TWW Fresh Embryo Transfer Symptoms

LimeTurtle · 17/09/2024 13:43

Hi everyone !

I am currently 5 days past a 5 day fresh embryo transfer. I've had slight cramping and lower back pain since day 1 as well as very vivid dreams.
Could these be symptoms that the embryo has implanted ? Or just a side effect of my progesterone pessaries.

We have male infertility factor and my AMH levels and lining were good when I had the transfer. My period is due a week today so I'm now worrying it's just my period coming early before my official test day which would be odd as I'm very regular!
:(

Just feeling a little lonely in this two week wait as I've never wanted something so much !
Any success stories with similar symptoms would be great ?

Thank you in advance 😊

@LimeTurtle aww my weekend was a dream, so many happy tears and hugs ill never forget it. My scan was amazing too, I was just over 10 weeks and it's wild how much it now looks like a little baba! Have got some gorgeous little video files from it aswell of our little one moving their arms and legs and jumping around 🥰🥰

I think it's completely upto the person when and who you tell, there's no right or wrong time! I think the thing is for our situations with IVF is that we get to see baby so early on and regularly, whereas a "normal" pregnancy they wouldn't have seen baby once until 12 weeks unless they choose to book an extra scan. I mean it's crazy really we've already seen baby twice 🤣🥰 We haven't actually told everyone yet, just parents and our besties, we are gonna wait til our 12 week scan to then tell siblings, grandparents and our other friends just incase, but for me I had to tell our parents and besties because if the worst were to happen (and I'm sure it'll be fine), I would need them more than ever.

Sorry massively long winded response but I think if you've seen baby is okay, and you feel comfortable telling whomever then you should. Luckily I only have to wait til next Sunday for my 12 week scan 🤣😍 to be honest the weekend has defo helped with telling a few of our closest people to tide me over til then 🤣🤣 hope that helps! xx

Hey@LimeTurtle !
All good here, much of the same except some stretching (not strong) pain in the sides of my uterus. I went for my scan today, baby was moving around like crazy and having it large in there! The lady had a hard time measuring and has asked us to come back in 2 weeks for another scan when baby is a bit bigger. I’m 11w+6 today but she said it was hard to measure properly so we’ll have to wait for the test again. I feel relieved but at the same time nervous incase there’s something wrong. It’s a hard feeling to shake, but I must stay positive.
We told my MIL today and she was over the moon. Tomorrow I’ll tell close friends and coworkers. The rest, as and when I feel ready!
How're you feeling? How did your people react?

cbear1989 · 14/11/2024 18:33

Sorry feels like life has been manic lately! It's going by so quickly.

@LimeTurtle how are you feeling? What did you decide on telling people in the end?

@Kaybee1989 bless you don't worry it'll be absolutely fine I'm sure! Baby is probs just a little wriggler so fingers crossed they'll get all the measurements they need when you go for your next scan. Just look at it as a plus, you get to see baby an extra time! 😍👶

I'm 12 weeks today and have my scan on Sunday so can't wait to see them again! 😍

Hi,

I bet you're so excited ! I'm 12 weeks on Saturday 😍 got my first NHS scan on the 22nd so I'll be nearly 13 weeks I'd be lying if I said I wasn't wishing the time away to get to it 🤣

I'm feeling good I just feel shattered ! And still have a big fear that something is going to be wrong but trying to snap out of that way of thinking.

Are you all still feeling like that ?

I told those closest to me but i decided not to announce anywhere until after my scan next week. My step daughter's reaction was priceless I'll never forget it 🥺 she kisses my belly every time she sees me now !

How's all your symptoms been ? Has the sickness died down ? 💗

cbear1989 · 14/11/2024 19:19

@LimeTurtle haha I know what you mean I love the scans and seeing them again, luckily I've been pretty busy this week so thankfully it's gone quite quickly!

I feel you on the shattered front, it's exhausting! I'm looking forward to this rumoured golden era of the second trimester, but we shall see 🤣🤣 I'm still feeling sick but it's 100% starting to get more manageable now, I think I might be stuck with it til I come off my meds at 16 weeks but least that's only 4 weeks away.

I think for me I defo started to relax and just feel happy after I saw little one at the 7 week scan, even more so after our 10 weeks after they were doing so well. So I think right now I'm okay, my tough time will probs be at 16 weeks when I stop my meds, but I'm sure it'll be fine!

Aww that's so sweet about your step daughter! Creating a lovely bond already. My mum and dad are so excited it's so funny, I dunno how they're gonna cope waiting til May/June time 🤣🤣

On telling people I've done pretty much the same as you, we have our scan Sunday and then I'll start telling people properly after that, looking forward to telling my little brother and my grandparents!

Hi ladies,
loved reading through this thread and congratulations to you all. I am due for my EC either D3 tomorrow or D5 Monday and I just wondered if you did anything afterwards that you think contributed to it being successful? No matter how big or small, I just want to feel like I am doing something positive!!

Kaybee1989 · 22/11/2024 08:05

@HKAG Hi! I think I was more relaxed, with a ‘What will be, will be’ attitude. I looked after myself with light exercise & a nutritious diet, and kept my mind busy. We went away for the weekend in the middle of the TWW so I wasn’t thinking about it all the time. Best of luck 🤞🏻 🍀
@LimeTurtle @cbear1989 @AshMapleOak Hows things? How did the 12 week scans go? 💓

cbear1989 · 22/11/2024 08:40

Hi @HKAG! hopefully you've joined the lucky thread 🤣🤞 sending you so much luck for your egg collection, is this your first one?

I'd agree with @Kaybee1989 I was defo more relaxed going into it this time, however I suspect that was more because I've had a lot of disappointment and unsuccessful attempts by this point so it makes you a bit more realistic but still hopeful, not to say don't have hope but this process is hard so I think you have to try and manage your expectations a bit.

I'd also say that tbh, if your body is ready and able to accept your little embryos it will, obviously a healthy lifestyle will always support but really it's just down to fate and your body, and a bit of luck.

My second little embryo didn't even implant, after that, before this one, I actually went abroad to Greece for another laparoscopy where they found and treated endometriosis, so my body was in theory in perfect condition this time around, I called it my little MOT before my little babe stuck this time! obviously you're already through the process and almost ready for collection so just try and keep a positive but realistic mindset, gentle walks and exercise and try to eat well without being obsessive 🤣🤣 your body will do what it needs to do regardless so sending you all of the luck in the world 🤞🥰

cbear1989 · 22/11/2024 08:56

@Kaybee1989 12 weel scan was good! Quite funny really as baby was being very stubborn and kept turning their back on us when she was trying to do the downs screening but she got what she needed in the end.

Dunno about you guys but I weirdly feel more anxious now than before, even though I'm past the 12 week point... I think it's because we are telling people, it almost makes me worry more just in case now that my friends and family know about the baby, especially as I'm still on my meds til 16 weeks. Gosh it's so hard to be able to just relax and enjoy it isn't it!?🤦‍♀️

HKAG · 22/11/2024 09:30

Thank you so much! This is my second time around , first time wasn’t successful.

did you do anything after your embyro transfer in particular? Lie down, legs up etc haha! I do completely agree that it’s mainly down to fate and luck, just feels so out of your control doesn’t it! Really praying that I’ve joined the lucky thread x

Hi,

I found that I tried to keep my mind occupied. Don't be afraid to rest your body when it needs it, they say not to be bed bound and to still do light exercise I just did a little walk around the block. I watched all the cheesy feel good movies I wanted too as well. Always kept my feet warm and ate nice warm foods😊

@cbear1989
@Kaybee1989

I've literally just come out of my 12 weeks scan ! Wow what a difference. Baby is perfectly sized and strong. I feel like a massive weight has been lifted off my shoulders now I've got to this milestone. Don't get me wrong I will still worry everyday, but I've just decided to enjoy being pregnant now as I don't want to look back and regret not cherishing all these moments 😍

@LimeTurtle aww I love that! and actually you're so right, think I needed to hear that today!! so glad it went well 😍😍

@HKAG don't worry about holding your legs up or any of that, I agree with the ladies here, just keep busy and look after yourself to stay as positive as poss and hopefully this'll be the one for you! Watch lots of feel good Christmas movies and try not to stress 🤞❤️

Hey everyone!!

How are you all feeling? xx

I'm doing good ! Battling a cold at the moment - isn't this time of year joyous for that 🙃 I've tried so hard to stay away from anyone that's been poorly as well and my hands are cracked from washing them so much 🤣 but hey ho ! It hasn't been a bad one, I think it's also that I'm just feeling exhausted because of having a manual job as I took the day off yesterday and just rested and felt back to 100% last night. Just listening to my body ! And trying not to feel guilty for resting. Had a couple do headaches here and there but overall feel well 😌

We've booked a private scan for the weekend before Christmas which will be lovely 😍 as we are going to put the gender into an envelope and open it on Christmas morning together !

How are you feeling ? Xxx

@LimeTurtle oh no bless you! I feel your pain though I'm literally suffering through a cold too haha hits worse preggars doesn't it?! I tried so hard and thought I'd missed it from my hubby too but it got my unfortunately, what can you do! Hope you feel better soon and defo don't feel bad for resting!

Aww how lovely!! Our plan is to to tell my family the gender Xmas day too, I was gonna put pink or blue butter and in my yule log 🤣🤣 I've got a scan on the 19th and just want it to hurry up, it's such a weird phase as symptoms finally start to pass and you're not really showing yet - i just wanna see them so bad!! xx

Me too !! I am so excited !! I can't wait to feel baby move as well 🥺 I keep analysing every gurgle in my stomach to see if it could be a flutter 🤣

Anyone else has any movements yet ?

OP posts:
Kaybee1989 · 12/12/2024 20:08

@LimeTurtle I’m exactly the same, thinking ‘is this it? Is that a movement?’ And then I realize it’s just gas 🫣😂 I can’t wait! I’m now 16w+5 and haven’t felt anything yet. The nausea has gotten loads better now but I’m just so tired. It feels like someone takes my batteries out at 6:30pm on the dot everyday. I guess we just have to listen to our bodies and go with the flow!
@AshMapleOak @cbear1989 Are you going to find out if it’s a boy or a girl?
@HKAG How’re you doing? What stage are you at?

cbear1989 · 16/12/2024 08:04

@Kaybee1989 I have a private scan booked for Thursday and finding out the gender then, am so excited!!!

Have been so anxious last week as I finally stopped all of meds Saturday as I reached 16 weeks, have been fine since so very keen to see little one on Thursday to check they're okay in there. Also have my second midwife appointment tomorrow.

Is everyone bumping yet? My bumping has defo started, I kinda love it!

No movements here yet, although like you say it's so tricky to know so early especially with your first, bubbles could always just be gas 🤣🤣 cannot wait to feel them though, I'm always instinctively stroking my belly even now, it's just so exciting isn't it 🤗🥰

Hi !!

I have a scan Saturday ! Wow it can't come quick enough 🤣 I feel so nervous as well as just want to see everything is okay again. Think once I start feeling the movement it'll give me the at reassurance ! Had my date for my 20 week scan too😌 100% got a bump on the way & I also love it !! My midwife only did a telephone appointment for my 16 weeks which I was annoyed about as she said they don't do them anymore ! Is yours an in person one ? I asked her as said I thought they needed to check urine sample & blood pressure. She said no as your first bloods came back fine I won't see you 🙃

cbear1989 · 16/12/2024 08:18

@LimeTurtle aww bless you, I think some nerves and anxiety in between scans are so normal! I'm hoping with stopping my meds and seeing them in the scan on Thursday might allow me to enjoy my pregnancy again now. It sounds silly but I've also probably felt more anxious because everyone knows... once it's out there it's out there! But I'm sure it'll be fine, I'm hoping the midwife might be able to try and listen in to the heartbeat tomorrow but we shall see, but yeah mine is in person. Take it as a good thing though that you're low risk I guess, although phone appointments are so annoying!🤣🤦‍♀️

I've got my 20 week scan through for early Jan, as you say hopefully by then we will have some movement which will be nice!

Kaybee1989 · 16/12/2024 12:58

Yes definitely bumping lol! 🥰 Last week I had another in person midwife appointment and she took my blood pressure and listened with a Doppler to the heartbeat which was amazing! I’m almost tempted to buy one, they’re about 20€ but I don’t want to become obsessed and overthink anything I might or might not hear.
My 20 week scan is on the 8th Jan, I’m not going to find out the sex, we want a surprise 🤍

cbear1989 · 17/12/2024 13:54

aww @Kaybee1989 that's lovely, I've just been to see the midwife this morning too and listened in to their heartbeat which was lovely, needed that today! Am so excited for my scan Thursday now! we're way too impatient to wait for the surprise 😂😂

Natasha90 · 18/12/2024 18:41

So sorry I have been radio silence. I'm still in shock and been really overwhelmed. Hope your all doing ok?

Do we have any genders yet?

cbear1989 · 19/12/2024 06:58

@Natasha90 I'm finding out today! providing bubs isn't being stubborn of course 😂😂 very excited.

Don't apologise though, it's normal to feel overwhelmed, how are you doing?
