Hope you're all feeling ok post EC. 💕
Has anyone had any idea of timescale when the withdrawal bleed will be and how many periods before the FET cycle?

Hi Everyone!

Hope it’s alright that I join this thread. Just a quick introduction, we’re currently in the midst of our first cycle of IVF, we have transferred two day five embryos on July 4th. We’re in week one of the TWW and still debating if we should test 7 days post transfer. We’ve opted to do the transfer with as little medication as possible. The transfer was timed to my natural ovulation and I’m currently on Cyclogest twice a day. Please feel free to ask me any questions, I’m an open book and hope that I can help :).

@Kaybee1989 perhaps you’re already doing this, but try testing first morning pee. I’ve heard that if the pee is more concentrated, it can better read the HCG levels. I have my fingers crossed for you!

Sunnydaysahead1 · 11/07/2024 13:15

Hi @JennyLin congratulations on your transfer! How are you feeling? I hope the TWW is going ok for you and isn’t dragging on too much. Have you decided whether you’ll test early?

JennyLin · 11/07/2024 14:41

@Sunnydaysahead1 Hi! Transfer went smoothly and feeling pretty normal aside from tiny cramps, feeling super thirsty and since 5DPT I have been waking up at 6am feeling super hot idk why. I caved and tested this morning and the test was negative. I still feel hopeful because I’m 7DPT and my period is in two days so I might test again then or just wait until tww is over. Been in between hopeful, angry, sad and 1000 other emotions 🫠. I low key feel a little bit of regret testing at 7DPT, maybe I should’ve just waited

Sunnydaysahead1 · 12/07/2024 12:55

@JennyLin sorry to hear you got a negative yesterday, but like you said it’s still early and there’s still hope! I totally get you with the whirlwind of emotions, just allow yourself to feel whatever you need to feel! How are you today? I’ve got my fingers crossed for you that you get your positive in the next few days 🤞🏼

Luckily my cyst has reduced down to 5cm now so my clinic is happy for me to go ahead with a transfer after all, so I’m feeling relieved about that. Just testing for LH surge each day now and hoping my lining gets thicker, and I’m anticipating my transfer to be in the week of the 22nd July some time.

I hope everyone else is doing ok ❤️

JennyLin · 12/07/2024 14:23

@Sunnydaysahead1 thank you for keeping me in your thoughts! I couldn’t help myself and tested again this morning 8DPT with a different brand and saw the faintest line, I hope my mind isn’t playing tricks on me. Will test again tomorrow morning. 🤞

They found a polyp (5mm) in my cervix during one of my scans when I was on stims, it got smaller (3mm) when it was close to transfer date. Based on what I’ve asked (all the technicians that scanned me and my doctor) as long as lining is >10mm and is trilaminar in appearance, most likely should be fine but definitely double check with your doctor. I hope your lining grows nice and thick and sending you all the sticky vibes!

Sunnydaysahead1 · 12/07/2024 17:29

@JennyLin oooh that sounds encouraging that you’ve had a faint line! I’m feeling optimistic for you ☺️ best of luck for tomorrow morning!

Yeah my lining was 4mm yesterday and they’d like it to get to 7 or 8mm. Hopefully it grows over the weekend, it wasn’t a problem on my previous transfer so I’m not too worried at the mo 🤞🏼

Seasidegirll · 13/07/2024 09:43

I jumped back on this thread and then disappeared again!! @Hollielouise im so so pleased for you, so many congratulations! I’m really sorry to everyone else that has had a negative test, sending you lots of love.

I had my second scan yesterday and my lining was nice and thick so we’ve been booked in for our transfer next Thursday! I started on cyclogest this morning, I’m doing them 3 times a day 🤪. Hope everyone else is ok!

Becky105 · 13/07/2024 14:11

Hey everyone, I'm having a bit of a wobbly day today. I'm a bit fed up with my partner and feel like I'm on my own with all my ivf feelings. I'm already feeling stressed, over thinking my diet, daily routine, chemical exposure (was cleaning yesterday), have had a headache since yesterday afternoon and trying to get ready for holiday on Monday. She is just breezing about stressing about work, having beers to relax, eating what she wants. I don't know if the hormones are just making me more irritable but I feel like all the baby making pressure is on me whilst she hasn't really checked into the process yet. The proceive max sachets make me feel really sick... Just a bit overwhelmed today. Haven't told my friends about this round (3 of my closest have just had babies in the last 2 months and I want them to invite me round send baby pics etc, not worry how I'll take it). So just can't really offload to anyone atm.

Indigopantha · 13/07/2024 18:50

Hi everyone,
I Hope it’s okay that I join this thread. This is my first time using mumsnet. Just a little intro, we started our first cycle of IVF last summer and had a FET in May that was negative.

I’m booked in for my next FET on July 25th, with our last day five embryo! My partner works away half the year and isn’t back home for another month, so looking to get some support on here :) my friends don’t know about my second transfer.

@Becky105 I’m sorry your feeling overwhelmed and a bit unsupported by your partner right now, I totally feel like that sometimes.. it can be a Lot of pressure. when you’re micromanaging your diet etc.. it’ takes up a lot of brain space and energy. And my partner is still able to enjoy margaritas and pizza 😂 which I would die for!

Sunnydaysahead1 · 14/07/2024 10:15

@Seasidegirll that’s great to hear you’ve got your transfer booked in! How are you feeling about it? And how’s the cyclogest going?

@Becky105 I’m so sorry you had a tough day yesterday, I totallyyy get the overthinking diet, chemical exposure etc, I feel so similar, it can really take over everything. But I’m so sorry it feels like your partner isn’t really checked in. Have you been able to express any of this to her? And if so how has she responded? Are there things she could change/do that would help you feel more of a team right now? I hope you’re feeling a bit better today.

@Indigopantha congrats on getting your next FET booked in! I think mine will be the same week as you, although I’m not sure exactly which day yet. So we can help each other through the tww! Sorry to hear your partner won’t be around, will anyone else be with you for the transfer etc?

Becky105 · 14/07/2024 13:28

Thanks @Indigopantha and @Sunnydaysahead1 I'm feeling brighter today. I had a talk with her and I think I articulated myself a bit better, she heard and understood what I was saying and has been more engaged today. She thought I was saying she can't drink on our all inclusive holiday next week, so she was imagining me being the fun police to her holiday but I explained it's already going to be tough for me... I don't mind her drinking at all but on the flip side I don't want to feel like a sober lemon amongst a sea of drunken wedding guests and not go into it feeling like she's got my back and is understanding of all the stress I'm under. Even as I write this I know I sound like the fun police 🤣🤣🤣. Maybe I'm not got at articulating myself after all, but she has now asked about the medications I'm on and what they do. She's helped me work out a new schedule for the time difference to take my meds. She even to pack the finger tea because I always feel really sick... So I'm happier today

Hoppy1985 · 14/07/2024 13:41

@Becky105 I understand this, I had a similar conversation with my husband the other day. Just because one person has to do all the "heavy lifting" shouldn't mean the other gets to just carry on as normal and take advantage of having a dressy driver! 🤣

Hoppy1985 · 14/07/2024 13:45

@Kaybee1989 did you test again my love?

Sorry for those experiencing the disappointment of negative tests and congratulations to those experiencing the joys of a BFP.

My progynova and cyclogest has arrived so now just waiting for my period to start in around a week to begin my very last FET cycle. Hoping and wishing so hard 🤞🏽

Becky105 · 14/07/2024 15:07

@Hoppy1985 I'm glad you get it. She's great and lovely in lots of ways but last time we had 3 failed cycles, I think she only started to properly engage with the process in the 3rd round. She's great during stims but seems to think the transfers happen all on their own. (I'm sure she doesn't) but now that we're communicating better I feel relieved.

Goldpanther · 14/07/2024 16:03

Hello, hope you don't mind me joining.

We've been doing long protocol with the NHS. Had our first fresh transfer on 13th July and now in the 2ww. Our clinic have said to wait 14 days to test, feel like the time is going to pass so slowly!

I'm starting to over analyse and worry about everything.

Faith2024 · 15/07/2024 11:25

Good luck with the lining scan today @kirstysmbc . I had mine this
morning and everything looks good for 22nd transfer. Just can’t believe this moment has come.

@Goldpanther hang in there, you’ve got this. Not overthinking is hard but give yourself also moments of calm, it helps the process.

LeoStar24 · 15/07/2024 11:29

Hey all,

I hope you don't mind me joining this group. I have started my medicated FET and have my first scan tomorrow. I am hoping for a transfer towards end of this month.

I am feeling a bit more anxious with the FET rather than the stims, maybe it's because it's more real than the stims!

kirstysmbc · 15/07/2024 12:12

@Faith2024 Thanks and congrats on the successful scan! My lining was 10.3mm this morning, so hopefully I'm all set for next Monday too. My clinic like a progesterone blood test to check that levels are low before starting the next lot of meds, so just have to hope that's good too. Fingers crossed we'll be transfer buddies 😃

@LeoStar24 @Goldpanther Welcome both, and good luck

Indigopantha · 15/07/2024 12:22

Hi @Goldpanther nice to see another big cat in the chat! Try to stay busy in your TWW and hopefully that will help the time go quickly, also a good excuse to binge watch a few series 😉 have you told any of your friends? Or are you having to secretly not drink at BBQ’s etc?

@Sunnydaysahead1 that’s great that your FET is the same week, will be nice to have someone else sharing the TWW. I’m flying out to Spain on my own, last time I had my friend that lives in Madrid come with me. But I think I’ll be okay on my own. I’ve got my scan today to check my lining, so fingers crossed It’s all good!

@Becky105 So glad you’re feeling a bit better after chatting things through and its great that your partner is being so helpful and supportive now. I’m sorry you had 3 failed cycles already. I was really down after my first failed cycle.

@JennyLin did you test again? The faint line sounds encouraging!

Sunnydaysahead1 · 15/07/2024 14:46

@Becky105 so glad you’re feeling better now, and you definitely don’t sound like the fun police! It’s a difficult and important time so it makes sense you want to be on the same page. When are you due to have your transfer?

@Hoppy1985 oooh I’ve got my fingers crossed for you!

@Goldpanther hi! Hope you’re doing ok and keeping yourself distracted in your tww, the waiting can be so excruciating can’t it!

@Faith2024 @kirstysmbc great news your linings are both looking good, not long now! ☺️

Welcome @LeoStar24 and best of luck with your scan tomorrow!

@Indigopantha I hope your lining scan goes well today! I had mine this morning too, it’s around 6mm so still needs to grow a bit, have another scan booked for Thursday. And that’s great you feel happy to go out on your own. Will you stay in Spain for a bit or come straight back?

EvaA17 · 15/07/2024 14:47

Hi all!

Sorry I also disappeared from the forum again. So much to catch up on! To all the new people who have joined - welcome! To everyone who has had a negative test result, sending you tonnes of love and warm virtual hugs and fingers crossed for those that are still yet to test.

I had my day 14 scan this morning and my lining looks good,10.7mm and I'm due to have my transfer next Monday. I am due to start the cyclogest on Wednesday, twice a day. My nurse told me not to start running and walking about immediately after doing the cyclogest, was anyone else told that? I didn't realise I'd have to wait a bit before starting to move around. I'm excited and nervous as this is my first transfer. @Faith2024 @kirstysmbc looks like we are having our transfers on the same day! Xx

Goldpanther · 15/07/2024 15:38

@EvaA17 I've been on the cyclogest pessaries for a weekish now, no advice not to move around!

From experience so far
Vaginally - it gets messy so wear old knickers/ a panty liner. I also didn't insert them vaginally on the day of embryo transfer.
Anally - Go to the loo first if you need to. Also the vegetable fat still comes out, but erm doesn't leak out like if you take them vaginally (I would have liked some warning about this! Had to call the clinic to check I was okay 😳)

kirstysmbc · 15/07/2024 16:09

@Sunnydaysahead1 Thanks! How are you getting on?

@EvaA17 Yay, great news on the lining scan, and great to have another potential transfer buddy. I've taken cyclogest in 7 transfers and never been told not to move around after taking them. I usually do mine rectally as it's much less messy and they absorb really quickly. I know some people have been advised to lie down for a bit after taking them vaginally, but think that's about avoiding mess rather anything to do with effectiveness.

Hollielouise · 15/07/2024 17:08

@EvaA17 exciting news on the scan!

Yes re the cyclogest! I'm on them twice a day and have been since before transfer. I lie down for 20-30mins after taking them. Different if you do them rectally but otherwise yes lie down if you can - they do melt and come out much quicker without lying down.

Hey all,

I had my scan this morning and lining is around 2.7mm which is good. Starting progynova today and hopefully transfer will be 1st Aug!

Did anyone get side effects with progynova?
