Hi, couldn't see a thread for June yet so thought I would start one.

I'm on long protocol so actually starting down regulation on 28th May, egg collection not scheduled in until 8th July.

I am on NHS and this will be my first round. Was referred less than a year ago now and have managed to loose 2 and a half stone to get my BMI down.

Anyone else due to start around June?

@GCS34 i usually do about 9.15 but I’ll need to do it at 8.30am. I take the tube to my appointments and at rush hour it’s definitely not a good place for a jab 😅

I hope you won’t be able to have wine again for a year too!

haha I don’t know I just reminded him of it before he went in to weird him about it but he still performed fine.

I’ve been watching that documented on Netflix about that creep who fathered 1000 children though sperm donation and now I’m terrified I’ll get the wrong sperm or eggs. Does anyone else have this concern? I hear it’s safer now with double witnessing though so hopefully it’s not a real risk.

@SamVan ahh i think you’ll be absolutely fine doing it 45mins early. I just read that to time it the same time ‘roughly’ each day so I think 45mins is more than fine. And yeah shooting up on the tube isn’t the one! I’m meant to be in London for work next week but managed to postpone it a week thankfully!

ohhhhh I’ve not seen that documentary - I do love a docu series! Was he just donating soeem or did it do it because he wanted to have millions of mini him’s walking round?! I admire anyone who donates to be fair. Giving someone else a chance is awesome. But depends his drivers for doing it. Sounds seedy the way you’re saying it so I’m presuming he’s not just doing it to help family’s out?

ans I can’t say I’ve had that worry 🙈 I think the double checking stuff massively helps. But honestly not ever thought about it really. Apart from I asked about embryos getting mixed up mid way through a transfer once. And told them I wouldn’t mind them mixing mine up if it was a younger, better looking one 😂😂

SamVan · 04/07/2024 23:18

@GCS34 he was lying to people about how much he had donated and going way over the national limits for reproduction, just awful. He’s so annoying in his videos too I’m surprised anyone selected him.

ha! I just said something similar to my friends, it’s fine if they mix it up with Chris Evans’ sperm but what are the chances?! I put in so much effort my whole life (I mean that’s kinda the main goal of humanity isn’t it) find a good match whose genetic material I’m happy with. I’d be so pissed if I ended up getting some rando sperm 😂

FlutteryButtery2 · 04/07/2024 23:27

@GCS34 no, I didn’t do anything for about 4 weeks, then when I was ready to ride after my negatives horse was poorly so I couldn’t 😂

Yes am loving it, I have put on weight since negative results though

SlinkMcSlink · 05/07/2024 06:46

@GCS34 yes I’m one of the teachers haha!! Before they put me to sleep, they said the woman before me was also a teacher. Starting to think there’s a correlation here?! Job stresses you out so bad.

I’ve seen acupuncture pre and post transfer advertised in my hospital. Not sure if it’s worth it? More needles do not appeal right now. This group is really getting me through to be honest. It’s nice to read everyone else’s experiences.

@SamVan oh send the link to the programme and I’ll watch it on Netflix later! That’s sick. So he was basically doing it for the money then if he was going round multiple banks lying to donate. Thing that scares me is now that the rules and laws have changed, when said child is 18, they can legally go find their donor. So in 18 years time he could have thousands of kids rocking up on his doorstep. Right. Gives me the creeps!

haha Chris Evan’s is a random choice of speem selection! I’ll just go with ab embryo that’s really cute, from a musical background who’s dads great at sport. Then I’ll just live off their winnings in life 😅 joke … 👀 but yeah in all seriousness I think we’ll all get there but just takes sometimes more shots than one and that’s okay. I’m playing the long game 🥰 I did ask my mate who’s due In 3 weeks if I could buy one of her Frosties off her mind 😂😂

@FlutteryButtery2 awww hope the horse is better now. I used to have 3 when I was a teen but not kept it up as an adult. I do miss it but yeah, after transfer not sure a trott is the best idea 😂 and I think that’s understandable completely. Comfort when you’ve been through something really traumatic and hard is all we seek. Just be kind to yourself and you have plenty of time to get back to where you want to be x

@SlinkMcSlink haha it’s like teacher gate in here! My sister who has 2 children via ivf is head of English too so it’s defo a teachers sport! Altho hers is male factor so not strictly true but we can go along with the narrative.

yes acupuncture pre and post is really good. Ideally on the same day as. Hopefully I am going to be doing that this time - I couldn’t on my last transfer as my acupuncturist was away. It’s so good having a group I totally agree. And it helps with normalising weird thoughts you have (and sharing bowel movements 😂🙈)

good luck @SamVan

SamVan · 05/07/2024 08:12

@GCS34 Chris Evans as in captain America not the Uk presenter just to clarify things 😂 that is exactly the sort of mix up I don’t want!

im not sure how to send a link but its called “man with 1000 kids”. He didn’t get paid I think he just didn’t cause he wanted to spread his creepy genes. it is a bit draggy but you’ll get the idea after an episode or so.

good luck at your appointment too!!

@SlinkMcSlink agreed it is so nice to have other people to go through this with ❤️

@SamVan not going to lie, I thought you meant the ginger Evans and thought that was an interesting choice of people! Glad you clarified that. 😂

I’ll have a look later. I love weird stuff like that. I also watched botched and below deck so I can’t say it takes much to entertain me so I will probably be fine with it.

what did you do with your injection?

SamVan · 05/07/2024 08:41

@GCS34 yes I thought you might have haha there’s a big difference between the two 😂😂😂

i just took it and leaving for my appointment now! Although I took out the needle too fast by accident and a drop or two came out 🤦🏻‍♀️ I hope I still got enough of a dose. I also find the fyremadel syringe always has a couple of drops left in there afterwards.

let me know how your appointment goes!

@SamVan i think a lot of people have a drop come out when pulling out. I do even with stims. It’ll be totally fine 🤍 good luck for your scan. Let us know how you get on. I’m on my way now 😬🤞

CakePigeon30 · 05/07/2024 11:02

Feeling more positive after my scan today - now have 11 follicles and had four on Monday so pleased with the jump. Still quite small - only have one at 18mm the rest are between 10 and 16 so having to stim for a few more days. Egg collection should be Wednesday if they’ve grown by Monday

SlinkMcSlink · 05/07/2024 11:05

That sounds promising @CakePigeon30

SamVan · 05/07/2024 11:06

@GCS34 how was your scan? They’ve managed to find even more follicles this time (20!) but I don’t have many of a mature size and a couple of them seem to have shrunk or disappeared?! I’m not sure these scans are that accurate frankly. Based on today’s scan I have 5 over 17mm and 3 more in the 14/15 range. They said I would trigger on Saturday and hope this is right!

@CakePigeon30 that’s a big jump!! I’m happy for you :) what day will Wednesday be for you?

@CakePigeon30 that's great that you've recruited a few more eggs over the last couple of days. Sorry I didn't realise you had a scan else I'd have asked. My bad. Looks like we'll be in for Egg Collection together on Weds then 😊what day of stims is it for you today? And what size did they say that they want them at?

@SamVan that's great that they've got some more! Great that you have 5 over 17 and 3 at 14/15mm. I asked today about sizing, and they said, generally anything 11m+ yields a mature egg, so that's really promising for you! Do you wait to find out after the doctor chat / they update you?

My scan was good thanks. I have 29 in total but some are rubbish little 6's so not really counting them. 11mm and over, I have 16. And I have 6/7 that are hanging out around the 8/9mm mark so they will hopefully catch up. Estimating about 25 mature they think. Next scan Monday with potentially triggering Monday night (so that would have been 11 days of stims). But depends on Monday's scan.

SamVan · 05/07/2024 11:24

@GCS34 wow you have a ton of eggs! That’s great that they are growing well and I think even the small ones might catch up as you still have a few days to go!

i didn’t realize you could get a mature egg out of an 11mm one. I was told by a nurse when I asked that they expect mature eggs out of 17mm and above but that’s great to hear that it’s possible. I have 8 in the 10-11mm range and still have a day of stims so hopefully some of those will grow in the next day or so :) they update me tonight about what trigger to use but I’m gonna ask if I can do a freeze all. My clinic lets me start straight after the withdrawal bleed so seems worth it to avoid ohss.

@GCS34 Yeah only time having PCOS isn't a bad thing. Mine is particularly active right now, hence the numbers. I am hoping as I age, It will calm down. But that's why I don't have periods at all, as my PCOS is so angry that each month nothing has a chance of maturing as theirs just far too many of them!

They said where I'm at now, they're a lot bigger than they were on day 9 last time, so they won't have to cook me as long. So hoping that Monday will be trigger day!

Yeah tbf, last time they got eggs from everything in there (and some were only 10mm's) and they got total 40 eggs, and 39 were mature, so defo proves 10mm+ generally has mature. Good that you have another 8 in that range, so that would be what.... 17 that are 10mm and above? Which will be bigger and more by tomorrow! Exciting. You're going to do so well. Good you've opted for a freeze all - will you start the FET meds then next week on your withdrawal bleed then? What day is it today for you stim wise?

Lucymorris · 05/07/2024 12:38

Hi ladies 👋🏼 sorry I’m a bit late to the party here. I’ve just had my first failed transfer on a grade A embryo. I only have two frozen and they are both grade C. Has anyone had or heard of any success from grade C’s? Also debating whether to have them both put in. Going to try again on August cycle. Best of luck to all of you 🙏🏻

SamVan · 05/07/2024 12:52

@GCS34 I hope Monday will be trigger day for you too! Did you change your stims this time round?

Ooh that’s good to know. If it’s anything from 10mm + then I have 17. But everyone’s different and tbh I’d be happy with 8 :)

I haven’t decided whether to do a natural or medicated fet yet. I’m leaning towards natural as I ovulate naturally and it means no progesterone supplements. My clinic is happy to me to do that but has warned that there’s a risk we will miss the timing because there’s more variability so might miss a month. I haven’t quite decided what to do yet! What meds did you need to do for fet? Was it just tablets or injections too?

@Lucymorris sorry to hear your little A didn't work. All I can say is what my embryologist and consultant said which is grading doesn't mean a great deal, and if it's good enough to freeze, they think it has the potential to be a baby. And yes one of my friends had 2 x A's fail, then her 3rd was a C and she's due in August. So I hope that helps relieve your fears. But I would ask for a call with your embryologist if you can. I had 1 x B and 4 x C's in my last round, and I had a call with her to discuss them and it definitely helped. 💛

@SamVan I know! I'm struggling a bit now. They had a trainee in the scan this morning, and asked if I minded her doing it, and in hindsight I should have said I didn't want her to, as I don't think a) they counted / measured everything and b) it took way longer and a lot more moving around and prodding and I ended up crying (and I get through most painful things fine) so I hope for that matter It is Monday as she's made me well sore now! I should have known with how I was feeling that the faster and smoother the better. And yes I'm on the Magic Meriofert drug that most others are on here.

Yeah definitely - the lower the number apparently the better the quality anyway so I'd be buzzing for less right now 😂My issue is quantity over quality 100%.

That's good that you have the reliability of a natural. Do you not have progesterone then if you do a natural? And for FET it was daily Estrogen tablets, and because I have really crappy lining, I had patches as well. Then progesterone 5 x days prior to transfer and thereafter.

SamVan · 05/07/2024 14:01

@GCS34 I’m so sorry to hear about the trainee today. I hope your soreness goes by Monday and I’m sure it should. You can also ask for a tummy scan if you dont feel up to it then. You were probably feeling very vulnerable in the position too which may have led to the tears. I cried before my iui too as this awful nurse (I’ve come across her again and she is incompetent and rude) kept touching me down there for no reason just like poking me and touching the sheet on me and I freaked out and burst into tears. I hope you can rest today and feel better soon ❤️ sending good vibes your way!

I don’t know if I’ll do a natural yet due to difficulty timing it. I’ll see what the clinic suggests. Thanks for telling me what the procedure is it sounds like there’s no more jabs? That’s good cause I’m so over that. Pessaries tend give me tummy upset or yeast though. Sigh.

Toon49 · 05/07/2024 14:55

A month later than planned since we both got COVID but feels such a relief to get going this time!

@SamVan Aww thanks for the kindness. I'm sure I'll be fine just been prodded a bit more than I was expecting for 9am!! And exactly that - the fact my legs were up in the air, and the guy was showing the trainee how to move the wand, they were both looking up me at one point. I wish I hadn't agreed to it but I just felt sorry for her and thought she has to learn somehow. I just didn't realise that she was going to be THAT limited on doing them. Mad she was a midwife for 10 years too!!

Yep you're totally right - no more jabs, Just tablets. Feels very weird when you're doing it and you think 'surely I should be doing more' and they don't get you in for a scan until 2 weeks of being on the meds so you feel really disconnected, but yeah it's pretty easy and lifes pretty normal while you're prepping for the transfer.

That's great news @Toon49! Attempt 2 - no more germs allowed please! Good luck for tonight

SamVan · 05/07/2024 18:42

@GCS34 you did the nice thing by letting her scan you but yeah that sounds so unpleasant. I let a student take my blood once and it was awful. These are not beginner veins. I usually completely if it’s private but I do feel bad when it’s nhs because as you say, they do need to learn.

how are you feeling now? I’m feeling so bloated again. But I am eating for 20. I also have new ridiculous thoughts and fears everyday. today it’s - will my egg recognize my husbands sperm as sperm when we are a different race and my genetic tests show that I am like 99% one race?! 😂
