Hi, couldn't see a thread for June yet so thought I would start one.

I'm on long protocol so actually starting down regulation on 28th May, egg collection not scheduled in until 8th July.

I am on NHS and this will be my first round. Was referred less than a year ago now and have managed to loose 2 and a half stone to get my BMI down.

Anyone else due to start around June?

@SamVan I totally get why you would want it natural. We pump enough hormones into our body. I hope you get to trigger on Friday.

My follow up appointment seems so long away on the 12th August just to start giving information about possible transfer dates. What’s even more annoying is that I feel perfectly fine and back to myself now I’m drug free. All this waiting round is a killer. I’m predicted to get my period on the 8th as well so bet we end up missing the next cycle as well at this rate.

SamVan · 22/07/2024 20:34

@SlinkMcSlink that is such a long wait! I’m sorry they can’t see you sooner. Are you on the waitlist for an earlier one? If ur doing a natural it won’t be too late to start as there’s no meds until the trigger, if that helps. But if I recall correctly you need sedation for your transfer like I do. Does that mean your transfer must be on a weekend?

SlinkMcSlink · 22/07/2024 21:16

I’m under the nhs so it’s just waiting. Lots of people have said it’s a long time. I had egg collection on Wednesday 3rd July. I don’t think my hospital do weekend transfers although for some reason I think they might do a Saturday morning clinic. Yeah, the last thing they said to me was that I will probably be sedated. Does that mean it definitely won’t be a natural cycle do you think? Are you frustrated with the waiting round too? @SamVan

SlinkMcSlink · 22/07/2024 21:20

I kind of think it was because I had minor/moderate symptoms of ohss too @SamVan

SamVan · 22/07/2024 21:22

@SlinkMcSlink I need to be sedated and am also on nhs and they agreed to natural with some pushing. They wanted me to do medicated but I insisted and said I’m willing to take the risk we miss this month and will do medicated next time if we aren’t able to get timing right this time. I don’t think you definitely need to do medicated but speak to them and see what they say! Yes waiting is the absolute pits!! I am an impatient person at the best of times, and waiting is so so difficult. It’s a bit better now that some embryos are out as I was panicking about my eggs aging before. How did your embryo results go in the end? I recall you had quite a few eggs!

SlinkMcSlink · 22/07/2024 21:31

@SamVan That’s good to know that you weren’t forced into doing something you didn’t want to. Also, good for me to know as well as I want to be 100% aware of all the options.

We’ve got 4 embryos currently in the freezer. We talk about them as if they’re are mini family (probably a bit weird). I bought a new car over the weekend and we literally got a car that had lots of space for the ‘embryos’. So basically we’ve officially lost the plot!!

You’re so close to transfer!

@SlinkMcSlink hahaha I’m glad I’m not the only one. I talk about my snowman family in our clinic just hanging out with each other and making friends with other Frosties in there. 😂🙈 so yes I’ve lost the plot too.

re the OHSS stuff, I am starting my meds for FET next week all being well, and my blood tests today come back okay, despite being diagnosed with moderate ohss. Providing you’re okay and any symptoms and fluid from your organs has gone (my scan today showed almost gone now) you should be good to go.

do you think you’ll do a natural? I’m doing a medicated as I can’t do a natural so that’s my only option unfortunately

SamVan · 22/07/2024 21:50

@SlinkMcSlink yes definitely ask them to talk about that option. A lot of docs I spoke to didn’t even tell me about natural being an option as they prefer medicated as it makes scheduling a breeze.

congrats on your 4 embryos and new car! I hope in a few years all your embryos will be riding around in there! I have 3. There were 5 but 2 were apparently not good enough to freeze. I think about them and regret not pushing harder to keep them. It does feel like they are babies and I guess, they kinda are early early babies. At the moment I’m thinking about doing another ivf round to bank more embryos as I’d like 3 kids.

SlinkMcSlink · 22/07/2024 22:04

@GCS34 because I’ve never been through a transfer, I don’t know what to expect. I’ve looked up FET timelines on Google so many times! But it’s better to just talk to other people going through it.

@SamVan That’s good forward planning. I also like the idea that they’re frozen in time so they’re not aging. We’re living in crazy land but it’s the only way through! 😁

@SlinkMcSlink i think both success rates wise (natural vs medicated) are the same, so at least from that perspective there’s no decision on which. But I guess it is what works for you and what your clinic will do with scheduling. Hopefully with your cycles being regular you will have the option to do which ever you prefer. Would you rather a natural if you have the option?

strawberrylaces12 · 22/07/2024 22:48

Day 1 today so officially starting stims tomorrow eek. All feels very real. First experience or IVF for me so lots of unknowns but taking each step at a time as much as possible.

Sending lots of good wishes to everyone!!

SlinkMcSlink · 23/07/2024 08:11

@GCS34 I feel like I understand why people do a medicated cycle because then your body can’t do whatever it likes earlier or later than usual because everything is much more controlled. I find that reassuring. But the stims drugs and drugs after it made me feel like crap! My body didn’t feel like its own. I’m so torn.

@strawberrylaces12 Good luck with starting stims today!

LunaPuggies22 · 23/07/2024 11:41

Good morning everyone.
Hope you’re all well.
I had my suppression scan this morning and my ovaries have done as they were told and quietened down. So I start my stims on Thursday evening.
Also I thought I had posted the link in here but I must not have clicked “post”
My acupuncturist has given me permission to share the link to her app - it’s amazing! It’s specifically tailored to fertility and you can use ear seeds or needles or a combination of both. I’ve got both ready to use. It is effective from as little as 2 points on the body so no need for lots of needles! If anyone is interested here is the link https://bepositiveappyoupuncture.com/
Wishing you all well 🤍

So happy managed to get one good blastocyst to transfer. 2 are early blasts so going to see if they develop enough to freeze tomorrow. We're just happy we've managed to have one to transfer this time as reassuring to show we can produce a blastocyst at least! Now nervous 2 weeks wait!

SamVan · 23/07/2024 13:57

@Toon49 congrats and good luck with your tww. I’ve likely still got a tww to start my tww. Sigh

SlinkMcSlink · 23/07/2024 15:08

Good luck @Toon49

If it makes you feel any better, I’ve got nearly 3 weeks to wait just for more information. You’ve got this.

Is there an August thread btw? I feel like I should be on that.

SamVan · 23/07/2024 15:31

@SlinkMcSlink I think people usually just stay on their original threads and haven'ts een an active August thread. There is a july FET thread though and some people there will only have their transfers in August so you could join that if you want.

IVF is just constant waiting isn't it it's like torture! Starts with waiting for appointments then just more and more waiting! Hopefully all yours goes to plan in 2 weeks!

Huge congrats @Toon49 thrilled you've made it to the most horrible part of it all! 😅Hope your TWW is full of calm thoughts. When is OTD? And fingers crossed on the others! I got another 2 on day 6 which were the same as yours, so defo happens, and quite a lot too.

Thank you! Testing is 3rd August going to try to hold out until then!

Ahhh so much luck. I always rather be pupo and ignorant to it and live in that ‘maybe I’m pregnant’ phase as long as possible so I don’t want it taking away from me early by testing early 😂 that’s my rationale anyway.

Thank you sadly none good enough to freeze. Still happy with one blastocyst as at least we have a chance this time and it only takes one!
Managed one blastocyst out of 2 cycles and 20 eggs so clearly we struggle to get to the blastocyst stage guessing that's the reason for our "unexplained infertility"!

SlinkMcSlink · 24/07/2024 10:27

@Toon49 Yes it definitely only takes one! Fingers crossed 🤞. I’ll be keeping you in my thoughts.

SlinkMcSlink · 24/07/2024 13:28

Has anyone been through supplemented natural transfer or is that an American thing? I’ve seen it online where there’s some control from the clinic but not as much as a fully medicated cycle.

strawberrylaces12 · 28/07/2024 14:48

Hi all, currently on day 7 of stims and going well. Had a scan yesterday and I've got quite a lot of smaller sized ones developing so they're happy and I'm due to go back on Tuesday for another scan. Also due to start my injection to prevent ovulation this evening.

But I've just had a slight panic as I've had quite a lot of egg white cervical mucus earlier this afternoon. In a bit of a panic I did a clear blue ovulation test (the ones that show an empty circle, flashing one, or static one) and it was thankfully empty. Although I know they can show that sometimes on the first day. I've just been to get some strip tests too so will use those if needed. But my question being, is the mucus because my oestrogen levels are raising as would be expected? Not necessarily because I'm about to ovulate? Usually I'd get the ewcm about a day or two before ovulation although I have had it just on the day of ovulation before.

Sorry long post for a slight panic that I'm sure is probably not needed. I'm thankful that I'm starting Ovamex this evening but just stressing that I'll ovulate early like I have done before with IUI 🙈
