I have had an IVF round in November and had a freeze all cycle. I have had a meeting with the consultant this morning and will be doing a FET in late December/early Jan.

@OneWaryCat your post brought a tear to my eye as I relate completely.

I haven’t told anyone about this entire journey to protect myself from the pain of having to constantly explain and update people. Although people would of course be supportive unless you’ve gone/going through it yourself there’s a naivety around it, as if it’s a guarantee that with IVF it will work and the stress and worry of it working or not working.

Also my husband is very much not a talker and doesn’t get emotional so he’s very practical in the sense of “no point stressing just wait until we know” which is SO frustrating and coupled with not sharing it with anyone else makes you feel isolated and alone in it!

I have my transfer this afternoon, which I'm feeling excited about, as it's the closest I'll have ever gotten to being pregnant. Although I'll have to keep myself busy until then!

Good luck to those testing today/this weekend! I have my fingers crossed for bfps for you all.

@Daniki how are you feeling? You must be 3dp transfer now.

@Eagerlywaiting1990 I also know what you mean about expecting a loss before you know the outcome. I think it is easier for me to expect a negative, than be really positive about the outcome and have further to come down if it's negative. As this is our first transfer, I doubt it'll work. But I'm looking forward to taking the next step to try and become parents.

@paintfairy have you had your transfer date confirmed yet?

This is dragging on forever. 🤣 So- I had a scan today. Lining isn't thick enough so they can't trigger before the weekend. I will ovulate over the weekend on my own but they need to know when and can't check. So I'm having to have injections today up to Sunday, to stop ovulation. Then another scan Monday. If all looks ok, trigger Monday night and then the transfer will be the following Monday. 🤞
Monday is obviously the worst day for me to do anything logistically. 🙄🤣

But I'm just hoping things go to plan because I really don't want to start again next month! Plus it's cost another £180 in medication.

Hang in there @MS2692. I try not to talk to my husband about my fears too much as I'm trying to keep him positive. He's absolutely desperate to be a father.

It is hard having to keep people 'updated' as so much seems to change every day. One day we were flying high with 5 fertilised eggs and the next day, we lost 3.

My OTD is 13th Feb.

I had a dream last night that I tested positive but then misplaced the test so couldn't show my husband, and then when I looked again I wasn't sure if it was a positive or an evap line, and then the kits all fell into the sea and got washed away and I had no more to test with......pretty normal then 😂

@MS2692 @OneWaryCat we didn't tell anyone about IVF for the original round. So we can't tell anyone now as it looks a bit weird. 🤣 But i found it easier no one knowing as people weren't asking what was happening etc. The only thing i found hard since is people keep saying oh have another, and you knowing it really isn't that easy! I took my support from online support, groups like this. And one real life friend knows as does a few from my original baby group that I attended.

@paintfairy I'm sorry it's such a palaver, I hope the anti ovulation drugs work so you can trigger on Monday. It's always the way that these things work out to be at the most inconvenient time 😂

We have told people we're going through ivf, but not where we are with treatment as I also don't want all the questions. The only person that knows is my sister, but she's also going through ivf as well. If we were ttc without ivf, you wouldn't get so many people checking in to see if you're pregnant yet. So we'll tell them the outcome when we're ready, similar to if it happened naturally.

@Waitingformystork hope the transfer went well?

Yeah it's definitely protective. Don't count yourself out just cause it's your first go though, it happens for plenty people on their first....hopefully you'll be one of them 🥰 xx

Oh my god that's insane money for meds ladies! Jesus we are blessed in Ireland to have drugs payment scheme, it's capped at €80 a month and I pay that anyway for my stoma supplies so the meds are free basically!

@Waitingformystork yes 3dpt! Getting the itch to test 😂 I got a faint positive 4dp evening think it was negative in the morning so going to try and make myself wait until sat at least 🤣 and evening is always a better time to test! How did your transfer go? You are officially pregnant until proven otherwise 🙌🏻🙌🏻

We are on day 13 of no bloody power here and I am literally about to pull my hair out

My transfer went well, officially PUPO! And I'm currently just feeling happy. We got a recording of the play back of the transfer. It's pretty amazing!

Now to tackle not drinking this weekend when we have friends visiting, and it's going to be pub heavy... I think I'm going to go with I feel like I'm starting to come down with something. Or hopefully they won't comment as they know we're going through treatment.

@Daniki I'm jealous of your meds payment scheme! We ended up going private, although we're eligible for nhs funding, because the wait for our first appointment is over a year after referral. Then you know there will be more tests and it'll take a while to get funding approval, and we just didn't want to have to wait another 1 or 2 years for one round of ivf (that's only one transfer, some ccgs class a round as transferring all the embryos created from that round of ivf). We're still on the waiting list now to be seen by the hospital.

I hope you get power back soon! That is frustrating

@Waitingformystork "I'm on antibiotics for a bad tooth" is what I usually go for! You really can't drink on them kind of antibiotics it makes you really poorly.

Congrats ladies!! What's dpt are ye? I have a migraine this morning, really hope this doesn't mean it didn't work as I always get migraines before period due etc 😭 tempted to test but only 4dpt today 🤣

@Daniki thank you!! We are both 10dp5dt, my OTD is tomorrow so I will test again then and probably Sunday for good measure. Sorry to hear you have a migraine, I had a crap headache yesterday but think it was the stress of everything, hope it’s that and not your AF xx

@Ginny91 @Eagerlywaiting1990 i have a confession I also tested this morning and got a BFP!! I should be delighted but..
I have however gone from shock to pure panic. I think my tests are far too light for 10dp5dt I can’t seem to post a photo not sure why? I need some handholding it looks like I might be having a chemical. 😭 I have never had a BFP and now it looks like it was too good to be true.

Ahhh this is great@Purpleflowers17 but no I’m with you!! My line is faint in pictures but can’t post it either, but I can tell it’s there, what brand did you test with??

@Ginny91 FRER for one and an Amazon one . They are both there you can see them but I would have expected darker at this stage.
I might book for a private Beta my clinic don’t do blood tests.
Only with ivf can you go from almost pure joy to panic in the space of 5 minutes 🙄🤦🏼‍♀️
