Anyone doing FET/IVF in November 2024?✨

Hello MN

I started a thread for ivf in September but ended up having a freeze all cycle and lots of people on said thread have moved on to BFPs etc. Due to have FET at the start of November so hoping to chat to others in a similar situ ☺️

Bit about me: first ever round, been trying for 2 years, have blocked tubes and have 14 embryos in the freezer thanks to successful egg collection in September.

Sending baby dust and good vibes to one and all!!✨✨✨

We had a day 5 transfer today, it’s so weird with all the different test dates isn’t it!!

lumili · 11/11/2024 18:26

All we can do is hope 😃

MrsBP15 · 11/11/2024 18:38

Mine is 15 days @ClaireBear101 i won’t be testing early I don’t think? I never tested when we were trying naturally (only ever did one in 18 months) so I think I can hold off but we’ll see…. I hope I’m not coming across as smug or anything with how I’m feeling? I should say I’m hardly sleeping so there is that and no doubt if you ask me in a week I’ll be feeling very different 🤣

Sorry haven’t kept up today - running around after little one.
Hi to new people 😊 👋
Embryo transfer due Wednesday but I have a sore throat so hoping it goes otherwise they won’t do it
The first time is nerve wracking and I had no follicles so round ended early just under stimulated and really didn’t understand it as they go on about hyper stimulation
Got to embryo transfer and was a nightmare tested after 1 week so well done if you make it to 2 weeks!

Cosyseason1234 · 11/11/2024 19:25

Hi all,
Hope it’s ok that I join, trying to make some sense of this crazy journey 😂
first time IVF,male factor infertility.
I start stims on Thursday, did anyone have headaches/anxiety?! I have had both from the northesterone and hoping the injections won’t cause them.
hope everyone is doing well.

Cesas · 11/11/2024 19:41

Our testing date is the 26th of November so 15 days past 5 day transfer! Crazy how different it is! X

Anonneom · 11/11/2024 19:50

Hey all!!!! Can I jump on this thread? Got my baseline scan tomorrow and hopefully starting stims either tomorrow or Wednesday evening. No idea as to cause of infertility. Amh is 47 with afc of 38 (I’m 36yo) so all points towards pcos without actually being pcos! 🤷‍♀️.
wishing everyone lots and lots of love and babydust

monica3287 · 11/11/2024 19:53

hey @Scorbunny2 @FondantEclair - reading your comments about follicles and timing of the week. i had this last monday, and was looking like 3 follicles at the right size - it changed pretty rapidly over the last 2 days of that week (which I think @MrsBP15 told me it might, second half of the stims) - so keep going, keep drinking that water!

exciting to see updates on ET's today, and all the dates for testing. feeling nervous for our update on Wednesday morning, ahead of ET in the afternoon.

@lumili also happy to see your news!

Scorbunny2 · 11/11/2024 20:32

Hey. We're any of yere boobs extremely painful during stims,?

Cosyseason1234 · 11/11/2024 20:41

Hi @Anonneom
i am starting stims this week too! I also have high AMH (33) the consultant said PCOS spectrum without being PCOS lol.
let me know how you get on with injections, have they given you a projected egg collection date?

Anonneom · 11/11/2024 21:11

Hey @Cosyseason1234 nice to have someone on the same week as me! I think up to now predicted for 25th November for egg collection. Are you having a fresh transfer of have they advised a frozen because of the OHSS risk? We’re about 90% sure we will need a freeze all cycle.

Confusedddddddd · 11/11/2024 23:15

Out of interest what cycle day did everyone have their baseline scan? And started stims? On long protocol.
I'm only on day 2 of Buserelin and I think my period is about to start, which means my baseline scan will be day 11 and start stims day 12 which seems late. I brought it up with the nurse that I ovulated early last month so my period is likely to start early but she didn't seem bothered.

It probably is fine, but I have a lot of distrust in doctors, so I like to check things.

SamVan · 12/11/2024 00:14

@Scorbunny2 yes, very sore!

Cosyseason1234 · 12/11/2024 07:13

I am 27th November for projected egg collection! I’m fairly sure it will be a freeze due to the OHSS risk,it might actually be a blessing to have Christmas off and a break from thinking about it 24/7 though to be fair. I feel grateful to have the opportunity to try IVF but I am not enjoying the stress 😂 How are you feeling about it all?@Anonneom

Anonneom · 12/11/2024 08:52

@Cosyseason1234 Yes, definitely nice to have a stress free Xmas! I think a freeze all takes a lot of pressure off too. Like, I have told family and friends about the ivf, but that it will be a freeze all so there’s no expectations there, I don’t have to tell them when we transfer and I won’t be getting hounded for updates constantly haha!
similar to yourself, I feel incredibly lucky to have the opportunity to have ivf. Super grateful to the NHS. I’m in the Merseyside area so eligible for 3 full rounds which is amazing! Where about are you?
I’m not feeling too stressed to be honest, I’m just taking everything as it comes. I think we’ve been trying for so long now I’m a bit like ‘well if it doesn’t work, we’re no worse off for trying the ivf’ but still praying it works if that makes sense! Haha

I've had one day of migraines, on day 2 of stims where I had to sleep through most of the day. Touch wood, that hasn't come back!

Cosyseason1234 · 12/11/2024 09:39

This is so true,at least with frozen you can do the TWW privately and update family and friends in your own time.
I have a little boy from a previous relationship so we have gone private,we are in Birmingham so really good selection of clinics and no wait etc.
Will you do a fresh transfer if you can? I have no patience so I will if I can 😂 @Anonneom

Cosyseason1234 · 12/11/2024 10:18

@FondantEclair thank you for sharing, fingers crossed the rest is smooth sailing for you!

Anonneom · 12/11/2024 13:41

@Cosyseason1234 probably not to be honest. It depends on what the clinic advise obviously, but Iv kind of got my head round the frozen transfer now. And also Frozen transfer has a slightly better success rate so would depend on how many embryos we get I suppose.
it would be nice too though because if the dates go according to plan the fresh transfer would be 30th November, which is 7 years to the day that we lost our little baby boy when I was 12 weeks (Edwards syndrome)

Cosyseason1234 · 12/11/2024 19:08

I didn’t realise frozen has a better success rate! I’ll have a google, it would be nice to go into transfer fresh headed and not hormonal 😂 although my friend had no side effects whatsoever from the injections so that is good to hear.
Awww that date is very precious and meaningful 🥺 got everything crossed for you that your rainbow baby is on the way! @Anonneom

I had a migraine for a week on stims first time and 3 days this time. Not nice I know. I hope yours doesn't last as long!

Who else is on for ET tomorrow? (Weds)

I’m feeling nervous about the phone call tomorrow morning, to see how things are looking.

@monica3287 Best if luck for tomorrow. It's short term discomfort for a good cause. :)

I'm day 3 after ET and my got my cramps.

Scorbunny2 · 12/11/2024 21:29

In for scan in the morning, hopefully it's the last scan. Been a stressful few days and I'm completely shattered from all the driving up and down the road for scans please god it eill be worth it.

ThatAlertSquid · 12/11/2024 23:12

Hi, hope it’s ok to jump on here. I had my embryo transfer or Monday. It was a day 5 transfer, none of my embryos made it to blastocysts so I had a compacted and partially compacted morula transferred. Feeling really disheartened and that there is pretty much zero chance! Testing date is 23rd, anyone else had embryos transferred back rather than blastocysts?
