Hi everyone, just done downregg injection- Arvekap, only once, then to wait for the period and then scan on the 11th of July. This is my first FET.

Has anyone used it? Which symptoms to expect? I reacted really mentally and physically bad to norethisterone three times for my EC 😬
thanks!

waitingforourmiracle · 30/06/2025 14:57

Hey @FlatWhiteAnyone I haven't tried that before, is this to try get your period started? I had norethisterone this cycle and it look 10 days to get my bleed!

Hi @waitingforourmiracle, clinic said it is downregulation one, and my period should starts as usual on the 8th-10th.
For ivf cycles I also had norethisteron and it was horrible, including acute hive, mentally so down wanted to run away and my tounge was numb from time to time
Just want to be prepared if this one gives the same, it is a greek clinic protocol.
My potential transfer might be 27-3 August or so, will join you ladies as hoping it will be July still 😅

I was on burserlin for down reg

Burserlin made me very emotional yet kinda emotionally numb

I believe some down reg meds can do that

bluecoral · 30/06/2025 18:18

@worldwidetravel2017 those symptoms sound promising, keeping everything crossed for you. @waitingforourmiracle how are you doing? Have you started estrogen ahead of your first scan?
@FlatWhiteAnyone I've not heard of your medication - hope no nasty side effects. Do you need to travel to Greece for the transfer?

I'm getting very frustrated testing for ovulation twice a day and getting nowhere at the moment which worries me ahead of my scan on Wednesday, I was really hoping to get my surge tomorrow but I think highly unlikely at this rate.

FlatWhiteAnyone · 30/06/2025 19:42

@bluecoral I just googled and it is triptorelin (GnRH) hormon agonist, it is a brand name in Greece.

Doind scans where I live, but will go a couple of days before transfer to Greece. I went twice before - for scans and then laparoscopy with hysteroscopy. I had heart shape uterus and 2 premature kids before 32, (all healthy), it was ignored in 3 countries (including where I live now and did 3 EC cycles), saying just cervix was weak and that no twins allowed and be ready for early delivery again. But Greek clinic advised to remove with surgery.. only when I pushed here for second opinion and found a specialist dr, he confirmed and agreed fully with the greeks as I had a tricky very wide septum. So went to Greece and they corrected all. Now have a chance for a full term baby! ❤️
So actually happy my eggs didn’t work this time and we went to Greece

FlatWhiteAnyone · 30/06/2025 19:44

@bluecoralare you doing a natural FET?
I asked for it as hsve really nice same length cycles and ovulation, but they refused saying too much stress and given another country no 😕

bluecoral · 30/06/2025 21:35

@FlatWhiteAnyone sounds like you've been through a lot, keeping my fingers crossed for you . Do you have all your dates for travel or is it dependent on scans before you can book flights etc.
Yes I'm having natural modified as I have regular cycles (we are IVF due to male factor) and my last FET worked (although ended in MMC) so my clinic are sticking with the same protocol with progesterone and clexane. I think though if this cycle fails I will go to medicated for the next one maybe as the uncertainty of it all drives me mad.

FlatWhiteAnyone · 30/06/2025 21:44

Thank you @bluecoral! I am hoping for a successful cycle for you too xx
no, I don’t even have a medication plan, only date for a first scan and then they will tell me what and how much to take, then closer to end of july depending on my lining I guess I will know the date

waitingforourmiracle · 01/07/2025 10:24

@bluecoral I hope you get your peak soon!! Yes I started my patches ready for scan on Friday

@FlatWhiteAnyone I see, sorry I'm not clued up on the different protocols! Fingers crossed

@worldwidetravel2017 hopefully promising signs!

@waitingforourmiracle thank you, by some miracle I actually got it this morning and went to the clinic for a same day scan. All looking good (although the nurse took ages and stayed very quiet throughout so I feared the worst) and transfer scheduled for Sunday 6th. Picked up my prescription for cyclogest so that fun starts on Thursday!
Hope everyone is doing okay in this heat.

waitingforourmiracle · 02/07/2025 09:55

@bluecoral how exciting you have a date, I have everything crossed for you! Oh my gosh I hate when they go quiet, I know it's because they are concentrating but still 😂I'm ready for my scan now to see how things are looking and so they can confirm my transfer will be on 11th! X

bluecoral · 02/07/2025 14:18

@waitingforourmiracle thank you, I'm feeling pretty nervous but also can't wait for Sunday. Really hope your scan went well? Not too long to go until the 11th

waitingforourmiracle · 02/07/2025 15:10

@bluecoral completely understandable! Not sure if it actually helps but I heard chewing on pineapple core on the morning of transfer is meant to help, I did it last time and will do the same this time 😋I worded that badly I meant I'm ready to have my scan now but it's not actually booked till this Friday! X

Hi all. I posted in the other IVF/ICSI/FET group too but joining here as well. I may be July but might too into August depending on when my period shows up. I am in a frustrating uncertain patch (story of our lives right?) as I started on a fully medicated cycle mid-June but it got cancelled due to my side effects on the Elleste Solo pills. I will now be trying a natural or natural modified cycle (consultant call not for a couple of weeks so tbc) on my next period. The question is… I took the ES for 5 days. Is my body now going to gear up to ovulate a bit late or just… not? In which case I assume no period as no progesterone to rise then fall and trigger it. Have struggled to get clear answers so am just waiting and hoping it sorts itself out and my period is on time or only slightly delayed…

Good luck to everyone on this thread!

bluecoral · 02/07/2025 20:14

@waitingforourmiracle oh I'm sorry I misread what you wrote and thought you were waiting today! Friday is not long away now, is it like mine where they want your lining at a certain thickness? Thank you for the tip I will buy a pineapple!
@magpie234 welcome, I'm so sorry to hear about your cancelled cycle, that must be so frustrating. I don't know much about medicated cycles but are you testing for ovulation? Will your clinic let you induce a bleed with norethistrone or similar? I did that this time even on a natural cycle.
