Anyone starting stims in November?

I started stims last night. I'm on a long protocol. Started in October with norethisterone and then Buserelin. This is my second IVF cycle.

First cycle I didn't take the Buserelin, had 8 eggs collected, 3 blasts, none normal (1 high level mosaic in the freezer)

I'm on a 2 cycles package, so hoping this one is the lucky one 🙂

Hey! Me I'll be starting my 3rd cycle towards end of the month! Never getting to transfer day in my last 2 cycles so changed clinics from Ireland to Greece,
Best of luck on you're cycle✨️ any idea on collection date?

bubu24 · 05/11/2024 13:57

Hey @Clocloxx! Great to have a cycle buddy 🙂
When are you travelling to Greece? Are you doing a freeze all cycle or staying for a transfer too?
I heard Greece has really good clinics/doctors so fingers crossed this cycle is the successful one!

Looks like collection for me will be on the 17th but might be earlier depending on how I respond to meds.

Hiya I'm down regulating at the min, start stims on the 19th Nov. Also my second cycle

CakePigeon30 · 05/11/2024 18:23

@Clocloxx also didn't make it to transfer last time. Fingers crossed for this cycle!

bubu24 · 05/11/2024 18:49

Hey @CakePigeon30 glad to have another cycle buddy! :)
Are you on the same treatment plan as last cycle or did they change anything this time round?
Either way, fingers crossed this time it works!

@bubu24 Hiya, I only got two eggs last time but had a lot of follicles, they think that some of the eggs weren't mature enough so were stuck to the follicle wall. They have put me on a higher does of stims and then they are leaving a longer time between trigger and egg collection. All my medication still the same. Prostrap for down regulation and Meriofert for stims.

bubu24 · 06/11/2024 12:26

@CakePigeon30 sorry to hear about your first cycle, very unlucky. They do say 1st cycle they learn how you respond to meds etc, so it's positive they've made changes. I hope you have a great round this time round!

I'm been optimistic hoping my cycle will stay regular and pre booked November 29th to fly out because if I leave it last minute it's way to expensive from Ireland, I see uk Flys out to Greece twice daily 🥲 but should be starting stims roughly in 2 weeks! I'm hoping to do a fresh transfer and 2 embryos if i can get them, I don't think I would ever ohss because I've really low amh and my last to cycles I was on high stims only got 2 eggs 😳 are you doing fresh?
@CakePigeon30 sorry to hear you didn't make it to transfer day either! I feel like I'm slowly getting a bit further with each cycle, my 1st all failed to fertilized the second I made a terrible looking embryo on day 6 they threw it out, I hope we all get our little Christmas miracle this time round ✨️ it's kind of daunting having it so close to Christmas, I'm scared it won't go well and just put a damper on Christmas, anyone feel like that? Xx

spamOFtheDAY · 07/11/2024 11:19

Hi
I'm also about to start my 2nd cycle after a failed fresh cycle last month
Start stims 16th

Good luck for this cycle!!!!!

CakePigeon30 · 07/11/2024 18:17

@Clocloxx
I'm hoping we get more eggs this time too. Last time both eggs fertilised but neither made it past day 3.
I know how you feel about close to Christmas, at the minute our test day is scheduled for 21st dec (although this might change depending on when egg collection/transfer will be) so will either be the best or the worst Christmas ever!!

CakePigeon30 · 07/11/2024 18:17

@spamOFtheDAY I start stims on 19th so a couple of days behind you.

tpeas · 07/11/2024 21:41

Hi all. I'm on the other thread but thought I'd come say hi here too. Start stims next week after downreg last 3 weeks. Will be good to get properly started, but like other posters nervous about the Christmas timing. This is my first cycle. Sending good wishes to you all!

bubu24 · 07/11/2024 21:50

@spamOFtheDAY glad to have you join us and fingers crossed this cycle is the successful one!

@Clocloxx sorry you have the added stress of having to time your travels as well... Have you visited the clinic before? Do you know your way around there?
We might end up having similar dates for transfer as I will be testing the embryos again so it will be an FET for me. Probably before Christmas as well.

How are you all doing emotionally?
For me it was so devastating to find out none of the embryos were normal last time, that I am finding it hard to be positive again. Or maybe it's just the meds getting me down a bit.
I downloaded an app with meditations for IVF hoping it will help. Let's see :)

How are you ladies coping with it all?

bubu24 · 07/11/2024 21:54

@tpeas glad to have you here! I didn't realise there was another thread as well...
So far sounds like all of us are looking for December transfers...
Are doing injections for downregulation or just pills?

OP posts:
CakePigeon30 · 08/11/2024 06:47

@tpeas hi think we spoke in the other November thread but I went on holiday and couldn't catch up with all the posts by the time I was back 😂 hope your down regulation has been going ok!

CakePigeon30 · 08/11/2024 06:50

@bubu24 there is another November thread but many of then have already had egg collection now. It's tricky when it's long protocol because goes over a couple of months!

Magix86 · 08/11/2024 08:23

Hi all! Hopefully I can join. I'm also in another November thread but I seem to be a bit later than the others. Not sure which one to be in - starting meds in November but due egg collection and transfer in early December, with a test day 20th December as it stands.
This is my first time doing IVF.
I started norethisterone yesterday and not sure I like it lol, had a headache all evening and started feeling a little sick too. Really hoping it doesn't continue for the next 10 days I take it!

bubu24 · 09/11/2024 11:09

@Magix86 welcome! So far it looks like everyone on this thread is going to transfer in December so we can keep each other company through it all 🙂
I vaguely remember not feeling
great on norethisterone first cycle either.
My answer to all headaches now is drinking lots of water and it seems to help. When it doesn't, I add electrolytes too. Maybe give that a go? Although hope you started feeling better anyway

OP posts:
Magix86 · 09/11/2024 15:20

Thanks @bubu24 ! Definitely working hard on drinking more water but will give electrolytes a go as I've read a few people commenting on those now, thank you. Haven't had any more headaches but still feeling quite sick. Glad I only have 9 more days of this medication!

tpeas · 09/11/2024 22:32

@bubu24 I've had one injection for downreg (prostap). All being well, start stims in a few days. Will be good to move to the more "active" phase if a little daunting. How are your stims going and how did you find downreg? Hope all goes well for you.
@CakePigeon30 hello again! Things have been ok thank you - I've had a bit of swelling and some other minor symptoms but nothing too bad - hope yours has been going ok too?

CakePigeon30 · 10/11/2024 08:24

@tpeas I'm ok thanks. Haven't had many symptoms really but I didn't last time either. Always worrying that it means it's not working though 😬

bubu24 · 10/11/2024 09:46

@tpeas I'm day 7 of stims now. I naively thought during the downregulation phase that I must have got used to injections as the buserelin injections were painless and I took them for 11 days with no issues.
The stims however definitely started to hurt a bit although it's the same needle size...I guess it's just a different consistency.
I had my scan yesterday and it's all looking well. I'm probably going to trigger on Friday but we'll see how it goes.

SamVan · 10/11/2024 18:20

Hi all! I’ve had my second egg collection and am currently waiting for the pgta results of my embryos. Hoping to transfer last week or November/first week of December. @CakePigeon30 i remember you from my first round ❤️ I hope this round is going well for you.

CakePigeon30 · 11/11/2024 17:23

@SamVan yes remember you from the July thread. Hope you are well!

SamVan · 11/11/2024 17:29

@CakePigeon30 I am thank you! I had one transfer after that round but it sadly ended in a chemical. I had two poor quality embryos in the freezer but decided to swap clinics and do a fresh round before attempting any other transfers. They tried me on a much higher stims dose this time (resulted in less eggs actually), and a dual trigger. We did end up with one more and better quality embryos but honestly this process feels like a guessing game.

all the best to everyone and hoping for Christmas miracles for us all ❤️
