TWW Fresh Embryo Transfer Symptoms

LimeTurtle · 17/09/2024 13:43

Hi everyone !

I am currently 5 days past a 5 day fresh embryo transfer. I've had slight cramping and lower back pain since day 1 as well as very vivid dreams.
Could these be symptoms that the embryo has implanted ? Or just a side effect of my progesterone pessaries.

We have male infertility factor and my AMH levels and lining were good when I had the transfer. My period is due a week today so I'm now worrying it's just my period coming early before my official test day which would be odd as I'm very regular!
:(

Just feeling a little lonely in this two week wait as I've never wanted something so much !
Any success stories with similar symptoms would be great ?

Thank you in advance 😊

I'm next Thursday😍🥳

Have a lovely weekend guys! 💕

Kaybee1989 · 19/10/2024 15:10

I’m at the midwife Wednesday, but I don’t know if they’ll do a scan or not 🤷🏼‍♀️
Have a fab weekend everyone! 💓

cbear1989 · 19/10/2024 17:28

@Kaybee1989 am pretty sure they wouldn't do a scan at this first midwife appointment, I think this is more finding out about you and talking through what's coming, first proper scan will be 12 weeks and then at 20 weeks, I think that's all that the NHS would offer throughout unless there are any concerns. My first appointment is at GP surgery so i dont think they'd have the machine to scan me x

Kaybee1989 · 19/10/2024 19:31

@cbear1989 Ahh, I thought as much. I’ve been asking around indirectly so people don’t suspect anything about what happens here at the first appointment and it seems like a blood test, urine test, family history and obviously IVF journey. I’m 35 and I think I’ll be classed as ‘geriatric’ I’m not sure what that’ll mean for me but I guess there’s only one way to find out 😉 How’s your nausea going? If they offer you medicine would you consider it an option?

cbear1989 · 19/10/2024 19:40

@Kaybee1989 🤣🤣 also a fellow geriatric 35 year old mumma over here too! 💕 wild that we are called that 😅😅

Yours is first so you can fill us all in afterwards! Although I think you've probs got it pretty bang on there, just exciting to get the ball rolling isn't it!

Argh it's still there, doesn't feel quite as bad today tbh but still constant. It's just so weird, I'm fine once I eat something but I literally sit there and fancy nothing... absolutely nothing is appealing to me. Plus if I don't eat, I feel more nauseous as my stomach is empty, I do hope it starts easing soon, if I get to 12 weeks and it's the same I'd probs consider some meds to help it or I might go crazy 😅🫣

How about you, are you still getting much nausea? xx

Kaybee1989 · 19/10/2024 19:49

@cbear1989 Exactly as you’ve said, is how I feel 😩 The nausea is constant, I can eat but I’m not really enjoying it and I love 💗 my food. Like you if I don’t eat it’s worse. I start dry heaving, so I’m eating all day but then I feel bloated and tired. I totally relate to not fancying anything, I’m usually seeing food on the telly or in a restaurant and thinking mmmm 😋 but now it’s nothingness!
I’ll let you all know how I get on Weds 😉

cbear1989 · 19/10/2024 21:19

@Kaybee1989 🤣🤣 literally feel exactly the same, I can't wait to actually enjoy food again!! I thought sod it and treated myself to some galaxy today, figured if I'm miserable I may as well try and enjoy some chocolate but it just wasn't the same 🤣🤣 hopefully in a few months we will feel more normal!

Looking forward to hearing how you got on Wednesday! 🤩

cbear1989 · 24/10/2024 16:09

Hi @Kaybee1989 how did you get on with your midwife yesterday? I had mine this afternoon, she's sooo lovely so I'm hoping I can keep her for my whole pregnancy 🤣🤞 I've gotta wait for a letter to come through for my 12 week scan now though, so am on proper tenterhooks 🤣🤣 did you get yours or are you waiting too? xx

Kaybee1989 · 24/10/2024 18:01

@cbear1989 Hi, it went well. I’ve got a male midwife and he was lovely, very friendly! He asked me lots of questions about my health, my partners health and my parents health. He gave me a pregnancy book, which has all my details in it and some information/advice etc. He weighed me and took my blood pressure too. He doesn’t have an ultrasound machine unfortunately but he did book me in for my 12 week scan on Friday 8th November. Two weeks tomorrow! 🥰 I’ve got a blood test and urine test this coming Tuesday, and then I go back to see him mid December. He said that I’ll see someone about every 4 weeks, either him for a checkup, or at the hospital for a scan for the first & second trimester.
Remember we thought we’d be high risk geriatric pregnancy? Well I’m only medium risk due to it being via IVF, it’s over 40’s that become high risk 👏 I know it’s not really important but I’m glad I’m not being called an old biddy 😂🫣
How do you feel after the appointment?

cbear1989 · 24/10/2024 18:22

@Kaybee1989 🤣🤣🤣 oh I love that, woo go us - we aren't geriatric mummas after all!!!💃🥳

Yeah sounds similar to me too, lots of information collecting and information giving today but it was all good, I just feel really excited afterwards tbh - can't wait for my 12 week scan to come through so I can see how little one is doing! I'm gonna check my online portal every day to see if my appointment letter is there so I'm very jealous you have your date already haha so exciting that'll come around so quickly, how far along should you be by then?

Same as you though have my booklet to read through and loads of bloods to get done so have booked those in for Tuesday next week, exciting times!

Also am still feeling sick as a dog 😅🤦‍♀️ when will this pass... haha 🥴🤣 how have you been feeling?

Kaybee1989 · 25/10/2024 15:48

@cbear1989 I’ll be 11weeks+6, almost 12 weeks, on the day of the scan. I’m 10 weeks tomorrow and these next two weeks are going to feel like eternity 😂
Ive been struggling with nausea the whole time, but today has been better just coming in waves today. Tomorrow will probably go back to sick again but I’ll enjoy today for what it lasts! My midwife said that the main hormone that can cause nausea is progesterone, which I and at least @LimeTurtle that I know of are taking extra of, and that IVF ladies suffer more than normal due to the extra hormones and if that’s not enough, we suffer from fatigue more 😂😂😩 It’s a good job we really want these babies 💓
Hows everyone else feeling?

I'm so glad to hear that @Kaybee1989 & @cbear1989 midwife appointments went well ! Onto another exciting step 😌 I feel okay, I still haven't had sickness which I'm happy about. I've felt nauseous but only comes now and then, I've just been so exhausted ! I'm finding it really hard to work at the minute without wanting to fall asleep in the afternoon ! So I might see if I can ask for some shorter hours and less travel. I've had a few cramps here & there but overall feeling good 💗

Hey @LimeTurtle aww that's so lovely!! How far along are you? I'm supposed to be exactly 10 weeks today, funnily enough I was just gonna wait for the 12 week scan to come through but we decided to book a private scan as we want to tell our parents and our besties that we are seeing this weekend, plus it'd be reassuring to check little one is all okay in there. So we are doing a private scan Saturday morning and then off to tell my mum and dad, am so excited! xx

Hi !

I am 10 weeks on Saturday ! So only a little behind you 😌 that's so exciting ! It's very surreal. I bet you can't wait to tell people as well ! I've told my closest friends as they knew I was going through the IVF process but I so can't wait to tell everybody else at 12 weeks 🥹 ! Good luck for Saturday ! Let us know how you get on 💗

@LimeTurtle @cbear1989 Awww that’s so exciting! How lovely for you to see baby again and hear the heartbeat 💓🥰 I bet it’s so reassuring!
My 12 week scan is a week tomorrow so I’m gonna hold out until then. I’ll be 11 weeks on Saturday 💖
How're the symptoms going? My nausea is slightly better which is a relief but I’m just knackered.

cbear1989 · 31/10/2024 08:21

@LimeTurtle aww that's so lovely! Were they all super excited? I feel like my parents and some of my besties have been on this infertility journey with me and I couldn't have gotten through it without them, so I'm so so excited to finally tell them. My mumma is gonna be so happy 🥹💕 Thank you so much though, I'll let you know how we get on!

@Kaybee1989 ah amazing you're so close to 12 weeks it'll be here before you know it! I'm still waiting for my appointment to come through after my midwife appointment last week but Saturday will help in the meantime. Same re symptoms, I'm defo still feeling a bit sick but it does feel a lot less severe than it was, much more manageable. I keep waking up at like 3 or 4 am every night at the mo though which is an annoying new one but hey ho, an afternoon nap sorts that out 🤣🤣

Yes ! They were all so excited ! Just told me to relax and enjoy being pregnant now as I've been a bit of a nervous wreck I won't lie 🤣 just constantly worrying I felt so sick before my scan last night. Im so glad I did it though as I can relax today and I'm on countdown to my 12 week one 🤣

I have had the weirdest dreams !! I've also been waking up at 12:45 and 3:15 everyday 🙃 I'm usually such a deep sleeper so this is so odd for me so I'm glad you've said the same 🤣

Hey girls,

Lovely to read all the positive stories, I had my first midwife appointment today and she's absolutely lovely.

I also had a scan today 8+6 days, I'm really lucky I don't have many symptoms at all just the extreme tiredness and thirst.

I'm a low risk pregnancy, have my net midwife on the 19th December and will wait for my 12 week scan in the post.

cbear1989 · 01/11/2024 12:28

@LimeTurtle aww that's so lovely, can't believe I can FINALLY tell my mum and dad tomorrow I am so excited. And I agree you defo can just relax and enjoy it now, you got this!!💕

@Natasha90 that's amazing congratulations on the scan and seeing little one! Glad all of your appointments have gone well too, so exciting isn't it.

I've got my private scan tomorrow so super excited for that and have finally had my 12 week through for two weeks on Sunday, next midwife appointment is the week before Christmas. Have a lovely weekend everyone! xx

@cbear1989 how did your weekend go telling your friends and family ? 😌

@Natasha90
@LimeTurtle hope you're both doing okay ?

I wanted to ask your opinion on something, I want to tell my step daughter this weekend as next time i see her I'll be over 13 weeks. But I also am debating telling everyone else this weekend too. I think it's excitement 🤣

Am I jumping the gun doing it before my 12 week scan ? Even though I had a scan last week. Just want all your opinions please 😌

Hello @LimeTurtle my 12 week scan is on the 26th November.

I told my stepdaughter who I have full custody of (I've had her since she was just over 2)

she's 16 weeks in 2 weeks.
Initial reaction was a lot of tears but much happier now. This was due to her biological mums behaviour.
I told a majority of my family last Friday so 9 weeks and some close friends.

cbear1989 · 05/11/2024 09:10

@LimeTurtle aww my weekend was a dream, so many happy tears and hugs ill never forget it. My scan was amazing too, I was just over 10 weeks and it's wild how much it now looks like a little baba! Have got some gorgeous little video files from it aswell of our little one moving their arms and legs and jumping around 🥰🥰

I think it's completely upto the person when and who you tell, there's no right or wrong time! I think the thing is for our situations with IVF is that we get to see baby so early on and regularly, whereas a "normal" pregnancy they wouldn't have seen baby once until 12 weeks unless they choose to book an extra scan. I mean it's crazy really we've already seen baby twice 🤣🥰 We haven't actually told everyone yet, just parents and our besties, we are gonna wait til our 12 week scan to then tell siblings, grandparents and our other friends just incase, but for me I had to tell our parents and besties because if the worst were to happen (and I'm sure it'll be fine), I would need them more than ever.

Sorry massively long winded response but I think if you've seen baby is okay, and you feel comfortable telling whomever then you should. Luckily I only have to wait til next Sunday for my 12 week scan 🤣😍 to be honest the weekend has defo helped with telling a few of our closest people to tide me over til then 🤣🤣 hope that helps! xx
