Hi all, looking to start a chat with anyone transferring February or March time. I have my baseline scan booked in next week and if all goes to plan then I'll start treatment & have my second frozen transfer on 4th March. My first FET in September 2024 sadly failed 😞
Any transfer buddies?

Congratulations @Feliciacat, that's great news!

@Willard89 how was the result?

I just had my seven week scan and it went well. Normal location, growth on target and normal heartbeat. I can’t quite believe it after three years ttc with no success!

Brilliant news @Feliciacat ! Congrats!

How are you feeling generally? I feel pretty rubbish, intense food aversions 😩

Feliciacat · 17/03/2025 17:21

I sleep most of the time! I have a job interview tomorrow and I barely know how I’ll cope as I’m so tired! Also, yes, crazy food aversions. I cannot stand garlic; it is the worst!

Unfortunately negative :( second failed transfer. It’s absolutely gut wrenching. Dreading going again already.

@Willard89 that’s terrible. I’m so sorry to hear it. You don’t have to rush to go again if that’s not right for you. I hope that you find some peace in other areas of life until you’re ready to go again.

I'm so sorry @Willard89 💔❤️. Take the time you need to grieve and process this. I know it's difficult but each step is one more step towards your baby. I pray the next round is the one for you ❤️. Take care of yourself x

Ladies, could I ask a question for anyone who had to take supplemental progesterone please?
My pre test blood test came back and my progesterone is slightly (only 3 points) low so they want me to supplement the cyclogest I'm already taking. Which isn't a problem, but I have a choice of medications and I'm not sure which one to go for.
We are self funding and the price difference is significant (over £1k) otherwise I'd just pick the easy one.
Has anyone ever taking Prontogest? Its one that needs to go into the muscle, so the backside. Is it possible to administer yourself? The clinic suggested it would be best for my partner to administer it but he is terrible with needles and will find this incredibly stressful (he went absolutely sheet white when the nurse was originally showing us how to do the stims). I have no problem at all with injecting myself, but the nurse implied it would be tricky given the location. Anyone have any experience they can share?

If the cost difference wasn't so significant it would not be a choice at all, but I've got to be pragmatic in case this doesn't work.

@uhhuhyeahok I'm on Lubion so I can't help with Prontogest, I'm sorry.

Is it progesterone in oil? If so, it seems to be commonly used in the US so maybe you could try to read about it on Reddit? I read their ivf board and they often talk about PIO.

@uhhuhyeahok I had to have prontogest injections and I think it woukd have been very hard to do myself as it needs to go in quite a specific part of your bum to avoid nerves etc, and it's a big needle (needs a firm pressure to get it all out as it is oil based). It also is a bit uncomfortable so u found lying down and relaxing completely when the needle went in was the best option. Good luck!

@Willard89 so sorry for your BFN. I hadn't been in the headsspace to post here before but mine was also a BFN a couple of weeks ago, its so so hard. Working out my next steps now, I've definitely rushed into it (had a hysteroscopy this week to investigate scarring that might have caused my rhin lining issues) and seeing about further tests but there is a strong argument for taking some time to heal and recuperate a bit! Sending love xx

uhhuhyeahok · 21/03/2025 10:04

Thanks @Orangewillow and @GreenLemonade. I've watched so many videos and they are all subtlety different, some I could definitely do myself and some definitely not.

I guess I'll just have to get the clinic to demo their preferred place and discuss my options. Self funding makes everything so much harder.

Feliciacat · 21/03/2025 10:06

@Orangewillowsorry to hear of your BFN. That’s sad. Definitely take some time to process. It’s so gruelling.
