Hi, couldn't see a thread for June yet so thought I would start one.

I'm on long protocol so actually starting down regulation on 28th May, egg collection not scheduled in until 8th July.

I am on NHS and this will be my first round. Was referred less than a year ago now and have managed to loose 2 and a half stone to get my BMI down.

Anyone else due to start around June?

@GCS34 Thanks! They ring on day 6 because that’s when they’re in the freezer I guess. They let them develop the whole of day 5 to give them the time apparently. Bit like the late one on Thursday. Haha. Yes I’m doing a freeze. Just waiting on the withdrawal bleed and then hopefully can do it the following cycle. Wish I knew a date already!!
How come you’re on less meriofert? I can’t remember what you said. You must respond well.
Also, ‘muppet’ that’s one of my favourite terms of endearment. Ahahaha

@Toon49 you must be starting to get tired of waiting by now. So frustrated for you.

@SamVan definitely a good idea to keep busy.

In other news, I have finally had a poo! Yay!! Had some pineapple which seemed to do the trick.

I’m sat with the calendar trying to figure out what could be possible transfer dates depending on what happens next/when. Ridiculous I know!!

@SlinkMcSlink that makes sense. They rang me on day 4 last time to tell me my day 3 numbers and how they survived overnight. How regular are your cycles? Would your ‘normal’ period be when the withdrawal bleed is or is it out of sync? Hopefully it’ll be beginning of August so transfer mid aug so like a month maybe? How are you feeling - are you feeling better today? And congrats on the poo!!! It makes you feel so much better doesn’t it 😂 simple pleasures. I’m a different woman today!

haha I don’t know if it’s a northern thing as southern don’t use it! And I’m on low dose as my amh is 65 and my antral follicle count is like 68 or something. So low dose to stop ohss. I was on 112.5 last time so it is slightly higher this time.

SamVan · 06/07/2024 17:40

@SlinkMcSlink well done on the poo! And well done on an extra embryo! I’m gonna be doing a freeze all too. Just got the official news so we may be cycle buddies again. I find the timing difficult as I want to plan travel but it’s difficult to know. Will you be doing a medicated or natural transfer?

@GCS34 hahahaha I meant to say optimistic on the shorts 😂 yes it’s really nice doing some art but I freaked out about all the glazes and chemicals and whether they might affect my little eggs. I’m also watching the England game today. How cool that you used to be a graphic designer. I’d love to do something more creative at some point. Good luck with your move!

BirdIsland · 06/07/2024 21:33

Not sure if this is the right thread to join, starting down reg (buserelin) next Friday. Long cycle so egg retrieval some time early August, so maybe I'm a bit behind others on this thread?

This is my first round so feeling very like I don't know what to expect and a bit worried about working with what sound like pretty horrible side effects.

@SamVan haha I thought you thought I was a budding footballer and also very irresponsible playing a contact sport with my grapefruits on board. Alas, no playing just watching. Mind you, it was probably equally as turbulent watching than if I was playing after my husbands pacing / jumping / flailing 😂🙄!
I don’t think at this stage it would. Your eggs are already cooked. If you were early pregnancy I’d prob avoid but your eggs are fully baked now. What time was your trigger yesterday / what times tomorrow collection? You excited?
it had its ups and downs. Had to be creatively minded 24/7 and sometimes I’d be feeling meh and just drew blanks with my work. Still work in marketing now big digital marketing manager so creative but in a different way. What do you do? And what does mr Sam do?

Hey @BirdIsland welcome and I wouldn’t worry about dates. A handful of the girls have unfortunately had their cycles delayed a month so arent starting till end of the month, or been put on a freeze all so will be doing a subsequent FET in August and are all going to stay on her together so you will defo have company and fellow stimmers at the same time as you!
good luck - I’d say the main side effects are a bit of discomfort / bloating towards the end, farting 😂 and mild constipation - all class.

SamVan · 07/07/2024 09:34

@GCS34 I did my trigger at 2am night. I’m really upset because from 5pm I stopped having cervical fluid (still none) which suggests a drop in e2 and I felt warm like I had a progesterone rise. I’m terrified my eggs are now damaged as I know that can mess them up or indicate premature ovulation. 😭 I’m really anxious and upset they pushed me so long and now it might all be ruined.

has anyone had this experience before? I can’t think of why it would suddenly change when it’s been constant through stims. I haven’t taken anything else or changed my gonal f and I’m well hydrated. I don’t feel excited about egg collection anymore now and am already trying to figure out when I can do another round.

@SamVan Did you do any ovulation sticks prior to trigger? I’ve been doing one every day the last 3 days just to keep an eye on things and make sure my LH isn’t rising. I am sure it’s fine tho the trigger will likely stop any of that anyway. I’ve not had much CM at all so I’m not sure that is much of an indicator? What do you mean by messed up as that’s an indicator?

i think the only person I know who had this was @SP83 if you maybe could shed some light but honestly I think it’s super rare. Try not to worry too much as hard as that is. Is your egg collection at 2pm then?

SamVan · 07/07/2024 09:59

@GCS34 i understand the fluid is linked to e2 levels so the fact that it’s suddenly stopped suggests my e2 dropped before the trigger. I’ve seen some studies which say if e2 drops it suggests issues with the crop of eggs and a cycle might be cancelled. Similarly early progesterone rise isn’t a good sign. I did an ovulation test last night and it showed a mild lh rise but not peak. The thing is I could already have missed that earlier in the day. Thanks for taking the time to respond though! It’s comforting to talk about it. There’s not really anything I can do about it now so just gonna try to relax but I’m disappointed as I was going into collection feeling confident and now I don’t feel hopeful at all.

yes my egg collection is at 2pm quite late! I wil be up at 6am to eat in advance. Have you gotten timing for yours yet?

@SamVan the fyremadel will have stopped you ovulating though and they’d have defo seen something on Fridays scan that showed signs of early ovulation. And also the bloods would have shown that Friday too. Did you do your usual fyremadel yesterday in the morning then trigger at 2am this morning? Savage they made you do it at that time! Honestly try not to worry or google. What was your biggest follicle on Friday? As I say I’ve not had much cm at all so not sure if it’s a true indicator?

I don’t know when my egg collection will even be yet - I’ve not got anything confirmed until my scan in the morning. They just said likely weds, but I’ve not had that confirmed. Like @CakePigeon30 it is decided on the mornings scan but likely weds.

SamVan · 07/07/2024 15:34

@GCS34 thank you I hope you’re right! Yes I had fyremadel on Saturday morning. 2am is brutal it’s a bad time as on Monday it’s a 2pm collection so it’s hard not to eat beforehand - but my final meal has to be at 6 am! My biggest follicle on Friday was 21mm but I’m sure they missed one as on my other side I had a 21mm 2 days earlier but that one wasn’t seen on Friday’s ultrasound. Did you find your lh rose straight after your jab? I had peak lh this morning. Hopefully that’s a good sign.

@SamVan least you can eat something in the morning. Have some porridge or something to fill you up. What time is last water again? 2hrs before isn’t it? My clinic only do ECs in the morning so fortunately I know it’ll be before midday. Yeah I did my trigger at 11pm last time and I tested LH the next morning and it was at its peak so same as you

@GCS34 thanks for all the info! Mine was a bit darker than that when I did the test before my trigger but went up to full peak morning after. I’m just hoping for the best as this point there’s nothing else to be done.

it’s great your clinic only does mornings. I think mine does that normally but Monday and Friday are the busiest days due to the weekend.

last water is 3 h before so I can’t freak out and talk too much or I’ll be thirsty haha 😅

@SamVan i think that’s it - we all want this so much that we drive ourselves insane trying to predict or pre-empt what’s going to happen. One thing i learnt is to have no expectations as things change so much and you just can’t plan for anything as outcomes, plans etc all change daily, so for me i could be on track for a collection Wednesday but come tomorrow, could all totally change. 🤷‍♀️ my anxiety is through the roof today as I want to control it and figure stuff out and dates but I can’t as who knows what tomorrow will be. I had 2 x cancelled FET cycles in the past and just lost trust in my body so it’s hard to try predict. What will be will be, and I suppose we have to try and just leave it to the gods to a degree and just trust that what is meant to happen is happening. That’s my outlook anyway. I say this calmly but I’m freaking out at home right now that somethings going to go wrong tomorrow, but I have to remember that I can’t control any of it by worrying so I just try to remain level headed but it’s not easy or doable sometimes.

SamVan · 07/07/2024 20:42

@GCS34 this process is particularly hard for type a control freaks cause there’s so little control. I’m definitely finding that so hard! But also it’s a good lesson in letting go and just accepting whatever the outcome is and learning to roll with the punches. I’ve always had the perspective that you have to fight for what you want but whilst that can work to a degree here, so much is just uncontrollable, unknowable, bad/good luck.

Are you in for your scan tomorrow morning? Im hoping for the best for you! The last scan before the collection is the most stressful for sure. And I’m sorry about your cancelled fets - missing dates is so hard especially when you’ve scheduled around it and when it means another month’s delay. I’m trying to schedule fun things each month even if it might be cancelled if I get pregnant so I’m not just pinning all my hopes on it working asap as it might take a long time.

i hope it is all worth it when we have our babies in our arms!!

@SamVan I think you’re spiralling right now. Quite rightly but as a support system, I am being your positive voice and saying that I have believe that it will go ahead for you. Although, 2pm collection is ridiculous! Mine was at 10.30 and actually started just before 11am. When I woke up I was so hungry/thirsty and that’s probably why my bloody pressure was low.

You’ve got this!! I’ll be thinking about you tomorrow. Xx

@CakePigeon30 good luck for your scan this morning. Fingers crossed we’re both triggering tonight for a Wednesday collection!

@SamVan hope you managed to switch off last night and get some sleep. Good luck today!! Your worries will be put to rest when you wake up and know everything went okay. Enjoy the cheeky 2pm afternoon nap - it’s the best!

SamVan · 08/07/2024 10:18

@SlinkMcSlink @GCS34 thanks for the support ladies! I’m just guzzling water now before the cut off. Trying not to worry! I woke up this morning feeling so warm but my temp is normal so it’s probably all in my head. I slept very well - 12 to 6.30 then breakfast then back to sleep from 7 to 10. Will update you after! Best of luck for your scan @GCS34 and results @SlinkMcSlink !

@SamVan thinking of you! Hope you're off your face on happy drugs and they've got a good haul of eggs from you. Sounds like a lovely sleep overnight, followed by a 2pm nap to go with it!

@CakePigeon30 how did your scan go?

@SlinkMcSlink have you had any news yet on your embabies?

My scan went well, I'm fully cooked and booked in for EC on Weds at 10:30am - woohoo!! Set for a fresh transfer as it stands, unless I go downhill after the trigger / collection, but fingers crossed I will be all good and can try my first ever fresh. 😬

SlinkMcSlink · 08/07/2024 16:34

@GCS34 wooohoo!!! Roll on Wednesday! No, not since Saturday. They’re ringing me at some point tomorrow. I’m more obsessing about when my withdrawal bleed will appear so I can start thinking about transfer dates.

@SlinkMcSlink oh my bad - I forgot they call day 6 to tell you what they froze today. Fingers crossed their is a nice frostie family going on in the freezer for you right now!! Mine was a week after collection, so maybe wednesday?

And thanks - I am buzzing I'm in this week, and down for a fresh too so even more Eeeek! No idea how with my ovaries but they're happy as they have me on meds that will help stop ohss

SamVan · 08/07/2024 17:43

As an update guys, I had 15 eggs but the day didn’t go very well. More on this later when I’ve calmed down. I’m resting now and waiting for food.

@GCS34 yay I’m so glad you can do a fresh! All the best for Wednesday! It’s great they can do it even with so many eggs.

CakePigeon30 · 08/07/2024 18:08

@GCS34 scan went well, triggering tonight and egg collection Wednesday at 9:45. Have a few more follicles than I did at the last scan - biggest one is at 24mm now so think that one will be no good now, but happy with the rest.

I've been spotting this evening, no clue what's going on will have to ring clinic tomorrow. Has anyone else had spotting? Taking trigger tonight.
