When are you guys registering with the midwife? I've got the number but worried that it's too early to call....

@teampacey thanks for setting this up 🤩

Hey,

thank you for inviting me, how is everyone doing. Woke up with feeling sick 🤢

Daniki · 07/10/2024 10:24

@Natasha90 yep nausea has hit me too! 🤢 just a constant feeling on nausea this morn but the last few evenings is when it was hitting me.

@teampacey i referred myself straight away! But my hosp has a great EPU and I wanted to get in and see the recurrent miscarriage specialist I attended before. I have a scan this Friday and then my 12 week appointment is the 18th nov 🥰

teampacey · 07/10/2024 10:38

As awful as it is yay for sickness 🤣

Ok now I don't feel so crazy- have just referred myself! Then I went crazy and booked a sneak peak plus gender blood test for 7 weeks on 3rd Nov. Sod it I'm all in now!!!

Daniki · 07/10/2024 10:46

@teampacey feck it you're dead right 😂 I'm wondering whether to find out gender this time, I'm usually a keep it and surprise but it's been a bloody long time coming 😂 I know strangely I'm like yessss got some reassurance! 😂Can't even remember what I was like with my son as it was so long ago!

teampacey · 07/10/2024 11:30

@Daniki my son (my youngest) is nearly 12 🤣 very long time ago since I last did this!

I've found out with all of mine. I'm inpatient and like to know. Also in my experience parents really don't care about the sex at birth, they often even forget to look! So I figure I'd rather have it earlier. I'm going to open it on my birthday.

Daniki · 07/10/2024 11:44

@teampacey oh wow it's been a while alright 😂 my son is 3.5! Ah that's a nice idea, must talk my husband around this evening 😂 my bday is the end of November so it could also be a nice surprise 😂

YellowTack · 07/10/2024 16:46

@teampacey thank you for creating the thread!

I have already self referred myself to the midwife department and have my first appointment booked on the 5th of November.

I am still waiting for my viability scan at my IVF clinic on the 21st of October, I will be really relieved after that!

I have also decided I will book a private NIPT test and I can also find out the gender, which I plan to do! I will book it after the viability scan as it can be done from 10 weeks.

For now I can’t really complain about symptoms apart from my sore boobs, and a bit of cramping. I have some mild nausea but it’s always in the evenings 🤔.

I also have finally restarted exercising, I had to stop during the IVF cycle and I already feel so out of shape! I definitely want to feel strong again in the first trimester while I can still do most type of exercises. I am going to try to convince my husband to get a stationary bike to do some cardio. Running is not an option as it makes my heart rate go through the roof and I don’t want to take any risks with high impact classes.

PurpleRayne89 · 07/10/2024 20:34

So I’ve had a bit of a mare today re my bloods. I visited a clinic and waited 1 hour for the phlebotomist to not turn up. The lab tech attempted to take my blood as she does this occasionally. She attempted 3 times and nothing was coming out it was painful. They then sent me to a partner clinic for blood draw. I drove there and my blood way taken. They sent me the lab report several hours later and it was blank. I brought this to their attention. They then sent the result 3493.483 mlU/L I then said this isn’t a valid number and it’s impossible for 4 weeks pregnant having had a blood result of 122 around 72 hours ago. They then called to say they believe the machine is broken and they will send my result to another lab for verification. They then said they have gotten it right and my bloods have come back as 125.7 this concerned me given the very little difference in 72 hours. I mentioned my 2-3 weeks on CBD for the first time this morning and the threshold for this being 153min. I asked how confident she was in the number she’s provided me and stated that this little grown is potentially indicative of a chemical. She’s read my messages and decided to not respond.

I guess she’s caused me so much anxiety and stress. The day had been awful. I’m bruised and achy from the poor attempts to take my blood and have nothing to show for it but more anxiety. I guess I want to hear your views. I am having a blood draw at another place I’ve used previously on Wednesday but I’m not sure my arms will be healed by then 😞

Daniki · 07/10/2024 20:55

@PurpleRayne89 that sounds awful you poor thing! I would put that all out of your head and get retested elsewhere as it doesn't make sense at all! I would imagine you'd have a different result elsewhere x

YellowTack · 07/10/2024 21:16

@PurpleRayne89 I am so sorry to hear about your day, I understand how stressed you must be!

I know this won’t reassure you but I honestly wouldn’t believe anything this clinic told you as they have been so unreliable! I would also go back to the other clinic to get a second opinion, hopefully they will still manage to draw some blood!

xMrsxHx87x · 07/10/2024 21:32

Hi everyone, and thanks for setting up @teampacey! I did another test this morning as it was my OTD, still very much positive thank goodness! Called my IVF clinic and booked in for my viability scan on 24th October. I don't have any children and have never done IVF before - I was just going to continue doing everything via the clinic for now, but would any of you more experienced ladies recommend I also start the ball rolling with informing my own GP?

I started getting nausea on Thursday and at the time put it down to hunger, but I've had it again the last two days. Not actually been sick yet, but just a hot flush and wave of sickness that lasts about half an hour. Presumably this is a good sign, but it's not ideal when it seems to hit at random times of day 😂

@YellowTack what exercise are you doing? I used to gym and swim regularly, but I broke my foot in July so I've been off exercise ever since other than dog walking, and I'm dying to get back to it now I'm pretty much recovered. But I'm not advised to swim due to the progesterone pessaries which is frustrating.

@PurpleRayne89 sorry to hear about your nightmare bloods 🙁

Daniki · 07/10/2024 22:15

@xMrsxHx87x woohoo! 🙌 I'd recommend linking in either GP, not sure how it works in England but in Ireland we do combined care with gp and maternity hospital x

YellowTack · 07/10/2024 22:41

@xMrsxHx87x in my case I didn’t even have to inform my GP as I could self-refer to the midwifes, but I know it differs depending on the area.

I mainly do strength training, which is good because I can really make it as easy as I want with the weights I am using. At the moment I am following Caroline Girvan, she has an app but also has free programs on YouTube. I am still continuing her programs with my own modifications for now as long as I feel okay.
I have heard good feedback about Nourishmovelove and Sydney Cummings for pregnancy specific workouts so I might move on to them at one point.

PurpleRayne89 · 08/10/2024 06:54

@xMrsxHx87x Congrstuations, really amazing news ❤️

PurpleRayne89 · 08/10/2024 07:39

My scan is booked for 25/10 at 8:30am. I can then go to work afterwards. If we’re ready to be discharged by the fertility clinic this day. I’ll then notify GP and register with a local hospital for the midwifery service.

teampacey · 08/10/2024 07:51

@PurpleRayne89 god that sounds absolutely awful! Please tell me you weren't paying for this service! I would definitely go elsewhere and I don't believe their numbers were correct at all!

@xMrsxHx87x yay for a positive on OTD! In England you book with the midwife. If you look on your local Trust's website there should be info there or you can call your GP and they will point you in the right direction. The guidance is for women to have their booking appointment by ten weeks so it's fine to call them now and get in the system.

@YellowTack I'm glad you've said that about exercise. I really want to get back to it too. I was doing weight training at the gym and I'm missing it. Makes me feel so strong!

Today I did not test! Decided what will be will be and I'm going to enjoy this happy bubble.

That's exciting @PurpleRayne89 how many weeks will you be then?

OP posts:
PurpleRayne89 · 08/10/2024 07:58

@teampacey They said I will get a refund for the blood test and my parking also. I’ll monitor my account. I will be around 7 weeks by that point.

teampacey · 08/10/2024 08:03

That's the least they can do!
Oh that's so exciting. Think we need a list of due dates etc.

Mine is 18th June

OP posts:
PurpleRayne89 · 08/10/2024 08:21

@teampacey Honestly, I was so emotional yesterday. What made things harder, I had my tired 3 year old with me.

Due date 10th June 2025 ☺️

teampacey · 08/10/2024 08:23

Oh no, that definitely increases the stress levels. I hope they realise how much worry they have caused, it really isn't on!

Hi Ladies, so great to hear the good news from all of you. I've done my 5d frozen emb transfer on 23/09. My first transfer didn't work (bfn).
I did two betas, one on 03/10 (214) and one yesterday 07/10 (1500). But met a friend who had no heartbeat on the ultrasound at week 7, and now I'm freaking out. My first ultrasound is scheduled for 23/10.
How do you all keep cool whilst waiting for the first ultrasound??? Are there any positive signs that would indicate viable pregnancy?
We never got to this point, so we are really happy but absolutely terrified. Sending love to all of you
