Anyone doing FET/IVF in November 2024?✨

Hello MN

I started a thread for ivf in September but ended up having a freeze all cycle and lots of people on said thread have moved on to BFPs etc. Due to have FET at the start of November so hoping to chat to others in a similar situ ☺️

Bit about me: first ever round, been trying for 2 years, have blocked tubes and have 14 embryos in the freezer thanks to successful egg collection in September.

Sending baby dust and good vibes to one and all!!✨✨✨

My update on EC: No eggs in that follicle. I just reached home. I had GA for this and sadly my follicle had just blood in it. I have severe endometriosis that I am aware of and ovary cyst due to endometriosis. We are now going egg donor way. Very emotional and sad but God's will so we should always be thankful. I wish everyone else luck !

I'm sorry for your result, sending my thoughts to you! I wish you all the best as you move forward with your treatment.

Hi all! Please can I join? I was on some previous months groups but am doing an fet late this month (hopefully) after a chemical though my last round (2 embryos still frozen) clinic change and a new egg collection round. We got 12 eggs, 4 embryos which will be pgta tested. So excited about this next fet and hope we have at least one normal embryo to transfer.

lumili · 11/11/2024 08:46

@Coco2021 welcome, sorry I can’t help with any info but hopefully someone can!
@SamVan welcome, fingers crossed you end up with at least one embryo!

we have just had the call from the clinic and I cannot believe it but we have 6 good quality blastocysts, so we are transferring one today and freezing 5. We honestly cannot believe it!! So so happy. I know we have a long way to go!

SamVan · 11/11/2024 10:13

@lumili that is such a great result!! Congratulations and good luck with your transfer today.

Painty04 · 11/11/2024 11:11

@lumili what fab news! 😁 I'm also booked in for transfer today, not long had the call to say my frozen embryo has defrosted nicely so I'm in at 1.30 🤞

Hi all! Due to start my first cycle around 25th November providing Aunt Flo comes along. Low AMH (1.9) and AFC (3) and MFI so IVF with IVSI. Been trying for 2.5yrs

To say I’m petrified is an understatement!

Autumn245 · 11/11/2024 12:05

Good luck with your tranfers today @lumili & @Painty04

Welcome to the group @ivfjourneyandme wishing you all the best for your first cycle, it is a scary process but it helps that we are all going through it together 🥰

Scorbunny2 · 11/11/2024 12:54

Congratulations @lumili.
I went for scan this morning and egg collection pushed back till Friday. They are growing but at a slower rate. Dunno how to feel.

Best of luck! I couldn’t read and move on.
It somehow reminded me of the first cycle I’ve done (I am now on my second). Like you, I was petrified and it seemed like it was such a momentous thing to do. So I was literally taking it one step at a time (“I now have to do the bloods/I now have to go speak to the doctor”) than trying to think of the implications.
Well, it turned out it was not my best month, so the results of the treatment were a bit disappointing. Now onto the second cycle, and I’d say it has got easier, it has become more of a process. This time I seem to be putting pessimist scenarios first, so I won’t be too disappointed (realistically, my chance of success is one in three per cycle). True, you feel the effect of the medication, and I find it hard to focus on work, I guess my mind doesn’t see it as a priority. I am also saving for a third cycle, should that be needed, so I’d say it’s good to know what your options are and the next steps.

Hi all, I hope you don’t mind if I join this thread but I have my frozen transfer booked for this afternoon. Excited but so nervous so I wanted to join the thread to help me get through the next couple of weeks. I’ve been reading it and seems like your a great support network so I wanted to be part of it if that’s ok. Good luck for those with their transfers today xxxx

Same here, scan this morning that showed follicles are growing a bit slower than expected. Collection date is still provisionally the same, but I got a higher dose of stimulation and the GnRH antagonist was delayed by two days.
A quick search on the internet and have found some potential reasons for this in my case: hypothyroidism, endometriosis and genetic mutation of the FSH receptor (yep, have them all). Onwards and upwards?

FondantEclair · 11/11/2024 13:45

Argh, and old age 😅 Thanks, Google!

Cesas · 11/11/2024 14:53

Aw hope all the transfers go well today! I had my transfer at lunch time today! We have manage to get 3 embryos (two are now in the freezer) from 5 eggs. A much better result for our second round as our first we had 4 eggs retrieved and had 1 blast which never took unfortunately!

Same thing happened to me the first round my egg collection was pushed back and they upped my dose!

@Scorbunny2 I had an upped dosage before and did the trick. You're still on the right course so fingers crossed.

Confusedddddddd · 11/11/2024 15:54

@FondantEclair Oooh what's the mutation of the FSH receptor? I feel like I've done so much googling as I have "unexplained cysts" don't appear to be functional, have one removed and 4 grew back, look like endometriomas on scans but biopsy showed they weren't endo.
I haven't come across that one before!

Sorry wrong @FondantEclair tagged wrong person. Hopefully upped stims work!

Scorbunny2 · 11/11/2024 16:21

Thanks just so hard to manage time and scans

lumili · 11/11/2024 16:29

@Scorbunny2 you should still feel positive, follicles are still growing so that’s great. Fingers crossed for Friday!

@Cesas fingers crossed for the 2 week wait, glad your transfer went well!

@R89 hope your transfer went well today!

Our transfer went well, we had one popped back in a grade 5aa, and it has started to hatch so are hoping that’s a good thing. As 5 embryos good enough for freezing. Here is to the 2WW!

Sorry, I wouldn't know what to suggest about cysts, I am not aware of having those myself.

I found about the FSH receptor after a series of genetic tests done abroad, it was the one thing that stood out for me from dozens of DNA tests.
This can get a bit technical, I have a polymorphic FSH receptor, where the N680S variant is homozygous.
In plain terms, the Doctor has explained, this mutation can lead to either under-response or over-response to the treatment (50-50 chance each). Just something to be mindful of, but should not jeopardize treatment. I don't think these tests are routinely offered on first-line IVF treatments in the UK. It might help explain things, but frankly, how much that matters, we will see in my results (risk of OHSS included).

My endometriosis is a different story, it was discovered through MRI, and was not visible through scans. I had stage 3 "invasive", where it travelled outside genital area towards the back and bottom. I had the tissue removed surgically, but endometriosis itself tends to come back, and it's not the time now for contraceptive pills that keep it at bay.

ClaireBear101 · 11/11/2024 17:27

It's such a minefield all this IVF and the dos and don'ts.

Those with transfers today. Welcome to the 2ww.
I took today off sick in the end as just wasn't in the mood. Cramps and tiredness after the embryo transfer so said nah better off relaxing. Just dog walks and crappy movies haha.

lumili · 11/11/2024 17:43

They have also given us a test day is 20 Nov, a week on weds!!

MrsBP15 · 11/11/2024 18:06

Welcome to the club @Painty04 and @lumili gosh @lumili i had mine on Thursday and your test day is two days ahead of me. My husband and I discussed it this morning and we’ve decided to wait until the Saturday morning (so just one more night) we both work in offices so wouldn’t have the option of wfh and with all the time off I’ve had recently I just think it’s the best option. My husband isn’t working all weekend (which is unusual) so we’ll have two full days to process it all. He said he has been amazed with how chill I’m being about it all. I said it’s only been four days and I’m very much in the hope zone, long may it continue!

So funny, I've been told to test on 22nd

Glad to hear you're keeping it chill and positive during your TWW @MrsBP15

ClaireBear101 · 11/11/2024 18:21

All the dates are different thats mad. We did day 3 transfter on Saturday and told test 24th!!

I won't be waiting that long haha. You guys are 10-12 days rather than our 14.
I've tested early every time though haha.
