Hi all ☺️

I have had an IVF round in November and had a freeze all cycle. I have had a meeting with the consultant this morning and will be doing a FET in late December/early Jan.

Please join this thread if you are on a similar timescale πŸ’«

@Sherr33 surprised they didn't do one before transfer. However in regards to symptoms your body might just be a bit more used to the progesterone this time and so not reacting as much. I had zero symptoms last time and it was successful. This time I only needed 10 days of estrogen for lining whereas last time I needed 20 days so I really do think it varies cycle to cycle. I know nothing alleviates the worry but I hope this gives some reassurance ❀️

I didn't think of it like that. I hope it is just that. I keep going from trying to be positive to worrying so much.

paintfairy · 16/01/2025 14:18

Unfortunately the blood test wasn't what they wanted from me so we are having to abandon this month and try again next month. 😩

paintfairy · 16/01/2025 14:29

@Sherr33 the clinics are really frustrating sometimes, when it seems they aren't as invested as you are. But I agree it'll vary so don't assume it's all bad.
@SamVan I'm sorry you are out.

I'm sorry. This must have been the progesterone blood test they did? Sorry but we're you doing a natural protocol? It's quite taxing mentally this whole journey. X

I just hate when they brush everything I say aside. But I continue...flitting between remains hopeful to guarded πŸ€£πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

Yes. I must have just already ovulated. Only just. 🀣 But he didn't want to risk it. Which is fair enough and better to be safe. But I now have to go through the same thing again next time. πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ He said they'll scan from day 6 next time though. Of course all of it hinges on none of it falling on a weekend.

SlinkMcSlink · 16/01/2025 14:43

@Sherr33 i hope it’s implantation!

My scan was positive, measuring 9.7 so thick enough for transfer next week.

Elena3 · 16/01/2025 15:06

@Sherr33 Thank you x

@Cosyseason1234 thank you x I am doing well, I think I really enjoyed this one month break from it all, it was good to have some rest and enjoy Christmas/New Year and some Proseccos/mulled wine :) I think I am in this mindset that the most difficult days of the process are over (the week after egg collection was hellish), and mentally I am not in this state of shock anymore.

Hopefully some good news for both of us, your transfer I think is going to happen earlier than mine, do you have the date yet?

@SlinkMcSlink yay, ready to go! Best of luck!

Waitingformystork · 16/01/2025 17:30

AF was on time, which means I'm starting to prep for my FET. Has anyone taken letrozole before? I think I've been prescribed it because I tend to ovulate late, normally cd18-20, although the past few cycles I've ovulated on cd22, so I think it's meant to bring my ovulation forwards.

Also how are you managing the lying down for 30 mins after putting in a pessary, whilst at work?

@SamVan I'm sorry to hear about your negative :( but I'm glad to hear that you feel OK about it. The only other egg quality recommendations I've heard are diet related; low sugar, increase nuts, increase protein from plants/fish/poultry, reduce red meat intake, eat whole grains, the Mediterranean diet is meant to be good. But we're not robots, it's hard to follow all the advice for months on end. So I wouldn't stress too much about making changes if you're largely healthy

@paintfairy I'm sorry your FET has been delayed. Fingers crossed for next time!

Cosyseason1234 · 16/01/2025 18:45

@SamVan your mindset is amazing πŸ‘πŸ» I work in healthcare so try and remind myself that yes infertility is unfair but actually life is a lot more unfair for others and that helps when I’m feeling abit sorry for myself! If this transfer doesn’t work we are going to go on a lovely summer holiday and go again then I think.

@Elena3 I have loved the break as well! Didn’t realise how much I needed it after stims and EC. When is your scan? All being well we transfer next Friday 🀞

@SlinkMcSlink glad ir went well! Have you got a transfer day?

@SamVan I'm sorry to read about your negative but glad you're feeling mentally ok. 🀞🏻 I took NMN supplements for 3 months prior to starting IVF and it improved my AMH and all my embroyos are top quality grades (not tested tho so who knows haha) I really believe it helped my egg quality!

SlinkMcSlink · 16/01/2025 19:40

@Cosyseason1234 Yes, it’s Wednesday 22nd. I’ll get a phone call on Monday to give me a certain time to arrive as I have to be sedated. So I never actually witness transfer as I’m out of it. Don’t know if that’s a good or bad thing.

Orangewillow · 16/01/2025 20:08

SamVan · 16/01/2025 13:20

@Cosyseason1234 @Mseddy @Hopefullyonedaysoon thanks guys! It sucks but it’s fine. I’ve decided to make the most of my freedom and enjoy my time until it works. Actually feel mentally ok about it. The first fet was the roughest mentally as I had a chemical but I’m just treating these transfers as a process now. Fresh round in April with hopefully better results! I’ve started coq10 but keen for any other recs to improve egg quality. My husband is getting every sperm test under the sun at the moment πŸ˜‚

@Cosyseason1234 I was in the Maldives, it was lush. Being away is great for cushioning the blow.

@SamVan so sorry this time didn't work for you. Just wanted to pop in a recommendation for Ovum supplement which includes loads of the vitamins recommended in it starts with the egg, including coq10 which I supplemented with an extra 200mg (Jarrow Formulas Ubiquinol) plus extra omega 3 and probiotics. Who knows if it made the difference, but my second egg collection when I'd been taking that a couple of months gave us some pretty decent embryos (not transferred ones, but good graded and pgta tested). I've also heard good things about Ova which is backed by fertility nutritionist Alison Hall. Hope that helps

Mseddy · 13/01/2025 20:56

Welcome @TheseCalmSeas glad the oestrogen is being kind to you! Mine has given me crazy vivid dreams. My poor DH is in the dog house for something he did in my dream πŸ˜‚ lightheartedly obviously, I know he did nothing wrong

Omg! I’m having mad dreams too and didn’t put the two together!

I was getting married to Greg Davies last night and now quite fancy him

Mseddy · 16/01/2025 23:01

@TheseCalmSeas it's crazy isn't it! Luckily I've only had the one sad one so far with my DH having a new partner! The rest have all been quite nice haha

SlinkMcSlink · 17/01/2025 11:24

Is anyone else on lubion? I started this morning. I did have it last time but can’t remember any side effects.

I am. I'm not having anything as noticeable as last time tbh. Just slightly more gassy. Nothing else really. Good luck x

SamVan · 17/01/2025 16:47

Thanks for the recommendations @Orangewillow @Daniki @Waitingformystork for the recommendations!! I’ll be looking them up and trying to get myself in tip top shape for my next round - although also remembering that there’s only so much we can do and a lot of it is just genetics or luck!

@paintfairy sorry to hear about the delay! Can you ask if they can do an hcg trigger for your natural cycle? I do that with mine and it allows us to avoid the weekends.

@Cosyseason1234 thank you ❀️ and yes I agree on the grand scheme of things we are so lucky to even have access to ivf! I just know I have to keep going and it’s a matter of time.

@monicabella1234 hoping you had a good test result!

paintfairy · 17/01/2025 16:54

@SamVan I had one. But my body beat them to it. I have short cycles. I had to use it anyway in a hope all was ok, so I'll have to pay for another for next time. πŸ™„

I was on it last transfer but I was started to get raised and itchy after using it for a while so they switched me to ustregestan or however it's spelled!

cleggrickman · 17/01/2025 19:53

Had my scan today and my womb is measuring a peachy 13mm! Booked in for transfer next Friday. Start pessaries and lubion on Sunday xx

Cosyseason1234 · 17/01/2025 21:45

Woooo @cleggrickman transfer twins πŸ‘―

OP posts:
TheseCalmSeas · 18/01/2025 08:54

Similar here @cleggrickman! Measuring 11mm and booked in for next Thursday. Starting progesterone today.

Looking forward to it but also dreading the wait to test already

Cosyseason1234 · 19/01/2025 10:46

Well…I’ve started suppositories this morning. Can safely say that they are my least fave of all the many medications so far in this 🀣🀣

@Cosyseason1234 πŸ˜‚ they are not nice! When is your transfer?

Had my transfer on Friday so now 2dp5dt and already sick of waiting
