FET June 2024

Hi,

Is anyone else planning on a FET in June? ☺️

I had my second cycle of ICSI in April and now have 8 frozen embryos.

I didn’t have a fresh transfer in April as there was some fluid left in my endometrium from ivf medication. I thought it best to wait till June so by then my body will be fully recovered.

🤞

Welcome @Eljane34 there’s a few of us in the TWW and growing so you’re in good company 😊

Hollielouise · 07/06/2024 22:17

@Sierra26 yes I was also on May ICSI! I had very mild OHSS from the 19 eggs - just felt incredibly bloated, enlarged ovaries and very tender but it faded away and felt back to normal within a few days thankfully.

Scan yesterday showed the CL cysts on my ovaries from egg collection but they weren't concerned so I've started Progynova today and have a scan next Friday to check the lining so let me know when you get started!

Natty2 · 08/06/2024 07:19

@Anna531 I'm exactly the same, definitely feeling the waves of hope and dread. Keep reminding myself it's only day 3 so far!
Hope you have a nice distracting weekend planned.

@Sherr33 I'm starting to feel abit tired on the progesterone.. and hungry!

@amkw I feel you on the pregnancy announcements. I deleted social media off my phone a long time ago which massively helps! Hope AF arrives for you today 🤞

@Natty2 It’s such an exciting time for you… enjoy it! There’s absolutely nothing you can do now so try and relax. I didn’t realise progesterone made people hungry… it’s mad what things can do to the body!

My period arrived last night. I have a feeling the clinic is shut today but I will try to phone them at 9. If not I will phone on Sunday. Is it just me who doesn’t put a towel on when they first come on? I honestly delay that for as long as I can. Same for when I’m nearly finished, stop the towel before I’ve completely finished. Hate them!

@amkw I'm the same...I remove it before I've completely finished because towards end I fit very irritated by them.

@Natty2 can I ask what you've been doing post transfer to keep yourself busy or are you purely just at home resting? Are you visiting family or friends?

I've had a couple of days off work as that can be quite a stressful environment. So DH and I have just been trying to do nice things. Go out for lunch, 30 min walks etc
I've tried to avoid family and friends tbh as again that can be quite stressful. Family ask lots of questions and friends have recently announced birth/ pregnancies so we've been better off just enjoying our own company!
What day is your transfer?

@amkw glad your af arrived and you can get started!

Anna531 · 08/06/2024 12:33

@Natty2 DPs working this weekend so it’s a super chilled weekend for me, lounging and over analysing 😂

@amkw brilliant news, frustrating the clinics closed but hopefully all on track for the dates you thought?

Sierra26 · 08/06/2024 13:04

Sounds like it could all happen v quickly @Hollielouise !

woo to AF starting @amkw. I’m still waiting for mine… 12DPO today. Been a long time since I’ve had an unmedicated cycle as we did 6m of letrozole before my egg collection cycle but I’m usually a shortish luteal so really hoping it starts tomos!

Sherr33 · 09/06/2024 06:11

@Natty2 @Anna531 my transfer is tomorrow 4pm. I ended up falling asleep early last night and missed my last two progesterone pessaries so I'm stressing out today. I was extremely bloated and had really bad tummy cramps in the evening and my hay fever was bad too so both combined just exhausted me. I really hope o haven't messed things up for myself.

Serendipity24 · 09/06/2024 07:51

@Sherr33 I wouldn't worry too much about a missed progesterone dose now because you haven't transferred yet. Just continue with the remaining doses. Here's what I found -

"If you forget to use Cyclogest
If you forget to insert a pessary, do so as soon as you remember, unless it is nearly time for the next dose. Never use two doses together. Remember to use the remaining doses at the correct time."

Natty2 · 09/06/2024 07:58

@Sherr33 agreed, try not to worry too much
I know easier said than done but best thing will be to de-stress as much as you can today so that little embryo has a nice home from tomorrow!
Not sure what's advised on hayfever, have you asked the clinic?
Hope you manage to have a chilled lead up to your transfer, good luck! ✨

amkw · 09/06/2024 08:20

Don’t worry @Sherr33 i honestly don’t think that missing two doses would affect anything at all. Good luck for tomorrow! Exciting! X

@Natty2 my clinic said can't take antihistamines and to ring a pharmacy for advice on what can be used but they said Loratidine tablets which is an antihistamine so currently suffering through it I just hope that doesn't affect the outcome. I'm just imagining myself have a sneezing fit during the transfer🤦‍♀️

@Serendipity24 thank you, glad I read that my partner just said double up on what you use today which I was going to go ahead and do! Glad I haven't

@amkw thank you.

Just to add I'm so nervous. Fresh cycle I was so positive and optimistic but this time is different. :-/ just wondering what embryo they choose. Went Asda yesterday and have got myself a 🍍 some Brazil nuts and pomegranate juice 😆 just hope my partner can rustle up some nice meals for me during the first week.

Anna531 · 09/06/2024 08:49

@Sherr33 don't panic, pre transfer I don’t think it’ll matter- if you’re worried ask if they can do bloods to check your progesterone and if it’s in any way not right I’m sure they can boost it, I’d imagine it’s more important leading into and post transfer so take all of todays.
So exciting for tomorrow, have you booked the day off to chill?

I have some spotting this morning so I’m quite concerned- I’ve read progesterone can irritate the cervix so I’m just hoping it’s something minor and trying not to panic 😢

Anna531 · 09/06/2024 08:50

😂😂😂😂 also guilty of the pineapple and Brazil nuts- DP thinks I’m crazy but it can’t hurt

@Anna531 I’ve also read that progesterone can irritate so I wouldn’t worry! It’s such a worrying time though, I’m not looking forward to constantly checking my knickers 😅

@Sherr33 This is what my friend sent me (she had a successful FET) some of the suggestions are a bit wtf but can’t hurt to try haha! I will be following it anyway… even the orange knickers haha.

@Sherr33 and @Anna531 I hear a lot about pineapples but not sure what exactly to do. Do you guys eat the whole pineapple or just the core? Any specific timing eg before transfer, after transfer etc?

Sherr33 · 09/06/2024 09:41

@Anna531 are you using your pessaries vaginally? I've always used rectally so I'm quite scared to switch up. And I wish my clinic would do bloods post transfer just to make sure my levels were okay but they don't. I've taken tomorrow off but don't know how to chill! Haha last time straight after transfer I was cleaning and doing all sorts. My coping mechanism but I hope I can refrain from it.

Haha mine was mocking me but I will try anything at this rate! Haha

Natty2 · 09/06/2024 09:50

I've been trying all of those things too! although never heard of wearing orange 😂😂 I've been second guessing myself on how much exercise to do though, generally been doing 30 min walks but you end up doubting yourself on if it's too much or too little!

@Anna531 hopefully all is ok, it could be a good sign of implantation as I thing it takes 1-5 days 🤞

Thank you for that. I was just going through it with my partner and I honestly don't know why I bother sometimes arrrghh. I havent heard of wearing orange. Hmmm. Haha watch me go upstairs and check my drawers.
Did your friend who had a positive FET say much on her activity level or was she mostly at home?

Serendipity24 · 09/06/2024 10:20

Haven’t been able to keep up with everyone due to travel.

Past week has been very stressful, the co-ordinator messed up big time leading to almost our FET getting cancelled. After the horrendous microbiome results this is the last thing I needed.

After a lot of emails, complaints, and stress, things are (almost) back on track again. Got my second scan tomorrow and will know the date of FET if all goes well.

Very best wishes to those on TWW and going for transfer in the next few days 🍀

Sherr33 · 09/06/2024 10:23

@Serendipity24 aw no that's the last thing you need! I'm so glad things are getting back on track though and can't wait for you to have a date. I'm terms of when to eat the pineapple slices with core I read somewhere that it was best to have in the morning.

@Sherr33 My partner thinks I’ve lost the plot! The just don’t get it do they.

Regarding exercise she didn’t say anything really except walks are good. I’m not a massive exercise person but I will be getting gentle walks in - helps the mind too! As long as there’s no lifting or straining I think exercise can be a good thing - though nothing strenuous.

@Serendipity24 Ahh, that’s so annoying. Glad you’re back on track and hopefully you get your date soon!

@Serendipity24 im not sure either with the pineapple 😂😂 i picked one up just after transfer, forgot about it and on Friday night DP was on the sofa with Tv snacks so I went for the pineapple. I cut slices and ate the core as well. If nothing else it kept me out of his treats 😂 Goodluck tomorrow!!!!!!

@sherr yes I take mine vaginally, I haven’t tried rectally. TMI but my meds make me need to go to the bathroom more frequently so I feel I’d lose too much. Apologies for the over share.
couldn't agree more on the progesterone testing- I see so much online that says making sure you’ve enough post transfer is so important and maybe the pessaries are enough but if I knew that or my levels I’d worry less.

fingers crossed @Natty2 but I’ve given myself that hope too many times before and always been wrong, here’s hoping. How have you been?

Serendipity24 · 09/06/2024 13:13

Thanks all.

@Anna531 If you are worried about progesterone and your clinic won't test then have you considered getting it done privately? Most testing centres do not require any referral. I got mine done last time from One Day Tests. I know it's additional costs, but could be an option if it stresses you out a lot.
