Hi All!

I might be early to it here, but thought I'd start a threat for anyone who knows they'll be going through it in June this year!

I'm based near Sheffield, and will be going through the treatment in sheffield. I'm 36, will turn 37 during the treatment. We've been through one failed round last August, so we've spent the time since getting further private checks done, and now we're ready for the next round. We came back as 'normal' on the nhs tests, but we found other things with these private tests! We've had all of our follow ups, catch up consultation appointments. Next appointment is our nurse appointment on the 5th May, then after that it's waiting for my next cycle to start at the very end of May / beginning of June.

From the further tests we've had done, I'm now on thyroid medication to bring my thyroid down to fertility recommended levels, my partner had DNA Frag & Oxidative Stress tests done and we've made improvements based on the results of these. I've also been having some acupuncture, which I've also feel has helped my sanity!

Please share your stories and hopefully we can all support each other during this. I'm much more nervous this time, even though I know we're better set up than we were last time.

Hi everyone - I’ve been reading everyone’s updates and wishing you all well through the highs and the lows.

I am planning to have a frozen transfer in September, as my clinic want to do a dummy transfer in August. Just had my appointment to discuss all of the medication, it’s looking like I will have injections 2-3x a day for a month, and another 3 months if the transfer is successful.

I think I was a bit naive and thought the most intense part for medication was going to be preparing for egg collection. It feels a bit impossible me to make any social or work plans around medication. I’m a bit stunned/upset and also feeling really guilty about it as I should be grateful for the treatment available.

Your allowed to feel upset about how much these treatments take over your life. Im going away this weekend for my birthday and just taking the medications with me.

@Gosia19 I have also never done a FET and was under the impression that the process was straightforward, but how you described it it sounds exhausting.

I know the feeling about not being able to plan anything, I really want a vacation but am not sure where my next cycle will begin and can’t afford to miss a cycle.

Hello @Gosia19 I am hoping to do my frozen transfer in August. I chose to do a medicated cycle and my regime looks like:

  • CD21 start injecting Buserelin (down reg) daily for 2-3 weeks
  • Scan after 2 weeks to check
  • If ok after scan, start 3 x Progynova tablets per day
  • 5 days before transfer start injecting Lubion & using progesterone pessaries
  • I also then start my autoimmune protocol
  • Trigger shot before transfer

So I think the only time I will be doing 3 injections per day is when doing the trigger? It will be 2 per day when I start the Lubion but I will obviously stop the Buserelin almost immediately I think?

What have you been given as a protocol? Could you opt for a natural cycle instead if you don't want to do so many meds? You could also opt for the progesterone pessaries rather than injections, I think they have the same success rate? It is very overwhelming! Although I am currently on holiday with the injections and it hasn't been too much of a hassle xxx
