Hi All!

I might be early to it here, but thought I'd start a threat for anyone who knows they'll be going through it in June this year!

I'm based near Sheffield, and will be going through the treatment in sheffield. I'm 36, will turn 37 during the treatment. We've been through one failed round last August, so we've spent the time since getting further private checks done, and now we're ready for the next round. We came back as 'normal' on the nhs tests, but we found other things with these private tests! We've had all of our follow ups, catch up consultation appointments. Next appointment is our nurse appointment on the 5th May, then after that it's waiting for my next cycle to start at the very end of May / beginning of June.

From the further tests we've had done, I'm now on thyroid medication to bring my thyroid down to fertility recommended levels, my partner had DNA Frag & Oxidative Stress tests done and we've made improvements based on the results of these. I've also been having some acupuncture, which I've also feel has helped my sanity!

Please share your stories and hopefully we can all support each other during this. I'm much more nervous this time, even though I know we're better set up than we were last time.

My clinic have just called me to say I have 1 Blastocyst. The others haven't developed to that stage so nothing to freeze. I felt sick when they called me as I wasn't expecting it but thank goodness I have 1 and they are going ahead with the transfer 🙏🏻

I thought I got a blood test so going to ask today about it. But they want to book me in for a scan today for when I reach 6 weeks (next week) wow I think this might be worse than the two week wait, waiting for the viability scan! X

Feeling very sad today. I’m 9dp5dt. I’ve been getting mild positives since 5dp5dt but they’ve barely progressed and this morning it’s just a squinter of a line. I’m sure this is a chemical. Just had my beta blood test at the clinic and cried on the nurse as I know what the result will be later.

We’ve had one previous failed transfer (a day 3 embryo) and one missed miscarriage. To make things worse, our egg collection this time round was on the due date for our first baby that we lost at 10 weeks.

We have two more embryos frozen. The grading of them isn’t great so I’m not too optimistic. Trying to decide whether to do another full cycle to bank some embryos, try naturally for a bit or use our frozen ones - mind is all over the place at the moment!

Good luck to everyone still in the process - it’s so so hard and an emotional rollercoaster. I thought this was it when I saw that faint line on Friday only for it to be taken away from us 💔

@Rayofsunshine22 sorry to hear the others aren’t there yet, are the going to give them another day to see if they progress to blasts?
That phone call must’ve been horrible, I’m dreading my phone going, my last cycle they called me a couple of hours before transfer to tell me it was cancelled as my embryo stopped growing, the fear I have today is next level! Every time my phone buzzes I almost cry!

Ah blooming heck! Poor you sending big hugs. Are they going to do a repeat beta? Sending big hugs and remember prioritise YOU. Rest up and lots of self care

I felt so sick that she was going to say they didn't have anything. So I feel relieved they at least have 1. I will ask when I get there about the others but she didn't sound hopeful about them. So it seems it's all on this 1 🙏🏻

Im so sorry the tests arnt progressing. Are you getting more bloods to check hcg ?

Unfortunately I don’t know what today’s beta is yet (think they’ll call this afternoon) but I know it’s going to be very low based on the pregnancy test this morning. Not sure if they’ll want to repeat or not 😭😭

have you been testing at the same time with the same type of tests? Will you get the results of the beta back soon? This process is so hard and I'm thinking of you xx

I’ve got my beta this afternoon, but all of a sudden I’ve got cramps today and feel like my period is coming. I’m pretty sure cramping is normal and I’m just freaking out. I’ve taken a test an hour before my beta and it looks like this. It’s a boots own brand early detection one … ahhhh just really hope this baba sticks 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

@K8113thats a great line ❤️ I thought I had some cramping too but it was actually trapped gas (TMI - I’m sorry) and there will be aches from the progesterone. Good luck for your beta x

@Rayofsunshine22 how did you get on?

We had one Grade A embryo that had been successfully transferred back, I’m absolutely buzzing! Can’t believe it.

Our other embryo was only sitting as a Grade E so they’re going to monitor that for another day and hopefully it reaches Grade C or better so that it can be frozen. Our clinic will only freeze grades A-C. Although they did say my A embryo was a C this morning and progressed to an A before transfer so I’m keeping the faith 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Hey! Oh wow that's amazing!! You must be SO pleased ! They've graded mine 2BB which Google tells me and clinic told me is good. She said it was a good blastocyst and felt that if it was an afternoon transfer I'd had it would have developed even more so fingers crossed she's right.
The actual transfer was fine, in & out in 20 mins really. I'm back at work just to keep in good books really although I don't think my boss actually expects me to be here!!
Clinic said I have good prospects as I've had a baby before so I'm holding onto all the hope 🙏🏻
They told me to test 2 weeks today.

That’s great @Rayofsunshine22 your wee embryo was obviously showing great signs of progression if they think it would be higher now, and that gives a great foundation for it to continue growing now it’s back where it belongs!
Yea, my transfer was the same, was like a little military operation, in and out and super efficient! I burst out crying when the “wee flash” happened 🙈
My test day is in 2 weeks too, 13 July can’t come quick enough! Congrats, we are official PUPO ❤️

That’s brilliant! Mine wasn’t able to be graded and the best one of the bunch put back in with no grading at all so that’s great yours is graded! Fingers crossed! My top tip, keep as busy as possible in terms of distraction as you can the two week wait is intense xx

@KayEmmSquared @K8113 aw thank you ladies for all the positivity. It's all very unknown nothing to compare first time round & hope hanging on every day so the support is lovely 🤍

I’m having an appointment with the consultant tomorrow, they think that we should go ahead with a July cycle as planned and that Zymot will be enough to overcome the DNA fragmentation issues. I’m a little sceptical, given that my last 2 rounds resulted in nothing getting to day 5 I don’t really want to go through the whole process again for that. He’ll be going through the process of getting the varicocele repaired in the background with a plan to do another cycle once that’s healed if needed.

If this is of any help or any reassurance a friend of mines husband had the same issues and they’ve just (in the past few weeks) had a healthy baby girl! Hang in there 🥰
