Anyone doing FET/IVF in November 2024?✨

MrsBP15 · 19/10/2024 09:31

Hello MN

I started a thread for ivf in September but ended up having a freeze all cycle and lots of people on said thread have moved on to BFPs etc. Due to have FET at the start of November so hoping to chat to others in a similar situ ☺️

Bit about me: first ever round, been trying for 2 years, have blocked tubes and have 14 embryos in the freezer thanks to successful egg collection in September.

Sending baby dust and good vibes to one and all!!✨✨✨

@Annie1306 I am so sorry for the hurdle in your journey - egg donor is a great option

Thank you @Thatslifethatsit . We knew our odds. Our chances were in single figure and I had every possible hurdle in the way that one can think of. May be this is for good.

@pinksheetss hopefully they will manage to fit you in December! I had my egg collection there this week and they were very busy! 🤞

@Annie1306 sorry to hear that there was no egg, that will have been so difficult for you! Hope you have a speedy recovery and you are feeling okay!

I'm on the same time frame as a few of you, egg collection was wed where we got 5 eggs, 3 fertilised normally and one we are waiting to see what happens. Hoping for transfer on Mon 🤞

Autumn245 · 08/11/2024 21:50

@pinksheetss I'm also aberdeen and I find it strange that you had to phone to see if they had space for you this month. I had nurses video call on 3rd Oct (period started 7th Oct, so was too early for October tranfer) but I was provisionally booked in for November cycle. Phoned yesterday CD2 and booked on for scan on CD10. I would of thought they would of known based on your cycle dates if they would have space when you had your nurses call. Did they say when they close for Xmas? You might manage to get tranfer done just before 🤞

pinksheetss · 08/11/2024 21:56

@Autumn245 our nurses call was 24th Oct so I think just little too late to get in for Nov by time appointments sorted :(
22nd Dec is very last day for transfer, I'm due to start around 4th Dec but worried it might come later and I'm unsure how it all works and if it's cutting it for time. I'm on 30-32 day cycles

Autumn245 · 08/11/2024 22:14

@pinksheetss ah I see, yea they seem to like at least a 3-4 weeks to sort appointments out. Cutting it fine for December but it could still happen. Would you rather to a tranfer in December if you can or do you think it would cause too much stress?

Cesas · 08/11/2024 22:31

Yeah I've had two rounds of ivf now and both times I had my nurse appointment then my period was due 4 days later I had to book in for the following cycle. They were both full ivf rounds as we had nothing to freeze after our first round so maybe a little different.

Is it a natural frozen transfer you are doing?

pinksheetss · 09/11/2024 08:05

I think Dec transfer might be a bit too much stress but they are still pushing for that rather than waiting out for January :/

@Cesas to be fair I didn't expect it to be so quick after first appointment, when we did our IVF round it was during Covid and waiting lists were so long so I have waited long before. However consultant had said at the time get in for next period and initial nurses appointment had said they could maybe get me in for Nov also and I think just all the maybes and having to phone up etc. I'd have rather just be told need to wait longer

However I know how lucky a position I am in to be able to do this in the first place so going to have a good chill and get prepared for Christmas and then take the Dec period as it comes. :)

Will be keeping up with how everyone else gets on

monica3287 · 09/11/2024 08:37

morning all!

@Annie1306 i am really sorry to hear this - take it easy this weekend. and yes on egg donor, agree, I have a friend planning to do this next year.

we had our EC on Friday morning - we have had 13 mature and 9 fertilise. we have ET booked for Wednesday, but won’t hear again from the clinic until Weds morning with an update, so am aware will need to prepare ourselves for that - she repeated no idea of quality until then.

how is everyone else doing? and have a good Saturday all x

ClaireBear101 · 09/11/2024 09:31

@Annie1306 I'm sorry to hear. Sending love!

@Cesas we are same as you. Day 3 today 5 eggs and 3 fertilised.

Got call right now for Transfer at 12.30. 2 of the eggs have 8 cells and perfect for transfer so both going in. So happy as much more positive than first round. We waited till day 5 and they weren't great
They are 2 on quality scale. 1 being best and 4 being average so all sounding optimistic.

lumili · 09/11/2024 10:57

@Annie1306 so sorry to hear this, sending lots of love your way.

@Cesas fingers crossed for your transfer on Monday.

@ClaireBear101 are you having your transfer at 12.30 today, if so good luck.

we have just had the call and our transfer is going to be on Monday at midday, they will be calling us on Monday morning at 9am to tell us how many embryos we have. We have asked for 2 to be transferred (if we have 2), however they have advised that as we are under 40 they will only put one in!

ClaireBear101 · 09/11/2024 12:08

@lumili yes at clinic now so transfer soon.
We are having 2 embryos put in.
Different ireland to UK I guess as I am 36.
Just want it over now. Hate this part.

Scorbunny2 · 09/11/2024 12:41

Hey girls. My husbands aunt died this morning and we are terrified the retrieval and funeral will be the same day

lumili · 09/11/2024 14:40

@ClaireBear101 hope all goes well, sending sticky thoughts your way 😃

@Scorbunny2 sorry to read of your loss, fingers crossed they won’t be the same day!

Cesas · 09/11/2024 14:41

We just had our 3 day update and 3 are progressing well, ones a bit slow so very happy with that. Hoping they do okay over the next few days! 🤞

@ClaireBear101 Hope all went well with the transfer! 🤞

@lumili thank you! Good luck to you too! Yeah our clinic will only do a single transfer. It will be our second fresh transfer so Im happy with just transferring one currently.

@Scorbunny2 Im sorry to hear this. Hopefully that won't be the case, but if it I'm sure your family and clinic will be both understanding!

ClaireBear101 · 09/11/2024 18:56

Thanks for all the lovely messages. Bit sore today and dreading this w week wait now.
It's so hard to not think about it all the time haha. I'm like it's been a few hours and I wanna know haha.
Need to keep busy now!

@Scorbunny2 I'm sorry to hear that. Worse case I'm sure people will understand. So sorry for your loss. X

MrsBP15 · 09/11/2024 20:30

Welcome to the club @ClaireBear101 although maybe I’m different but I really feel like right now ignorance is bliss? Like I don’t know so I may as well act and think like I’m pregnant? I’m not sure if it’s the most healthy attitude or if it will last but I can’t test until 22nd so I’m going to try and hold onto it for as long as I can! Have you got a test date yet?

OP posts:
ClaireBear101 · 09/11/2024 20:41

@MrsBP15 I get that. I was like that last time and I was so upset when it was negative so not sure how to feel.
We did two IUI as well so 4th try really. Never gets easier.
My wife is feeling very positive and tbh I am to this time. Just everything so far as been more optimistic. The embryos last time were not great quality so it was just let's see what happens.
This time two good quality embryos in.
Also done by one of the best fertility doctors in Ireland. The clinic is his so that was a good omen and he was meticulous with the procedure. Took longer and hurt but he was very happy so yea ignorance is bliss but I don't wanna be too much and get a land. Ya know?

Our test date is 24th November so tomorrow 2 weeks.

Last goes i got my period before we ever made to 2 weeks so we shall see.

Autumn245 · 09/11/2024 20:47

Congrats on being PUPO @ClaireBear101 & @MrsBP15 is test day 15days after transfer? I find this a very long wait!

So sorry for your loss @Scorbunny2 do you know when tranfer day will be? It's possible you can do both on the same day depending on how early in morning clinic can get you in, and distance between the 2 places of course.

lumili · 10/11/2024 08:13

@MrsBP15 and @ClaireBear101 there is no right or wrong way to be during the 2 week wait, I can imagine it will feel like the longest 2 weeks ever. Are you both just carrying on as normal or have you taken any time off work? I really wish you all the luck in the world.

i am feeling so nervous, knowing nothing about the embryos since Friday is hard! Although we are booked in for egg transfer tomorrow at midday, we won’t know if we have any embryos left until tomorrow at 9am, when we get the call from the clinic. I am hoping that we will have some left from the 11 embryos!

@lumili I'm continuing as normal. If I took time off I'd go mad. Need something to keep my mind occupied. I work from home anyway so still taking it easy. And work have been amazing so no client trips etc for a while so I can relax.
Also have plans as much as possible.
Next weekend we have family over for dinner and going to wonderlights (light display for Christmas) and just things like that that are easy going.

MrsBP15 · 10/11/2024 09:03

Thanks @Autumn245 yes it’s 15 days after for me, will try and resist the urge to test early. @ClaireBear101 this is my first ever round so that’s probable why I’m feeling the way I am at the moment but who knows, ask me in a week 🤪 I hope it passes reasonably quickly for you and that you manage to do some nice/fun things. @lumili im currently signed off work for stress for another week. I work in an office five days a week in a pretty high energy/busy environment so taking it easy for another week is very welcome! My husband is off tomorrow so I’ll spend the day with him then it’ll be a combination of seeing a few people, doing yoga, going for walks, sleeping etc. I’ll then be back at work the second week and that will certainly keep me v busy! Test on 22nd (unless period comes before then) x

Hi everyone, I hope it's okay for me to join?
My hubby and I are beginning the IVF journey on Tuesday, starting with estrogen priming. But I have a quick question.
So, I had a HyCoSy done in September and I've heard people say they are more fertile for a few months after that. Coincidentally perhaps, this month is the first that I have had proper ewcm. So we proceeded accordingly and have TTC naturally.
I am due to start estrogen priming on day 21 of my cycle, which will be approx 7dpo. Would this harm my chances of potential natural conception this month? Of course very wishful thinking but I thought I should ask.
Anyone have any knowledge on this? 🤞🏼

Thank you girls. X

Scorbunny2 · 10/11/2024 10:20
