Hi All!

I might be early to it here, but thought I'd start a threat for anyone who knows they'll be going through it in June this year!

I'm based near Sheffield, and will be going through the treatment in sheffield. I'm 36, will turn 37 during the treatment. We've been through one failed round last August, so we've spent the time since getting further private checks done, and now we're ready for the next round. We came back as 'normal' on the nhs tests, but we found other things with these private tests! We've had all of our follow ups, catch up consultation appointments. Next appointment is our nurse appointment on the 5th May, then after that it's waiting for my next cycle to start at the very end of May / beginning of June.

From the further tests we've had done, I'm now on thyroid medication to bring my thyroid down to fertility recommended levels, my partner had DNA Frag & Oxidative Stress tests done and we've made improvements based on the results of these. I've also been having some acupuncture, which I've also feel has helped my sanity!

Please share your stories and hopefully we can all support each other during this. I'm much more nervous this time, even though I know we're better set up than we were last time.

I have just started my withdrawal bleed! I am happy about it because it means I am one step closer to my next IVF cycle.

I have heard that the first cycle after IVF can last really long. Does anyone have experience with that?

I didnt find mine any more longer then usual, last time though I spotted after my period for a couple extra days once my period stopped, but then I had a mid cycle bleed which cancelled my next ivf cycle. But other ivf rounds this did not happen, this was the first time that happened.

I'll let you know because my period is 100% here now. I tested negative (just had to rule it out last night). I'm completely gutted but also not surprised. We've been TTC for over 4 years so what did I expect. It's just so much hope all then to come to another bfn. I know so many of you know how this feels. It's also so hard when a lot of people in your life have no idea what you're going through & you have to put on a happy face pretending everything is ok.

Im so very sorry. What a long journey you have been on. I am the opposite, I dont have problems with an embryo sticking, it's just that I dont have good eggs or make good embryos so I miscarry alot or through ivf my embryos dont survive.

@Rayofsunshine22 I’m really really sorry, this process is full of so much heartbreak 💔 I hope, if you decide to try again, that you get a positive result next time. Gutted for you xx

Thank you lovely. I did a package with Access Fertility so I have 3 rounds. & Any frozens I may get out of them but none this round. Still have to find the huge amount for drugs again though.
Im so hopeful for you less than 24 hrs now before test.

Thank you lovely. I think I'd find that even worse your journey sounds so heartbreaking. It's impossible to stay positive isn't it and I am generally a positive person but I just don't if this will ever happen for me.

I'm so sorry :( this journey is so hard and relentless.

This was my second round. My first round I only got 1 egg and it didn’t make it to day 3. That was an NHS round and being forced to meet their bmi limit had me eating super unhealthy, like 500cals per day. This round was a private round and I ate healthy balanced meals and just felt a lot more calm and in control. Xx

I'm honestly so happy for you. & Pray you have a smooth pregnancy you deserve it.

Thanks everyone, I’m absolutely buzzing and absolutely terrified all in one.

@Hopeandfaith1990 i pretty much had cramp the whole time, and still do right now, makes me think something is wrong but I’m trying to tell myself it’s just things growing and stuff 🙈

@Rayofsunshine22 i don’t have any other children despite trying naturally for over 10years. Covid got in the way of me starting my ivf journey earlier.

Congratulations for the bfp. Hopefully one sticky little bean in there.

Just an update from me: the breast lump turned out to be two small cysts – nothing to worry about and no treatment needed (yay!). So I've been signed off by the hospital and just need to wait for the letter confirming the all-clear, so I can hand that over to my fertility clinic and then book dates for the frozen transfer.

@KayEmmSquared congratulations, such great news. Keeping everything crossed for you.

@Hopeandfaith1990 They haven't confirmed the specific meds but said it will be oral pills three times a day for 11–12 days from the start of my cycle, then a scan to check the womb lining thickness and if that's good, then I'll have progesterone pessaries for 5 days, then the transfer.

I was prescribed Progynova pills and Cyclogest pessaries for the fresh transfer (which was switched to frozen), so I'm guessing it's likely to be the same for this one.

@FluentTealGuide that's really good news! Do you have any dates for your frozen cycle? We might be similar as I'm booked in for my frozen cycle planning appointment next week and also due on my period a few days later.

I can choose between a medicated or natural cycle and have no idea what to pick!
