Hi All!

I might be early to it here, but thought I'd start a threat for anyone who knows they'll be going through it in June this year!

I'm based near Sheffield, and will be going through the treatment in sheffield. I'm 36, will turn 37 during the treatment. We've been through one failed round last August, so we've spent the time since getting further private checks done, and now we're ready for the next round. We came back as 'normal' on the nhs tests, but we found other things with these private tests! We've had all of our follow ups, catch up consultation appointments. Next appointment is our nurse appointment on the 5th May, then after that it's waiting for my next cycle to start at the very end of May / beginning of June.

From the further tests we've had done, I'm now on thyroid medication to bring my thyroid down to fertility recommended levels, my partner had DNA Frag & Oxidative Stress tests done and we've made improvements based on the results of these. I've also been having some acupuncture, which I've also feel has helped my sanity!

Please share your stories and hopefully we can all support each other during this. I'm much more nervous this time, even though I know we're better set up than we were last time.

Late to the party, but I've had several delays previously and didn't want to get in too deep; but I've done the scheduling, the meds teaching lesson and have the prescription for my meds, so thought I'd say 'hi' because it seems it will actually happen this time!

We've been TTC #2 for 2.5 years. Unexplained. Two failed IUIs last year. One natural MC in January this year. Due to start injections (Gonal F) around 5/6 June, then FET mid-June. AMH isn't great for my age (6.2, age 36) but hoping we get one transferable embryo.

I haven't changed diet for IVF specifically but have been eating healthier generally and exercising for health. I was taking Procieve but now using Wild Nutrition his+hers fertility supplement, plus a high dose vitamin D due to a longstanding borderline deficiency.

@Pharmapalava I posted a thread earlier about meds as I'm finding it difficult, too. There are a few suggestions for places that will post and accept digital prescriptions, so might be worth checking out. Lots of people recommend Stork but they only serve clinics with an existing partnership and my clinic stopped partnering with them last year, so that idea went down the drain.

We're going to head to ASDA tomorrow to see if they can supply; not the closest and we don't drive, but my local Boots was a 'mare this morning (no idea about the meds; like talking to a bot), so husband said if we can use ASDA, we'll just Uber to and from as needed if it's going to save stress and £££.

@GLizzie88 thank you for starting this thread!

We’re about to start our first NHS cycle at jessops, we have our nurse appointment next week and then have been scheduled to start the first week of June! We have mild male factor infertility so hoping this may be our chance 🤞🏼

I have a real mixed feeling, nervous, excited, scared but can’t wait to get started

Miraclemuma03 · 24/05/2025 07:05

Hi everybody!!! Im praying to the universe we can do a cycle in June. We did a cycle in April that was a complete failure, then may cycle got cancelled. So onto June.

CloudyIvy55 · 26/05/2025 22:21

Hey, how's everyone getting on? We have our planning appointment tomorrow!! We were told we would start on my next cycle after that appointment but that's only two weeks away so that seems a little unbelievable to me...but we'll see.

Anyone else giving it one last go at conceiving naturally this month? Praying for a last minute miracle 😂

Good luck for your appointment. Thats very quick and that 2 weeks will go by so fast. I am just finishing this months period and then I have to see if I bleed around ovulation or fertile window this cycle and get back to my clinic to figure out what our next plan is. If all goes well I ring with day 1 of my next cycle so still feels ages away.

FluentTealGuide · 27/05/2025 07:41

We dropped a small fortune on our meds at ASDA over the weekend, and they’ll probably be available to pick up tomorrow. Hopefully we’ll have enough space in our fridge for everything. This is our first (and only) round so it’s all new and a bit scary.

We were also at a social event on Sunday and told a few people it’s all moving ahead, so it’s feeling extra real.

KayEmmSquared · 27/05/2025 08:17

I start my Norethisterone on Thursday, time seems to be dragging in though! Hopefully, like my last cycle, once I get started on Thursday the time will just fly in! It’s the natural waiting times for periods and specific Cycle Days that kills me because it’s all in the hands of Mother Nature.

CloudyIvy55 · 27/05/2025 15:56

Ahh we have a start date! Period due on the 9th June so start meds on the 10th....if AF arrives on time. Can't believe we'll be starting in two ish weeks.

So much information to digest from our appointment this morning - excited and nervous. Trying to figure out how on earth I'm going to fit all of this around work (shift worker).

YellowTack · 27/05/2025 19:24

My period has started so I will start stimulations on Thursday!
My clinic is stressing me out at the moment, I am doing IVF in Prague and they keep changing the dates they want me to come for the scans! I have finally booked my plane tickets and accommodation now, I can’t believe I am going to Prague next week!

GLizzie88 · 28/05/2025 08:49

Hi All, I can't believe it's June on Sunday, this is flying round! Just waiting for aunt flo to appear this week (should be the weekend) then calling the hospital to go for my first appointment!
It all goes so quickly, but I found this thread so helpful last time for when the days feel so long.
@Roseberry22 I don't know if I said in my original post but I'm at Jessops too. I hope your nurse appointment is ok, I've always found the team there amazing.

Also just waiting for my period now, I keep feeling twinges, I just hope it doesn't come early!

@CloudyIvy55 I don't know how you manage it with shift work, I hope you can get appointments that fit!
@YellowTack That's frustrating, have any of these fallen outside of when you'll be there or is it all ok?

@GLizzie88 fingers crossed AF comes at the weekend as scheduled, not long to go! I’m due on Monday/Tuesday and they’ve said we can start as we will have had our nurse appointment so hopefully we will be starting injections this time next week, eek!!

Miraclemuma03 · 28/05/2025 09:10

Good luck everyone who is about to start injections. I have just finished this months period so now we wait.

FluentTealGuide · 28/05/2025 09:23

I'm on Microgynon to regulate dates and give my ovaries a break before starting stims. They wanted me to stop this weekend but I'm away for a few days next week for my sister's wedding so they let me push it a little so I don't have to take the meds with me (or deal with the palaver or checking/making sure there's a mini fridge in my room). I've been told to take my last pill on 2 June, so period should arrive around 4–6 June and injections will start the next day. Not long!

@YellowTack are you staying out there for the whole cycle or flying back and forth? I hope you get time for sightseeing too, to take your mind off things.

CloudyIvy55 · 28/05/2025 09:33

Wow @YellowTack- managing all this with a clinic in a different country must be very challenging!! Hope you get to enjoy Prague a little also.

It's really comforting to read all of your similar situations - otherwise you can feel very alone.

KittyIIV · 28/05/2025 10:30

Hello all so lovely to meet you all and huge good luck all round for us going through this. I have just come out of the May thread as I’m so behind everyone on there. Happy to report they had lots of success and hopefully that will follow on to us this month!

Background on my situation, we are going through IVF using ICSI and I am currently on day 3. Second day of injections starting with Overleap then Overmex combined. Reason for this is male fertility issues but my AMH was “well within range for my age”. I am 33 and partner 37.

This is our first round and we are going through TFP who have been very good.

Have found posting really helped my sanity as it seems a long journey ahead even despite all the time it took to get here! Here for you all. Kitty x

KittyIIV · 28/05/2025 10:33

@YellowTackyou are superwoman doing this in Prague! But I think that it will be a good distraction in a way to have the travel to think about and exciting too. Hope you’re travels go well and good luck for starting your stims tomorrow

KittyIIV · 28/05/2025 10:35

Also for everyone due to start, I took a photo of my stomach before I started to see how bloated I got. Would recommend as it’s piece of mind that with all the hormones you’re not thinking you’re just getting fat 😆

KittyIIV · 28/05/2025 10:50

@CloudyIvy55it really is information overload isn’t it! I got this planner on Amazon and it’s quite useful (if only to distract me in a way that thinks I’m being organised and productive)

hope you manage to get a plan together around you shift work. You got this! Once you start your period and you know dates you will feel much better.

CloudyIvy55 · 28/05/2025 11:09

@KittyIIV I am also at TFP, first round, on a mix of overleap and overmex. My AMH was also good but they did explain to me that I was perhaps at a higher risk of OSHH because of that - its all quite confusing 😂

Love the idea of the planner- I'm definitely someone where a plan makes me feel calmer and more in control.

Also love the idea of a belly photo - one very small silver lining for this looooong ttc process is that I've found exercise and I've lost some weight. Going to struggle having to bring the high intensity exercise down and maybe some weight gain/bloating - this might help me keep it in perspective.

KittyIIV · 28/05/2025 11:28

Amazing! TFP buddies!

On the AMH You can’t win can you 🤦‍♀️ hopefully it doesn’t happen to us. What dose of overleap are you going to be on?

Some of the pages would have been useful earlier on but I’ve found the monthly diary really useful to keep a note of meds appointments and cycle days etc. I think the follicle page will come in handy. Don’t know about you but I have all these questions write them down then in the appointments I just forget!

well done you for losing weight and getting into exercise! Yesterday and today I haven’t felt that I could give some a go, I usually like kettlebell workouts but I cannot think of anything worse right now. I did ask the nurse if that would be ok, she said yes... but that I probably wouldn’t fancy jumping around with all the new ovaries knocking around though. Keen to get there in the next day or so. We should share some workout ideas!

I bloated quite a bit already, so I was really glad I took a photo - I know it’s the last thing I should be worried about but I was like WTF 😆

Hello all 😀joining very last minute! First time doing IVF after recurrent miscarriage over the past 2.5 years (5 in total, 1 ectopic 4 MC). Finally feeling a bit more positive on this journey! Had injection teach today, meds delivered on Tuesday and going to start Fostimon on CD2 on Friday!

Just to make it more complicated I'm off to a wedding in Ireland this weekend so got to take the meds on the plane and do my first ever injection alone (husband staying home with dogs haha) in a strange place!!

Hope everyone is all good xxx

Gosia19 · 28/05/2025 22:35

Heyyy everyone - exciting to hear everyone’s updates and feels lovely to have a community. ☺️

Good luck @Hopeandfaith1990 I’m rooting for you! I have a clinic appt tomorrow and should be starting stims on Friday night so I’ll be doing my first injection the same time as you. We’ve got this!

Welcome welcome! Sorry to hear of the miscarriages, that must have been awful. Hoping this is your time! I do agree with you, at least we are sort of in control this way... hope that the trip to Ireland brings you the luck of the Irish :) 🍀Xx

Good luck to you both for starting the stims tomorrow! I am on day 3 of injections, day 4 of cycle now. The first day I found tough, but it is getting much easier as the days go by. You got this! Xx

One thing I will say that I am struggling to drink 3 litres of water a day, any advice much appreciated. Have been stocking up on flavoured waters.
