Starting a new thread for those now on a freeze all from May and any others x

@Gnatalie16
@EvaA17
@Seasidegirll

Hope you're all feeling ok post EC. 💕
Has anyone had any idea of timescale when the withdrawal bleed will be and how many periods before the FET cycle?

Hey all,

I had my scan this morning and lining is around 2.7mm which is good. Starting progynova today and hopefully transfer will be 1st Aug!

Did anyone get side effects with progynova?

Congratulations! 🥳 Just constant headaches until I got used to the dose - if you're taking 4 tablets a day you can space them one at a time throughout the day + loads of water 👍🏼

Thanks @Sunnydaysahead1 and @kirstysmbc. I am starting all the meds tomorrow and it does seem rather a lot. It will be worth it if the outcome is positive. Strange to get a testing date for pregnancy as well, 2 weeks after transfer but they did offer a blood test 12 days after if I wanted to check that way.

Good luck to everyone else as well.

LeoStar24 · 16/07/2024 21:15

@Hollielouise thank you!

I am on 3 orally and 2 vaginally a day and have another scan next Tuesday!

I am finding this to be more full on than the stims part of IVF!

I completely agree. I much preferred the stims stage! 😂 I'm sure you're doing fabulously - I'm 3 weeks post transfer today and still on the Progynova, cyclogest and prontagest and thankfully no side effects anymore so your body does adapt! You've got this 💪🏽

Waiting for my first pregnancy scan next Tuesday when I'll be 7 weeks and time has never gone slower 🙇🏼‍♀️

@Hollielouise I didn’t know progynova needed to be taken for that long! Just assumed it would drop off after progesterone.

I am also going to be on lubion x2, cyclogest x2, inhixa injection once a day and prednisolone as well. At least my allergies will drop off as they always do with steroids- got to find the silver lining I guess.

kirstysmbc · 16/07/2024 21:55

@Faith2024 Not only are we going to be transfer buddies, but I'm on almost the same meds as you! 3 progyniva, 1 lubion, 2 cyclogest, clexane (blood thinner), prednisolone and I'm on aspirin too. I feel like a walking medicine cabinet! And I think this clinic (I'm using one in Portugal) want me on them to 12 weeks. With my daughter I was on progesterone and oestrogen to 10 weeks...

EvaA17 · 16/07/2024 23:30

@kirstysmbc @Goldpanther @Hollielouise thank you for the tips and advice for the cyclogest. I do my first one tomorrow morning so will make sure to lie down for a bit after it as I've been told to do it vaginally.
Let's see how it goes.
Did you have to still do the cyclogest on the morning of the transfer @Hollielouise?

Hollielouise · 17/07/2024 08:21

@EvaA17 Good luck with them. You get used to the mess - lying down helps enormously though and just wear a liner through the day for any later spills!

I did mine as normal on the day of transfer - they just said they clean it all out before transfer anyway as the residue has built up over the previous days!

@Faith2024 I know - it's so long! Everything keeps going until I'm 12 weeks 🫠

Faith2024 · 17/07/2024 09:12

@Hollielouise I think I ll get used to it, no choice.

@kirstysmbc glad I am not the only one. They told me up to 10 weeks. I managed all the meds this morning, no time to lie down etc for any of it as I had to catch a train and drop off toddler at nursery. My partner is travelling for work. Anyway, we got this 💪🏾

Indigopantha · 17/07/2024 09:54

Hey everyone, I had my scan on Monday and I was 10.7mm which is good, flights booked and FET date confirmed 25th. getting excited now! ✨

@Faith2024 @kirstysmbc I’m going to be on the same meds, clexane, predisone & Aspirin too. Everything until 12 weeks, which seems so long! I’m going to be taking Ultrogestan instead of cyclogest. my clinic is in Spain, so maybe a different brand name.

@Sunnydaysahead1 i hope your scan goes well today! Fingers crossed for you. I’m not staying in Spain sadly, we’re trying to make the trip as cheap as possible, as we’re getting married end of August! It wasn’t all meant to happen at the same time! 😧 🤣

kirstysmbc · 17/07/2024 13:32

@Indigopantha My clinic is in Portugal, and I think they do seem to throw everything at it, just in case! I hope you have been able to find reasonable flights, my ticket cost £500, double what I paid last time. Good luck with all your meds

Indigopantha · 17/07/2024 15:43

@kirstysmbc OMG! 😧 £500! I was lucky, I got mine for £170. It will all be worth it! 🤞🏼✨💕

Faith2024 · 17/07/2024 20:41

@Indigopantha congratulations on your upcoming wedding.

First day of meds went well, just the inhixa was a bigger needle and I must have done something wrong or gone too slowly but it bled a bit & site feels bruised. There is always one injection that’s a pain!

SamVan · 17/07/2024 21:43

Hi all! Please could I join? I’ve just completed my freeze all ivf cycle and have 3 embryos. Waiting for my modified natural transfer which should be in 2 weeks roughly! Both excited and extremely anxious about it. Is anyone else on a modified natural? My understanding is it’s wait till follicle is 18mm then hcg trigger then 7 days later transfer.

kirstysmbc · 17/07/2024 22:10

@SamVan Welcome! I've never done a modified natural so can't help there, but hopefully someone else here can help.

@Faith2024 Ouch, I'm sorry the inhixa didn't go well today. My first few clexane injections were really bad and my stomach was completely black and blue. I did a lot of googling to find hints and tips. I've found doing them very very very slowly helps, and making sure there are no drops on the tip of the needle before starting helps. Hopefully the next one will be a bit easier, but def take a look online.

Seasidegirll · 18/07/2024 10:29

Just on our way for our transfer, feeling SO
nervous/excited/anxious/apprehensive. So many feelings haha

SideEyeMoon · 18/07/2024 10:49

Can I join in? I'm not doing a FET so I don't completely fit in but I'm currently doing an egg thaw, fertilize and transfer. So I think I fit in here better than the full IVF thread.
I froze some eggs 7 years ago (8 eggs) and am finally using them. They defrosted all and 6 fertilized. If any survive to day 5 I'll be having transfer on Sunday.
This will be my 4th transfer if so as I've previously done 3 fresh IVF rounds which all failed. And at 43 now it's time to use the frozen ones as a final go.

Twomumfamily · 18/07/2024 10:54

Hello everyone, may I join? I feel a little bit of an imposter this time as my Wife is carrying now (same sex couple), but I found these threads so helpful previously, I hope you don't mind.

A little bit about our journey so far - I have done several failed IUIs, and a round of IVF and a failed fresh transfer to myself. I also did half a FET cycle but unfortunately I got injured before the transfer and it was unable to go ahead.

My Wife has now stepped up, while I am recovering, and she is several days into Oestrogen tablets, with a likely FET in early August with my embryo (we will now be doing reciprocal IVF). I never got to the point of doing the progesterone injections, are they painful? Is there anything you would recommend that I can do to help her during this time?

Good luck to everyone, going ahead in July/August, my fingers are crossed for you all x x

Indigopantha · 18/07/2024 12:19

@Seasidegirll excited for you! @SamVan congratulations 3 Embryos is great, more chances the better. We only had 2 eggs but both were good quality Embryos.

I didn’t have the pill cycle.. so I think mine is modified, we waited until the first day of my period and then took estrogen & then progesterone. And I had an injection before to stop ovulation for my cycle, (My clinic is Spanish, so their explanation was that it is a modified cycle) is this the same for you?

Indigopantha · 18/07/2024 12:33

Welcome! @SideEyeMoon & @Twomumfamily 😊🙋‍♀️

@SideEyeMoon I’ve read that Frozen transfers can be more successful than fresh, hopefully you will be having your transfer on Sunday! That’s really exciting! I’m 42 so we are in the same boat. Sending positive vibes your way!

@Twomumfamily sorry I didn’t have progesterone injections, I had vaginal suppositories. But I did have cleaned injections. That’s lovely that you’re thinking of how you can support your partner 💕🥰 you could maybe offer to do the injections? I have to do all mine, as my partner is away. Does anyone have their partner do theirs?

@Faith2024 The clexane injection, like you said go really really slowly and at the first hint of it hurting I would choose a different site, the majority of the time it was fine but the odd one would hurt and bleed.. I have to choose swimsuits this summer instead of bikinis! 👙 so I don’t show off the bruises! I heard icing the skin before and after helps, but I’ve never had time to go get ice cubes 😂

Sunnydaysahead1 · 18/07/2024 12:47

@Seasidegirll oooh wishing you all the luck for your transfer today! Are you doing anything nice after? Hopefully this is the one! 🤞🏼

@SamVan welcome! I’m on a modified natural cycle too, sounds very similar to mine although my follicle hasn’t quite got to 18mm but they’re happy for me to trigger today as it’s 16mm and my lining is ready at around 8mm (and I think they want to avoid having to scan me over the weekend). I’ll then be taking Cyclogest 3 times a day from Saturday and my transfer is booked for next Thursday! Where are you at with yours now?

Welcome @SideEyeMoon that’s great 6 have fertilised! I’m sorry to hear about your failed fresh cycles, hopefully you have success this time with doing something different 🤞🏼

@Twomumfamily its lovely to have you here, I’m also doing reciprocal ivf 😊 (I’ll be carrying my wife’s embryo). I’m sorry to hear about your experiences so far and your injury too, I really hope it goes better for you this time!

@Indigopantha sorry to hear about your bruising, ouch!

SideEyeMoon · 18/07/2024 13:04

@Twomumfamily which progesterone injections are they? Lubion or the intramuscular one?
I've done the intramuscular one in my bum cheek in the past (well I say me, my husband had to do them for me), and it actually didn't hurt much at all. The normal IVF stomach injections hurt more. If it's lubion in the stomach I haven't done that.... yet. That might be to come on Saturday depending on what my blood test shows!

kirstysmbc · 18/07/2024 13:12

@SideEyeMoon @Twomumfamily Welcome and good luck to you both.

@Twomumfamily I've done a lot of lubion injections and I don't find them too bad, but I know some people find they sting a bit. I do sometimes find the needle can be painful in some spots so will move before I start if it seems a bit sore. I hope your wife does ok on them too.

@Seasidegirll Good luck on your transfer and fingers crossed for a not too stressed tww!

Twomumfamily · 18/07/2024 13:31

Hi everyone! Thank you so much for being so welcoming!! I am still finding my place as non-gestational mama so I really appreciate it 💕

@Indigopantha Thank you, yes I am hoping to do all her injections (she did all of mine) which helps to feel involved. Are you/did you do a natural transfer with just the pessaries? That is what I did with our fresh cycle too :)

@Sunnydaysahead1 Ah how lovely, I don't know anyone else who has done reciprocal 😍 - how have you & your partner found the reciprocal process so far? Fingers crossed for your transfer next week!

@SideEyeMoon They are Lubion injections, I had heard that the intramuscular ones hurt alot, but I am guessing Lubion is in the stomach so hopefully they won't be too bad then! Ah good luck for Saturday, and fingers crossed for your transfer on Sunday, that is a brilliant fertilisation rate! Are you doing a natural cycle for transfer?

@kirstysmbc Thank you, that is good to know. I am hoping she can ice prior as I know I found that helpful with the IVF injections!

Sunnydaysahead1 · 18/07/2024 14:23

@Indigopantha I meant to say as well, huge congratulations on getting married soon! I hope the preparations are all going well and not too stressful! How exciting 😃

@Twomumfamily I don’t know anyone else that’s done it either so it’s really nice to meet you ☺️ the process has been up and down so far I’d say.. we actually made the embryos at the end of 2022, so it feels like a long time ago now. My wife has low AMH but we luckily ended up with 4 frozen embryos and had one transferred in May which sadly failed, so this will be our 2nd transfer. How are you feeling with it all? Has your wife tried fertility acupuncture at all? I’ve personally found it really helpful 😊
