Hi all ☺️

I have had an IVF round in November and had a freeze all cycle. I have had a meeting with the consultant this morning and will be doing a FET in late December/early Jan.

Please join this thread if you are on a similar timescale πŸ’«

Congrats with all the BFPs! What a lucky thread this has been! We can't post pictures because of a site wide ban after someone flooded the site with images of CSA over the weekend. So image sharing is turned off. I think you could possibly upload it to something like flickr and post a link? With line strength id say it's really hard to judge with a one off. You've no idea when your embryo actually implanted, so you might just be a day or two behind what you were expecting. The only way to gather more information is to test again in a few days and see if it's gotten stronger or not. I've had a chemical so I know how agonising it is :( I'm sending all the love in the world.

Ginny91 · 07/02/2025 07:59

@Purpleflowers17 Ok sounds positive to me!! A blood test sounds good to give you some reassurance, I’m hoping mines a bit darker tomorrow before getting in touch with the clinic, hoping and praying for all of us! Xxxxx

Mseddy · 07/02/2025 08:04

Looks like people on the conception board are using this site to host pictures if you want to share one

https://imgbb.com/

For what it's worth, I've been using FRERs I got off Amazon, they seem to be the new American packaging and I don't think they are as good as the old ones. The old ones with DD and my chemical I could see the test line come up as soon as the liquid passed it's, now it takes a good few mins for the test line to develop. It's thrown me off a bit thinking my tests are really light, but 5 mins later they look ok. I can post a picture of my day 8 test from this morning if that helps for comparison? X

@Mseddy thanks for your help. Hope you are feeling a bit better now? Any comparisons would be appreciated my mind is going wild πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

Mseddy · 07/02/2025 08:15

@Purpleflowers17 I think that's a nice strong line! I don't think you need to be stressing. The change in mine from 5 to 6 to 8dpt are so subtle. I think yours looks fine for 10dpt. I'll try and post a picture now.

I'm feeling much better thank you, tired and still sore but like a different person than a few days ago.

That's 5dp5dt, 6dp5dt and this morning at 8dp5dt.

This picture with my hand in is from my chemical in 2020. You can see how light my line is at 9dt5dt. I honestly think yours is miles from that!

Congrats everyone, seems like lots of lovely news this morning. Really pleased for you all and now also desperate to test!

Can someone explain a chemical to me please? Guessing it just a chemical error in your body as opposed to a pregnancy and your test picks it up giving a false positive?

That also makes me scared to test as I don't know if I could handle having a line that disappeared the next day...

I'm still trying to figure out my testing strategy here. First time and I'm now 5dp5dt.

Daniki · 07/02/2025 08:36

@Purpleflowers17 that looks like strong line I wouldn't be worrying with that πŸ™ŒπŸ» tentative congrats!

@OneWaryCat is a chemical is a chemical pregnancy, basically a very early miscarriage. Quite common and only really noticed if you're a serial early tester and because tests have got a lot more sensitive, usually it would be from chromosomes xx

Mseddy · 07/02/2025 08:52

@OneWaryCat it's an early miscarriage not a false positive. My consultant increased my progesterone following my chemical for my next transfer as he said it was likely lack of progesterone. Other reasons can be chromosomal abnormalities. My consultant this time around told me how much things have changed in the 5 years since my chemical, how they monitor progesterone levels now as it's shown to reduce chemical pregnancy rates.

Waitingformystork · 07/02/2025 08:55

Congratulations @Eagerlywaiting1990 @Ginny91 and @Purpleflowers17 ! That's such amazing news.

I can't provide any insight on what the test should look like at 10dpt, but the images uploaded look good to me!

Cosyseason1234 · 07/02/2025 09:17

@Purpleflowers17 @Eagerlywaiting1990 @Ginny91 I know ive said it in the other thread but congratulations again πŸ₯°πŸ₯Ή

completely agree with @Mseddy the Amazon ones are very disappointing! My faves have been the boots early tests, they show lovely line progression with no evap line. I wouldn’t worry too much about what others lines look like and do another tomorrow for your own progression? Everyone implants different days etc and different times of day show different line progression and some tests are just not as good as others. Can you tell I’ve done many many tests over the last week and a half 🀣

paintfairy · 07/02/2025 09:44

@Purpleflowers17 lines are pretty variable which is why they tell you not to test early. I think my clinic is literally like 14 days after the transfer? By then you'll either have a bloody good line or nothing. 🀣 But yours looks fine to me?

@Mseddy I had to laugh, with visions of your friends etc all wondering how many teeth you can possibly have left by now. 🀣

I actually went out at Christmas time with my first (few years back now) and it was very early stages. I somehow managed to wangle buying my own drinks or having a 'break'from alcohol for odd rounds. I drank pretend gin and lemonade (asked them for a proper gin glass at the bar), mocktails, and all sorts! I was well impressed with my stealth. Imagine my annoyance when they organised a night out later in January and it was table service and I had to just drive and say I had no choice but to drive. Which made them all very suspicious. 🀣

MS2692 · 07/02/2025 10:05

@Purpleflowers17 that’s how mine looked at 10dp5dt and at 13dp5dt I had a blood test and it was 435 HCG and now 17dp5dt they are much darker lines in FRER. What I decided to do to give me reassurance that HCG is rising without spending £££s on private blood tests is using the CB weeks indicator! I did one at 8dp5dt and it was 1-2wks and again at 12dp5dt and it was 2-3wks so will try one again at 19dp5dt and hopefully it will show 3+wks

Cosyseason1234 · 07/02/2025 10:16

I’ve got brown spotting again 😞 aware that it could be fine but also painfully aware that it could be start of miscarriage. Got a doctors appointment this afternoon but I don’t even think I want a scan at 4+5 if they referred me to EPAU?!

OP posts:
MS2692 · 07/02/2025 10:23

@Cosyseason1234 i am so sorry you’re going through this worry! I know it’s so easy to say and hard to do but please try not to worry brown spotting seems to not be uncommon and no cause for alarm but completely appreciate that I would feel the same! Have you got an appt today for it? Xx

Waitingformystork · 07/02/2025 10:24

@Mseddy and @paintfairy thank you for the ideas! I'll probably buy alcohol free beer, and try to order away from the group. But in case they ask, I might use the tooth abscess antibiotic one!

@Cosyseason1234 I'm sorry to hear about the spotting, I really hope it's not the start of a miscarriage and you can get some reassurance that it's OK. If it's a haematoma that would show up on a scan. Hopefully your fertility clinic will carry it out for you!

Cosyseason1234 · 07/02/2025 10:33

@MS2692 @Waitingformystork thank you for your kind words ❀️

its a telephone appointment as we are away for the weekend, also I feel as it’s so early there’s nothing they can do so if the worse happens I’d rather it just happened than have a scan where they can’t give me any reassurance as it is?! If that makes sense 🀣

trying to take some peace in that lines are still very strong on tests and I’ve got no pain, plus I am on PCOS spectrum which causes spotting most days in normal cycle anyway.

OP posts:
MS2692 · 07/02/2025 10:35

@Cosyseason1234 yes I completely understand it’s a hard limbo period between OTD and 7wk scan isn’t it cos they can’t tell anything! Xx

Daniki · 07/02/2025 10:40

@Cosyseason1234 that's so worrying tho I would be like you and unable to relax. The EPU will always say not to worry with brown spotting, especially when using progesterone. I don't think they will scan you as they wouldn't see anything but ask will they repeat blood tests to check your HCG is increasing? 🀞🏻

Purpleflowers17 · 07/02/2025 11:00

Thanks ladies for so much reassurance. I appreciate the support. Hoping it’s all in my mind and I’m just cracking upπŸ˜‚
My clinic have been great and I have just had a Beta HCG blood test should get results tomorrow and booked me for another Monday. Until then I will try and avoid tests. πŸ™„

Cosyseason1234 · 07/02/2025 11:23

Thanks @Daniki ❀️ my clinic won’t accept a positive test until 16dp5dt (which is tomorrow) and don’t do HCG blood tests. They did say congratulations and not to worry about the brown discharge though.

clearblue is saying 2-3 weeks which is bang on for 4+5 so just going to hope it changes to 3+ on Monday I guess xx

OP posts:
Daniki · 07/02/2025 11:27

@Cosyseason1234 it's so annoying! 16dp5dt is insane tho 🀣 like it's obviously positive from 12dpt, which a lot of clinics test at! Brown is old blood which is good plus ivf pregnancies have much higher incidences of spotting xx

Ginny91 · 07/02/2025 11:37

@Purpleflowers17 your line looks great! And glad that you got the blood test sorted so quick, well done :)

Thanks everyone for the good wishes today! I'm so distracted this morning I can't quite believe it πŸ’›

@Cosyseason1234 ahh sorry you've got spotting but agree with all the other posts, hope you can relax a bit over the weekend xx

OneWaryCat · 07/02/2025 11:44

Thank you for explaining @Mseddy.

I've been thinking I might do an CB early pregnancy test on Sunday and start testing from then. It will be 7dp5dt. Not sure if I will tell my husband what the result is either way. He wants to wait until OTD but I think if it's showing as negative I'd rather know in advance.
