt so depressed. Hang on in there x

I’m going to be on down regulation also for my next cycle and I’m now really afraid of my moods as I’m pretty down already

@Hopeful786 I’ve never had to do down regulation but I know I get bad anxiety when I’m on hormones - paranoid over the littlest thing so I feel for you. It’s awful the affect they have. I don’t find the estrogen priming too bad but I have to eat when taking the tablets or I’ll feel sick and after few days they can give me horrible headaches. Hope you are feeling ok today.

Not too far away now to start stims. I got the all clear to start on the 13th, so let the games begin. Lol

Hey everyone, I hope you’re all doing okay.❤️ I can definitely relate to all the emotions during down reg, feel like I’ve been through it all these past few weeks. I’ve just taken my first dose of stims this morning. I’m on the highest dose my clinic can give, 300 IU, so bracing myself a bit.

Is there any advice out there on helping the stims do their job during this time? I’m sure you just have to kick back and relax, but with my low amh and afc I’m quite keen to do anything I can!
