February/March FET

Hi all, looking to start a chat with anyone transferring February or March time. I have my baseline scan booked in next week and if all goes to plan then I'll start treatment & have my second frozen transfer on 4th March. My first FET in September 2024 sadly failed 😞
Any transfer buddies?

Oh and hi @AnonS how are the prep drugs going? When is your first monitoring scan?

BellaRosex · 23/02/2025 10:25

@KenIsAnAccessory all is well here thank you! My cramps are still very much on and off. Are you still getting cramps or have they subsided? Not sure if this is normal 🫣.

My test are also progressing nicely and I can officially say I got my FRER dye stealer today (OTD tomorrow). The Easy @ Home are also coming on nicely. I've attached the photos.

Still just taking each day as it comes and each day is a small victory.

Hope everyone else is keeping well and semi-sane! X

That's great @BellaRosex , tests are looking fab. Do you know when your clinic does viability scan? Another wait 🙈

BellaRosex · 23/02/2025 10:43

@KenIsAnAccessory I think they book in 2 weeks after this so maybe around the 7 week mark. I'll find out for definite tomorrow/ Tuesday. The whole thing is waiting! 😆

Feliciacat · 23/02/2025 11:21

Omg I can’t believe how good people’s lines are looking! I haven’t tested since Friday; my OTD is tomorrow and pregnancy tests cost a fortune so I’m eaking them out. I’ll test tomorrow and then once a week after that.

Fingers crossed for us all tomorrow (most of us seem to have tomorrow as OTD).

SkyeLight · 23/02/2025 11:22

Hi, I hope you don't mind if I jump in here. I'm doing medicated FET, starting my progesterone injections this evening, and FET on Friday. It's my first FET, I had ivf 8 years ago (yes, I am old 😂) and we were lucky to have a boy. I also had natural pregnancy 1,5 years ago but miscarried in 10 week.
We have only 2 embryos, going ahead with 1 only, and probably due to my age this is just the one go we'll do.
I have all the extra meds to start today too, and the injection, which is seriously overwhelming.
I hope all the tests stay positive for you ladies!

Feliciacat · 23/02/2025 11:29

Hi @SkyeLight! Oh that’s exciting. Sounds like you’re in a good place with whatever happens. I suppose it’ll be a relief to close the chapter on ttc since it’s very gruelling when one has fertility problems. I’ve tried for three years. I have two embryos (one inside me and one in the freezer) and I’m quite happy to give up after these two. My ideal would be that both of them took but I’d be happy with one. I kind of just want to get on with my life now!

How old are you if you don’t mind me asking? Only because you mentioned age in your post. I’m 37 so if this transfer is successful, I’ll be 38 when my first child is born. I totally agree on the age thing; I’ll stop trying soon.

SkyeLight · 23/02/2025 11:45

Thanks @Feliciacat I hope this is a successful transfer for you!
And yes, I am very lucky, I would love to have a 2nd child and until now life had been in the way a bit, so we only made the final decision to try again now. But if it doesn’t work at least I will know I did all I could, and even though it will be hard, we can close the chapter.
I will be 44 this year, I was 37 on my first pregnancy, like you are now. 🙂
My anxiety though is much worse than ever! Maybe it’s hormones, but I feel very emotional these days.

Feliciacat · 23/02/2025 13:02

Best of luck to you. I suppose your increased anxiety is likely also because it’s your ‘final’ shot. That’s a lot to process. Although I was very positive about finishing ivf in my initial post to you, it must be an utter emotional rollercoaster too of course.

paintfairy · 23/02/2025 13:40

@KenIsAnAccessory I had some more early hours this morning. They seem to come at night? But then I did have some more at lunch time. I'm now so bloated and uncomfortable from the progesterone though I don't know what's what.
@BellaRosex excellent lines!
@SkyeLight welcome! Another oldie here! 🙋‍♀️🤣 I was 40 when my first was born.

paintfairy · 23/02/2025 13:40

Nearly 40 even! 🤣

KenIsAnAccessory · 23/02/2025 15:06

@paintfairy do you think you're noticing more at night as you don't have other things to focus on? Every symptom I have I am over analysing and second guessing, wondering if it's psychosomatic 🙈

I'm 38, will be 39 (or almost) if this works. We started IVF when I was 27 and have done 13 transfers in total, 6 losses so far and 3 live births at 31, 34 and 37. I feel 'lucky' that DH and I met so young and started young enough that we've had time to try to build the family we want. From the outside we probably look super fertile 🤣

paintfairy · 23/02/2025 15:30

@KenIsAnAccessory I don't think so. It was quite bad. It was like I woke up and I really needed a wee (but actually didn't that much) and that set it off? Then had cramping that kept me awake. But lying still maybe means you don't ease it by moving.
Yes- having time on your side certainly helps! I didn't meet my DH until I was in my 30s so I was already on borrowed time from the beginning! I didn't really expect it to be a problem though.

SkyeLight · 23/02/2025 15:36

Thank you @Feliciacat, it’s probably the added pressure of running out of time too, but I must admit, I hate injections. If it works I will have to continue them for another 9 weeks, which seems very long - before, if I remember right, I was on pessaries only.
@paintfairy hi, it’s good to know I am not the only one over 40! 🙂are you on progesterone injections? The bloating must be quite uncomfortable.
@KenIsAnAccessory OMG, you have been through a lot!!! It’s great though you have 3 kids, I hope this time is lucky too!

KenIsAnAccessory · 23/02/2025 15:50

@paintfairy wow definitely sounds like you're not imagining it. I have had some mild cramps but nothing to really complain about. My friend who has endometriosis has terrible debilitating cramps in early pregnancy - I've seen her collapse with them so it's definitely a 'thing'. Poor you!

paintfairy · 23/02/2025 16:04

@KenIsAnAccessory I have no idea if they are good or bad cramps. 🤣
@SkyeLight no I'm on 3 pessaries a day. I did a natural FET.

TSHconfusion · 23/02/2025 16:29

Hi everyone, hoping I can join the thread. Great to see some positive tests! Congratulations! And good luck to everyone still waiting.

I am having a FET tomorrow which will be our third transfer. Fresh and first FET failed so doing a double transfer this time. Really hoping this is the one for us

Cesas · 23/02/2025 17:13

@TSHconfusion it sounds like I'm on a very similar timeline to you! I had a transfer this morning. It's my third transfer too but my first FET. Both my other two were fresh transfers x

TSHconfusion · 23/02/2025 17:49

@Cesas oh we’re very similar then! How are you feeling? Have you had two egg collections then? Did you do any additional testing? Our consultant just keeps telling us it’s just luck and to keep transferring but I would really like some extra tests

Orangewillow · 23/02/2025 18:19

Good luck tomorrow @TSHconfusion!

My FET is Tuesday and I'm getting quite nervous now. Not about the actual transfer itself, I'm sure that'll be fine, but the waiting. I'm second guessing everything I'm doing already - to exercise, or not, what I'm eating/drinking... even though deep down I know none of that stuff will make a massive difference!

TSHconfusion · 23/02/2025 18:23

@Orangewillow thanks! Good luck to you too. Will this be your first FET?

I feel exactly the same! It’s so hard to know what’s best even though as you said it probably won’t make a difference! What are you thinking of doing re exercise?

Orangewillow · 23/02/2025 18:31

@TSHconfusion yes 1st FET. Been a bit of a challenge getting to transfer stage, had a cycle cancelled in Jan so this is take 2... lining still on the thin side so I'm worried my chances are lower than is ideal. But, I figure it's a better chance then if we don't try and the doctors said to go for it!

I'm going to do yoga, walking, and some light resistance exercises, mostly to keep moving and try and get some endorphins going/keep me occupied!

SkyeLight · 23/02/2025 19:59

Great to see there is more of us here. @Cesas fingers crossed it sticks!
@TSHconfusion @Orangewillow good luck with your transfers!

TSHconfusion · 23/02/2025 20:48

@Orangewillow sorry to hear you had a transfer cancelled I’m sure that was so disappointing but fingers crossed this will be the lucky one for you. Do you know what your lining was on? I had my lining scan last Monday which felt far in advance being a full week but they seemed happy enough with that.

@SkyeLight thank you!

BellaRosex · 23/02/2025 20:53

Good luck ladies with your upcoming transfers!! And @Cesas hope you're feeling OK post-transfer! X
