@hopefullsosbry so sorry things didn't work out for you! I understand how you feel. Hope you take some time to rest and relax and hope it works out for you soon xx

BakinABaby · 06/06/2024 09:29

@hopefullsosbry I'm so sorry it hasn't worked out this transfer. There's still a chance I think but you know your body better.

hopefullsosbry · 06/06/2024 09:39

Thanks guys ..I appreciate the comments 💖

hopefullsosbry · 06/06/2024 09:44

Plus side .. there is cheesecake in the fridge which I have not had any yet as trying to be healthy for the wee embryo .. but I think I’ll have a large slice after my breakfast ! 😂🍰 May aswell 😏

AnnieStar12 · 06/06/2024 10:11

@hopefullsosbry oh no I really thought this was gonna be your cycle! I wouldn’t totally write yourself off just yet, as there’s still a very faint line there today - so I’d still test tomorrow just to be sure it’s not getting darker. Appreciate you’d expect it to be darker by 5dpt but there’s still some hope. Could have been a late implanter!

AnnieStar12 · 06/06/2024 10:14

BakinABaby · 06/06/2024 07:55

Unfortunately my two embryos that were gunning to be frozen didn't make it so all bets are on the one in me right now. 2dpt, I'm hoping to hold out til Sunday when 5dpt for first test.

How's everyone else doing? Is anyone still in the TWW here?

rooting for your one that’s on board 🤞🤞
when will you test?

AnnieStar12 · 06/06/2024 10:15

@BakinABaby opps, sorry can see you said test on sunday. Good luck for then!

Thanks, yeh I’ll continue to test, but I think I can tell with the fluctuating line that’s it’s maybes a very early chemical, thanks though 💖

hopefullsosbry · 06/06/2024 09:13

negative for me this morning .. I kinda knew it anyways .. there's still a really faint line and trigger should prob be gone .. but I feel
something tried to implant but then came away as seems to be the pattern with me .. line looks slightly darker 3dpt and then fades again ? So strange. The only explanation for failed implementation each time can be abnormal chromosomes as we have tested for everything else .. between my age (old duff eggs) and my partners DNA frag it’s just slim pickings for us and I don’t think it will ever work .. we are thinking to try another EC with PGT testing then maybes a surrogate? But we still have the other two frozen to put in also first ..just can’t see it working though this was 6th transfer 😵‍💫

Sending you so much love and hope you are doing okay - you are amazing for keeping going through all of the challenges you have had 😘💜

hopefullsosbry · 06/06/2024 11:47

Can I just ask the group, is anyone on anything other than progesterone ? I am in another group and some are also on blood thinners and steroids .. just wondered if this is something I should try next transfer ? Any advise welcome thanks 🙏

Hollielouise · 06/06/2024 12:31

Can I ask if anyone has used any specific probiotics before embryo transfer?

Sorry I hadnt .. just the pregnacare multivitamin, which I have been taking for a while.

HopefulllHolly · 06/06/2024 13:16

@Hollielouise No none specific for vaginal microbiome, but I do take daily gut shots with lots of them in them.

ThePeachGoose · 06/06/2024 14:29

@Hollielouise I did a vaginal microbiome test before my second cycle because it looked like I could not get rid if these very mild thrush symptoms which would come and go, and in reality I had gardnerella and zero candida. This was confirmed by my gynaecologist, so I got metronidazole for myself and my husband. The microbiome also showed increased E coli and that 2 of the 4 main vaginal lacto strains were low, so my acupuncturist recommended that I take the Biocare probiotic pessary (with garlic and cranberry) and the Biocare oral probiotic for vaginal health, called Biotic I think. I would definitely recommend doing a vaginal microbiome if you have any worries, though lots of women seem to take Canesflor pessaries ahead of transfers either way, these days the imported Italian version cause I think that Canesflor got discontinued here. Optibac for vaginal health is also a very popular oral probiotic but the effect is seen after a longer period of time.

@hopefullsosbry a friend of mine did a fertility MOT during a trip to Turkey before starting her NHS round and she discovered she had sticky blood, which the NHS repeated with a thrombophilia screening and that led to her taking clexane and aspirine I believe. She’s now waiting for her viability scan from her second transfer 🤞🏻

Edited

Hi, thanks for the reply , the NHS did do the sticky blood test, which initially came back positive, then they have to do a 2nd test so many weeks later and that one was negative.. so they said they always go with the 2nd result as it can come and go in the body ? I was really confussed by this and asked for a 3rd test but they wouldn’t, saying it’s just not standard procedure to do a 3rd and that the 2nd test determines the result ? I think I’ll ask if I can just take blood thinners ‘just incase’? For my next transfer 🤷🏼‍♀️

ThePeachGoose · 06/06/2024 15:49

@hopefullsosbry oh god yes, I remember reading your post! None of that made any sense and I’m sorry you’re in such a confusing and frustrating position. You could try doing the tests privately for your peace of mind, or as you’re saying, maybe asking them whether it’s worth taking something just in case so that you change something in your protocol ahead of next time.

hopefullsosbry · 06/06/2024 15:56

@ThePeachGoose thanks, yes I’ll ask if I can take blood thinners just incase ? Can only ask. Thanks

Hollielouise · 06/06/2024 17:05

Thank you @ThePeachGoose that's really helpful. I haven't don't the microbiome test yet as this is my first cycle but I do have a box of Canesflor as I'd read good things so may just take it if others do that.

Just been told that we are doing the FET this cycle, on my withdrawal bleed rather than waiting for a natural cycle, so starting meds again tomorrow and transfer is booked for 21st! Such a whirlwind!

ThePeachGoose · 06/06/2024 17:09

@Hollielouise Just a quick note to say that Canesflor has some particular instructions “Use 1 capsule each day for 6 consecutive days and then 1 capsule per week, for 4 weeks. Each box contains 10 vaginal capsules.” but it sounds like you have a bit of time, so good luck and fingers crossed! It does sound like a whirlwind!

Ginie2024 · 06/06/2024 17:23

Hi all, I hope you're all keeping well? I've been missing a lot of messages due to work but I'm catching up! I was wondering if any of you had a successful transfer with a day 6 embryo. I read everywhere that an embryo that has reached the stage of expanded blastocyst on day 5 are significantly better but my clinic keeps on telling me that day 6 are just as good...what do you guys think?

HopefulllHolly · 06/06/2024 18:00

Hey @Ginie2024 ☺️ I follow an embryologist at the Evewell and she has done loads around day 6 embryos. She’s said they are just as good as a day 5, but there wasn’t much research until recently (IVF/fertility medicine is very fast moving) so it’s a misconception they aren’t as good quality. She says day 7 embryos may be just as good too.
