Hello MN

I started a thread for ivf in September but ended up having a freeze all cycle and lots of people on said thread have moved on to BFPs etc. Due to have FET at the start of November so hoping to chat to others in a similar situ ☺️

Bit about me: first ever round, been trying for 2 years, have blocked tubes and have 14 embryos in the freezer thanks to successful egg collection in September.

Sending baby dust and good vibes to one and all!!✨✨✨

Thanks everyone!
Also best of luck to all with their EC today and tomorrow. So any of us all around same time.
I'm eagerly awaiting to hear how many fertilised. Will update later.

@lumili fab news and great you have so many!

@MrsBP15 don't be nervous, you got this!! Let us know and my fingers. Are crossed.

I know it's cliche but it is true that it's all about quality over quantity. I'm especially telling myself that haha 😄

ClaireBear101 · 07/11/2024 10:13

So out of the 5 eggs. All were mature.
2 are doing great and fertilising.
One little bit slower.
2 we can forget about.
Feeling good though as seems to be much more positive than last time.
Will get an update tomorrow and Saturday again and transfer either Saturday or Monday/Tuesday.

Thatslifethatsit · 07/11/2024 11:04

@ClaireBear101 sounds like it’s going well 🤞

Scorbunny2 · 07/11/2024 14:51

@Clairebear101 that's great news. I'm up tomorrow for scan of number and sizing of follicles. A wee bit nervous to be honest

monica3287 · 07/11/2024 15:10

ahh good news @ClaireBear101 - have you got some low key activities to keep your mind occupied over these next few days? I'm still watching trashy Halloween movies.

I'm feeling pretty crappy today! anyone else feel like this after their trigger shot? I've got a call in half an hour, and then I think I might hit the sofa.

@Scorbunny2 understandable to feel nervous - hope all goes well, and where you need it to be!

@monica3287 I've got work and hallmark movies hahaha. I've moved on to Cheesy Christmas movies 🤣🤣

Trigger shot did make me feel a lil crap to be fair.
Actually feel fine after the EC so happy about that. Getting out for small walks with dog as well nothing strenuous.

Sorry you feel bad! Sending hugs.

@Scorbunny2 i get the nerves i was the same. Hugs!!

Emerald1986 · 07/11/2024 17:07

Trial egg transfer went fine today. Last day on norethisterone tomorrow and hoping to start cycle day 1 on Tuesday if everything goes to plan. Fingers crossed for everyone!

lumili · 07/11/2024 17:15

@ClaireBear101 that’s is great news, praying that those little embryos keep growing nicely.

@Scorbunny2 good luck for your scan tomorrow.

@Emerald1986 glad your trial egg transfer went fine today!

we got the call from the embryologist today and we actually have 11 eggs that have fertilised, so they are growing them until day 5 and egg transfer will be monday. Honestly cannot believe it!!

hope everyone is doing ok!

pinksheetss · 07/11/2024 17:43

So I called this morning and unfortunately no space for me this month :( it was a different nurse I got and she wasn't as optimistic as the others and knew instantly with how she was speaking :(

They want to continue to keep me booked in for Dec transfer so will call up when Dec period starts. Although I did miss a call from them today at 4.15, unsure what it's about but couldn't phone back as nursing line is closed then and there was no voicemail or email left.

Thatslifethatsit · 07/11/2024 18:38

@Scorbunny2 hope tomorrow goes well totally normal to be nervous
@monica3287 normal to feel crap I feel full same as last time i’m guessing it’s the follicles making me feel full
@lumili excellent news
@pinksheetss that is so disappointing but might be worth pursuing them in the morning

MrsBP15 · 07/11/2024 18:52

Evening all well I’ve had my transfer. All went well, I think initially they were struggling a little to get a clear picture and then they said something about the cervix opening being quite tight (apparently there are two openings?! I had no idea) but then it went in and they gave us a scan picture too. We also watched the embryo scope footage when we got home which was SO cool! I feel fine now, just tired so lying on the sofa watching Harry Potter ☺️

Wishing everyone so much luck in the coming days with everything 🩷

Oh and had some Maccy D’s fries afterwards. I’m sure it’s an old wives tale but I thought I’d give it a shot 😂🍟

@MrsBP15 you deserve a treat after everything we put our bodies through!
fingers crossed for your transfer

ClaireBear101 · 07/11/2024 20:40

@MrsBP15 That's great that's it's all done.
Glad you treated yourself afterwards. Its a tough journey.
Now is your two week wait. Hardest part haha.

lumili · 07/11/2024 21:07

@MrsBP15 hope you enjoyed the fries 😃 we will do the same on Monday. Glad the transfer went well, now is the hard part the awful wait!!

@pinksheetss sorry you haven’t been able to get a slot secured for Nov, that’s very annoying and I have never heard that before especially considering you are funding it yourself. I do think it still worth calling again tomorrow to speak with someone else.

pinksheetss · 08/11/2024 07:16

@MrsBP15 wishing you all the best for a sticky embryo! Deserved chips there after.

Yeah the clinic thing is frustrating as seems to depend who we speak to. The lady we spoke to yesterday also said they are changing their protocol in Jan also so you won't get booked in for any specific month you'd need to phone when you get your period and they say if they have space for that time which I think will end up quite stressful for people if you call and there's no space. She told me I'd be fine for January but I have been having a look and I don't think I would, my period would be due to start around 4th-6th Dec and I'm sure that would push transfer dates to around Christmas :( so I want January but she said if I change to January then it would be their new procedure I'd have to go to so would need to call when period due and try see if space is there

Thatslifethatsit · 08/11/2024 09:22

@pinksheetss can you change clinic? Sounds quite stressful which doesn’t help the process for you

Scorbunny2 · 08/11/2024 12:23

@Pinksheetss that sounds sooo stressful.

I had scan, I've about 11 follicles between 12 & 13mm so back for scan on Monday and egg retrieval maybe Wednesday.

I feel so much pressure today in the tummy.

MrsBP15 · 08/11/2024 12:27

Thank you @Thatslifethatsit @ClaireBear101 @pinksheetss @lumili for your well wishes. Feeling tired today but didn’t sleep well last night. I know this may change but I’m really not feeling like I’m going to want to test. Feel like ignorance is bliss you know? We’ll see if it stays that way next week!

@pinksheetss im so sorry to hear about you being messed around by your clinic. I know it’s been said before but I’ve never heard of clinics not fitting people in especially if you’re paying for it, seems ridiculous! I would probably be looking at other options but you obviously have to do what’s right for you, take good care 🩷

I don't think I can change clinic, I'm in north east Scotland so this would be only local clinic :(
We were with them for our NHS funded and they were great but yeah this unknown is really stressful and I wrongly assumed that it would be a bit less stressful this time in terms of knowing when and wait lists etc
I have emailed and waiting a call back, hopefully don't miss this one but can update!

Thanks for all your support though, it's really helpful to talk it through with others

Thatslifethatsit · 08/11/2024 12:58

@pinksheetss hopefully will all be calm for December or January for you
@MrsBP15 I’m tired too - I think the process can be a bit zapping
@Scorbunny2 normal to have pressure - sounds like you have a good number of follicles so fingers crossed

Hey, just saw your message is this Aberdeen which is changing its protocols? I have heard some clinics elsewhere work it like this, which is really hard to plan everything! X

pinksheetss · 08/11/2024 15:40

@Cesas yeah Aberdeen!
They explained that come January basically you call in with your period and then it's a first come first served basis...
I still need to call Dec and they will try get it then for me rather than push to January

Annie1306 · 08/11/2024 16:00

My update on EC: No eggs in that follicle. I just reached home. I had GA for this and sadly my follicle had just blood in it. I have severe endometriosis that I am aware of and ovary cyst due to endometriosis. We are now going egg donor way. Very emotional and sad but God's will so we should always be thankful. I wish everyone else luck !
