Anyone doing FET/IVF in November 2024?✨

MrsBP15 · 19/10/2024 09:31

Hello MN

I started a thread for ivf in September but ended up having a freeze all cycle and lots of people on said thread have moved on to BFPs etc. Due to have FET at the start of November so hoping to chat to others in a similar situ ☺️

Bit about me: first ever round, been trying for 2 years, have blocked tubes and have 14 embryos in the freezer thanks to successful egg collection in September.

Sending baby dust and good vibes to one and all!!✨✨✨

monica3287 · 13/11/2024 07:51

Oh no @Thatslifethatsit - sorry to hear this. How are you feeling this morning?

I’m sat not so patiently waiting for that call. Good luck with yours and I hope all ok.

Thatslifethatsit · 13/11/2024 09:34

@monica3287 i feel fine so they’ve said can go ahead 😊 2 grade 1s and 3 they think if give more time may just be good tomorrow 2 are going a bit slower but not out of the race 😂
hope you get your call asap

monica3287 · 13/11/2024 09:38

woohoo! so are you going in for your transfer today @Thatslifethatsit ?

thanks. still waiting.

MrsBP15 · 13/11/2024 09:38

Hi @Cosyseason1234 and @Anonneom hope you’re both well. I just wanted to let you know about my experience as I thought it might be useful…of course it really might not be so feel free to ignore!

I had a high AMH of 39.5 but don’t have PCOS. My cycles are like clockwork though I do have Adenomyosis. We had to do ivf because HyCoSy found I had blocked tubes. Sperm analysis was fine. I was due to do short protocol with a fresh transfer. When I had my scans they could only get a clear pic of one of my ovaries which had about 15 good follicles on it. They said to basically discount the right side ovary. I did the trigger and then went to have egg collection. Came round from EC and they told me they’d collected 38 eggs and it would definitely be a freeze all cycle. They kept asking how I was feeling etc but honestly I felt totally fine and even went for a walk the following day. I did develop a bit nausea and was sick once in the following days but the clinic were great and just sent us to hospital to be assessed. They did blood tests etc to check for OHSS and none was detected. They asked me to go back two days later, just to be sure but again it was all fine. They told me that if they’d known the other ovary had so many follicles in it they would have given me a different trigger shot that wouldn’t have been so stimulating. Initially I was a little disappointed to not be doing a fresh transfer but I knew we needed to be safe. The waiting has been hard to be honest and I know it would have been easier if I’d known we were doing freeze all. I just never imagined they’d get so many. I had my first frozen transfer on Thursday last week so just waiting it out now.

i’m not sure if any of that was helpful but if you have any questions, ask away x

@monica3287 Best if luck for tomorrow. It's short term discomfort for a good cause. :)

I'm day 3 after ET and my got my cramps.

Hi @ClaireBear101 I’ve had some light lower back cramps the last few days. Is this normal for FT? I had mine on Thursday and never had one before…thanks so much, hope you’re keeping well x

@MrsBP15 absolutely that's normal. Lot going on in your body at the moment.
Cramping, nausea, tiredness, diarrhea etc all fun side affects though you may get none and may get all.
Everything I've gotten cramps. This time I'm also peeing like a racehorse haha.
Hopefully all for a good cause for all of us!

Thatslifethatsit · 13/11/2024 09:47

@monica3287 yes transfer today
I hate the waiting too

Cosyseason1234 · 13/11/2024 14:04

Thanks so much for this @MrsBP15 ,really helpful! I am getting my head around the fact that it will probably be a freeze all cycle,I think it could be a positive as gives my body (and mind!) abit of downtime after the stims and EC. Wishing you all the luck in the world for your test ❤️ this thread has been so useful going into my first cycle, thanks to all! Xx

MrsBP15 · 13/11/2024 14:31

You’re so welcome @Cosyseason1234 and best of luck with it all. If I could have my time again I would have mentally prepared myself for freeze all and then if we’d been able to do fresh that would be an added bonus. We had a bit of a holiday in the time that we were waiting to go again (nothing crazy just rented a cabin in Wales) and it was a really good shout just to have something nice to look forward to whilst waiting for my period to arrive! Thank you for the well wishes, I’m probably going to hold out on testing so another ten days to go 🤪 x

monica3287 · 13/11/2024 15:30

that's me done with ET, and 9 days to go until testing.

unfortunately our grading wasn't brilliant, and they transferred a 2AC, everything else was a bit rubbish. but they were happy to transfer, and so I'm holding onto that.

if anyone has previous success stories with these early ones I'd love to hear them.

Scorbunny2 · 13/11/2024 15:39

Egg retrieval pushed out to Saturday. Loosing my mind with all the changes

Cosyseason1234 · 13/11/2024 16:55

There is nothing more serenity than a little cabin in Wales just the 2 of you, what a lovely way to prepare you for the transfer. How did you get on with stims dare I ask?! I start tomorrow so am treating myself to a glass of red tonight and working from home tomorrow 😂 I am prone to migraines so a little worried. Work have been great and I’m lucky to get some paid fertility leave thankfully so hopefully can ride it out if I do get side effects. 10 days is nothing you got thissss lots of self care! X @MrsBP15

Thatslifethatsit · 13/11/2024 17:11

@monica3287 yay to getting to transfer just relax and take it easy every embryo is a chance
@Scorbunny2 how come egg collection delayed? Are they trying to grow bigger follicles?

MrsBP15 · 13/11/2024 17:39

Thank you @Cosyseason1234 it really was the perfect way to prepare I highly recommend it! I also started therapy which I’ve found really useful. I went with a therapist who has specific experience with those who suffer from infertility. Again I highly recommend if it’s possible for you. I found stims generally fine. I was not bothered about needles so that helped. I did the evening ones myself and got my husband to do morning ones. I got a few headaches but they lifted with paracetamol and plenty of water. I didn’t bloat at all or really feel anything in my abdomen until the trigger and even that wasn’t too bad, just a little sore. The meds I’ve taken for transfer (Progynova) gave me some headaches at the start but these seem to have subsided. I was mostly just pleased to be doing something and honestly felt like even if the side effects were bad, I’d still do it all because I want a baby so badly ☺️ of course everyone is different but I bet you are stronger than you realise, that’s certainly what I’ve found! Good luck with it all and always ask questions on here, lots of people going through the same ❤️

@monica3287 sending you so much love and many positive vibes for your little embryo. My friend who now has a three year old from ivf said that he was lowest graded embryo they had and he was the only one who stuck ❤️

Hi everyone, I hope everyone is doing well? I had my transfer on Monday and have some light cramps in lower belly and feel so tired but hoping these signs are all normal I think they are but your mind goes into overdrive doesn’t it. Not sure how I’m going to wait until 22nd 😫🫡 but let’s see. Has anyone ever tested early and if so how early? I had a freeze all so I don’t have the trigger in my body but not sure how earlier I could test or whether I just wait. Anyway I hope everyone is doing ok 🫶🏻 Good luck to those who have had transfers and those with egg collections / transfers coming up xxx

Cosyseason1234 · 13/11/2024 18:20

This is great to hear in regards to headaches thank you ❤️ I am a nurse so no needle phobia just hormone worries 😂 sending you so much luck and looking forward to seeing your good news on here xx @MrsBP15

Painty04 · 13/11/2024 18:27

Hey @R89 I had a fresh transfer in Sep and only tested a couple days before the date I was given by the clinic. I was already starting to get symptoms I associate with my period and wanted to give myself the weekend to feel crap if the result was negative (as it was) it made it a touch easier to take the call on the Monday from the clinic.

It may be unhealthy, but I would much rather go through the tww hopeful, cautious and oblivious 😂 your given those test dates for a reason and results can change right up to that date. But this is just me and I completely understand the urge to test much earlier! 😊

I also had a transfer this Monday and feel exhausted, but I've also been getting over a cold, so hard to tell what's to blame 😂

Good luck to everyone going through this process atm!

R89 · 13/11/2024 18:36

Hey @Painty04 sorry to hear your fresh transfer didn’t work in September but wishing you all the luck with this transfer 🫶🏻 ahh we are transfer twins, when is your test date? I’m the 22nd, I wonder if we are the same day.

Yea completely agree, I actually think I’ll be too scared to test early anyway but right now next Friday just feels so far away but you are right in the fact it’s quite nice to be oblivious, my only concern is that my period is due on 18th and I’m so used to getting my period every month and not getting pregnant that I’d rather know if it has worked via a test than getting my period if that makes sense but it is what it is and will just go with it.

It’s my first time doing IVF but it’s so nice to be able to chat with people going through the same ❤️

ClaireBear101 · 13/11/2024 18:38

@Painty04 I was ET on Monday too. And by god I'm exhausted so it's probably a mix of both you poor thing!

Those dates are dedfo given for a reason. Some people test day 5 or 6 and get deflated and it's too early.

I was told test early last go as I had a period but they wanted to ensure it wasn't implantation bleeding. I knew it wasn't though, too heavy.

Here's to 4th try is the charm.

Scorbunny2 · 13/11/2024 18:49

@Thatslifethatsit they said they might get a few more. They counted 12 today measuring 18mm to 21mm

Thatslifethatsit · 13/11/2024 18:56

@Scorbunny2 thats a good amount at that size but I’m sure they have their reasons. It isn't uncommon for clinics to delay egg collection

Painty04 · 13/11/2024 18:58

Thank you @R89 🫶🤞 and my test date is also 22nd.

I believe @lumili @Cesas and @ClaireBear101 also had transfers on Monday, but all have different test dates.

Yeah I completely understand that, last time I kept telling myself my period could not start whilst I was on progesterone. A complete lie I know, but a little self deception to help stop me overthinking so much really did help, along with keeping busy/distracted with work.

Best of luck ladies, here's hoping 4th time is the charm @ClaireBear101🤞 Will keep everything crossed for you!

MrsBP15 · 13/11/2024 19:21

Hello @R89 i had my first frozen transfer on Thursday. Was due to have fresh in September but it was freeze all due to risk of ohss. I’m like @Painty04 (hello lovely, hope you’re doing ok) and am quite enjoying this ignorance is bliss phase. I’m only on day 6 but really have no urge to test at the moment. I’m just enjoying being oblivious and hopeful and I’m really liking seeing that in my husband as well. We’ve put the scan up on the fridge which I know will be painful if it’s negative but right now it feels like a nice little reminder to not lose hope and that for that day at least our little embryo was in there, no one can deny us that (I also love that I finally got a scan picture). Our test date is 22nd but we both have to work that day so have decided to hold off until 23rd so we can have the weekend so process it all. Sending you so much luck and baby dust for this next phase ✨✨✨
