Thought I'd start a thread for anyone starting IVF/ICSI in April! This is going to be round 2 for me, I'm currently waiting for my period to start so I can book my pre-treatment appointment and typical, I'm a week late with no signs of AF! Joys of PCOS and irregular cycles!

Be nice to have some company! 💛

Absolutely devastated this morning. Only 2 of my eggs were mature for icsi and both of those didn't do well today, doesn't look like they will make it. Il get an update tomorrow morning but was told not to expect good news. So unfortunately this round will end up with nothing. I just want to cry

Update on our one lil egg.
It is thriving and so they are transferring it tomorrow so up to me then to keep it going.
Fingers, toes and eyes crossed that this is it!

@StoriesAboutJanuary I'm definitely not one to take a huge bundle of vitamins. Iv never needed too. But think I need to help my eggs along with something. Il know more after my chat with the ivf doctor with what possibly could have gone so wrong for us.

If you’re going to take anything extra alongside prenatal vitamin I would recommend coenzyme q10. I take 200 mg with breakfast and lunch

Yeah 10 eggs fertilised so really happy with that. Day 3 update on Saturday so fingers crossed. Provisionally have embryo transfer booked for Monday

IVF they said they might have to do ICSI but the sperm thawed well. They collected 14 eggs so feel very lucky. Expecting there to be more of a drop off as days go on but hoping for 2-3 embryos at the end

@lovelivelaugh64 they said i had 13 of the right size (i had 24 follicles overall)
and i ended up getting 11 eggs (9 mature, 7 fertilised, 6 blasts)

@Timetotryagain wow that’s amazing. I am hoping they find some eggs in me. I have low amh and I am extremely nervous. Do you have any tips for EC?

@lovelivelaugh64 take a sick bag for the car journey home haha! I threw up after mine. But overall it was actually fine and i had no pain, just giddy from the meds haha. Good luck!!!!

@Timetotryagain Our hospital is 2 hour 30 minutes away from us. So we decided to stay over near the hospital tonight. So that it’s easier in the morning to get there. And I am thinking about staying over nearby tomorrow night too as I am travel sick and currently on edge.

I think they expected about 14 so pleased I didn’t have any empty ones. At one point they didn’t think they would get any from my right ovary as it was so enlarged so only moving a bit so they were worried if they tried to remove the eggs they would nick the bowel but luckily it was ok

You’ll be fine I don’t remember a thing. I felt so much better afterwards tbh as I felt sooo unwell on stims so was almost an instant relief. I asked for anti sickness meds which helped me

That’s really good that you didn’t get much of a drop off after fertilisation!!

Can I join, long time lurker but first time poster. Had three previous egg collections, and on the last one we had 20 eggs but total fertilisation failure. Previous rounds, we had two embryos each time but 2 miscarriages and 2 BFNs 😭 just waiting for my period to start and then on to egg collection four at the Evewell and praying for a better outcome than last time! Only time I'm ever desperate for my period to come is when I'm waiting to start treatment ha!

I'm sorry about your fertilisation failure. I have just been through the same thing. It's completely devastating. But welcome and hopefully your next cycle comes with positive news..

No later fertilisation over night unfortunately. This cycle was a failed cycle. Hubby and I are starting in supplements. Iv been prescribed one through my clinic. I pick it up on Wednesday but I don't rememeber what's it's called but definitely wasn't cheap.
