Thanks @RunningOnHope ! Fingers crossed that line gets stronger for you! 🤞🏽

This was our first round of IVF so I wasn't sure what to expect. We have a frozen one too from this cycle so will see what we can do with that x

HopefulllHolly · 01/06/2024 20:08

@RunningOnHope Cautious congratulations! I hope it gets darker and sticks around for you ☺️☺️ how lovely!!

@AnnieStar12 and @RunningOnHope I am sorry to hear of both of your history re pregnancies. I am certain this time will be different 🤞 be excited and positive 🤗

HopefulllHolly · 01/06/2024 20:09

@positivepetal It’s nothing you have done wrong, IVF/getting pregnant is always a roll of the dice. I’m positive you will get there 😊

I really hope you get some to freeze and, from what I have read/heard, those are good numbers as there is usually quite a drop off when it gets to fertilisation. So think positively if you can! 🙏🏻💕 It is about quality not quantity! I am so glad I have given you hope as I have spent the last few days feeling exactly like you but it seems to have all worked out well for now! Will keep everything crossed for you! 🤞🏻💜

Honestly, thank you so much. Spent half the day in tears thinking it’s all been for nothing and it’s wasted energy really. We can’t change the outcome now 😊 I just hope one of them turns into our baby 🤞🏻

@hopefullsosbry I did actually do the CB weeks indicator one this morning too and it already showed 2-3 weeks! I’m intrigued to see your like progression as you test out the trigger so keep us posted.

That’s good .. that will reassure you of the increasing HCG !! 😁✨💖

hopefullsosbry · 01/06/2024 20:23

@RunningOnHope thats super exciting .. fingers crossed it just get darker from now on 😁✨

So pleased for you - wonderful news!! 🙏🏻💜

Sadly, we also had a call this morning too but they weren't able to freeze anymore of ours due to them not developing as they would like them to. So we got a lot riding on this little one they put in yesterday!! Trying to stay as positive as we can with it all! It only takes one!🤞🏻🙏🏻💕

@DogMummy87 It only takes one!

Ah thank you!! Absolutely - all we can do is stay positive and hearing all the good news stories only helps so keep them coming! 🥰💜

Ginie2024 · 02/06/2024 13:43

All these great news, exactly what we need! 🥰 The embryologist called this morning, out of my 5 collected yesterday, only 3 fertilised (the norm is apparently 80% fertilisation of all eggs collected) so fingers crossed they make it to day 5 and then to PGTA 🤞more waiting to come...

Excellent, so reassuring to have a couple extra in the freezer! How’s your tests looking today? Is the trigger still showing?

hopefullsosbry · 02/06/2024 15:44

@AnnieStar12 its a lot lighter now but still there .. that’s 8 days since shot.

@Ginie2024 thats still good to get 3 .. fingers crossed they all make it to day 5 for you ✨🤞🏽

@EggsFrozenNow It was so gutting to read your posts from yesterday and I'm so sorry you didn't get more out of this cycle. I know that post egg collection disappointment very well; I've had it last year for both our eggs and sperm collections oof. Since then, I've been doing exactly what you've done (supplements, diet, acupuncture and so on) and I know that I'll be crushed too if the outcome is the same as last year. And I'm so worn down by this whole process that I have that exact feeling - another cycle after the varicocele procedure and that's it.

But the only hope I have left for that last cycle (that I'd also like to share with you) is that there's lots of studies that show that the pregnancy & live birth rates increase after a varicocele procedure (in both IVF and trying naturally), so hopefully your husband's new & improved sperm will fertilise the hell out of that egg, and hopefully you'll get a few more in the next cycle with a change in protocol.

For this weekend I would suggest getting drunk, eating all the junk food you can find, and maybe booking a little holiday. You deserve to have a bit of fun and get your mind off all this. Then when you have the energy for it, have the follow up with your consultant and see what they say, use and abuse the free counselling service from your clinic (I found it very helpful last year), and also ask for your records to get second opinions from other clinics, to see what they would do differently.

I see so many unlikely success stories on these forums that I like to believe that this is possible for both of us xx

Hey ladies!

How did you all feel after your EC (who didn’t have OHSS per say)? I had 12 follicles punctuated and 10 eggs retrieved on Wednesday and I’m still feeling pretty balloony. Not in pain really but definitely uncomfortable and a bit crampy. I did have a couple of coctails over the weekend but other than that been following the guidelines. I’m supposed to have a transfer on Tuesday but I’m wondering if I should be feeling better for that by now and I should cancel it and have everything frozen? If there is anything to freeze/transfer that is, I’m only getting updated on tues. Or does it not matter? I’m thinking that whole area there being irritated and sore might impair implantation?

EggsFrozenNow · 02/06/2024 19:46

@ThePeachGoose thank you, I really loved your words! I'm doing exactly that, ate a bunch of fried chicken and bad carbs, will for sure get drunk next week (I couldn't ytd due to sedation and can't today cos work tmr) haha. Felt pretty down ytd but much better today, I knew it was throw of a dice and all is not lost. Will see the the consultant explains the failure this season and yeah talk to a couple more, and then decide whether I stick with the current clinic for the next cycle.

Best of luck for you current cycle, hope follicles are growing nicely. I have everything crossed for you!

HopefulllHolly · 02/06/2024 21:01

@BakinABaby Hey 👋 I only had 3 eggs so I think my procedure was in and out but I was a bit achey and crampy after and I don’t think my bloat has actually gone down (but I blame the drugs for that now). I don’t think you need to cancel your transfer, you can always phone your clinic tomorrow and see what they say, but I imagine they’ll just check you over on transfer day tbh. Keep yourself extra hydrated (especially if you have had a couple of lovely cocktails) as it can make OHSS symptoms much worse if you are dehydrated. Fingers crossed it’s all good on Tuesday x

@EggsFrozenNow thank you, that's very sweet of you! xx

@BakinABaby I remember that after my last retrieval the clinic told me to take paracetamol for 2 days, but after that my ovaries were still pretty swollen and it was hurting me every time I went to pee (which was a lot cause I was told to drink about 3 litres of water a day I think). The clinic said that it's all pretty normal and that it takes about a week for the ovaries to reduce in size and not notice them as much, and to keep taking paracetamol and drink lots of water. If I remember well, the eggs are collected via the vagina wall, a needle pokes through and goes all the way to the ovaries, whereas the transfer is done into the womb via the cervix, so they're different areas more or less, and clinics are pretty used to doing transfers after collections, so I don't think that it's a problem. But if you feel like you need more time to recover, definitely take your time and do what feels right for you. Good luck!

If you're feeling uncomfortable ask your clinic to scan you and they can see how much free fluid there is and how swollen your ovaries are and then will make a decision.

My fresh transfer was cancelled as I had free fluid and touching ovaries (!) after 19 eggs collected but I actually wasn't in pain, just super tender and bloated. I'm 12 days past collection now and feel normal so just takes time... and a lot of water/salt/lucozade!
