Welcome to anyone who wants to join me for their May FET! My transfer date is actually 30/04 but the TWW and test day will be in May so thought I’d see if I could find some buddies! The April thread is very full so thought it would be good to start fresh!

Look forward to chatting to you all through the madness and hearing your insights😀

@TorrentialHighSeas this time it'll just be going over for two days, hopefully that will be ok. We made it a family holiday last year, which was really nice ❤️

Hello there!!

I had my FET yesterday afternoon and am so now officially 1 day post transfer!!

This is my fifth transfer now - 2 didn't implant at all, 1 was a chemical and 1 was a miscarriage. They've all been euploid embryos.

I've changed clinics and after an immunology assessment, I was found to have elevated NK cells so have been placed on a real cocktail of drugs this time to address. I'm feeling hopeful on this one as it's the first time I've ever had an actual 'diagnosis' - previously all the standard tests have come back normal and so I've been told that I've just been 'unlucky' and that I'm in the 'unexplained infertility' category which has never sat right with me.

Anyway, fingers crossed and the very best of luck to everyone else going through this this month!!

@SETTC87 I had a double donor egg transfer last year in Cyprus, that turned into a chemical, I have a son, before him I had a miscarriage, then two more afterwards. I had testing and they couldn't find a reason why. I had the nk cell testing done and CD3 was 91.7 so a lot higher than it should be, my consultant said that puts me at risk of miscarriage, so that could well be the reason all along. Due to start intraplids tomorrow before going back over to Cyprus for a frozen transfer next week, if its successful will carry on with the intraplids till 12 weeks. Finding this out makes me feel slightly more in control of everything. Wishing you lots of luck ❤️

Rainbowsunshine81 · 09/05/2024 07:34

@DippyDuck19 that's amazing 👏 ❤️

StillTTC7 · 09/05/2024 07:54

Congrats @DippyDuck19! I tested the same days as you and had the exact same results, just didn’t want to say anything yet! Never seen a second line before, can’t believe it!

Thanks you @kirstysmbc and @Natty2! Test day is actually Sunday but I have felt so weak and shaky that I just knew something was different this time. I will wait until I get word from the clinic as to what comes next!

Thank you! Let’s hope it’s a smooth one for us ☺️
My days 5 and 6 were such squinters but I knew they were there. Had to force hubby into testing early last night and now he’s all chuffed!

@LouP87 congratulations!!!

Sherr33 · 09/05/2024 11:13

Congratulations @DippyDuck19@StillTTC7@LouP87

Now I want to go back and read everyones messages on what they did for this cycle.

I had the prostap injection last weej and have started my period yesterday so at the moment on track. Next week is my scan then will be starting estrogen tablets ellest solo with tinzaparin which is a blood thinner as at risk of clotting. Im very nervous as the prostap injection gave me RARE side effects. So im just praying i dont have anything too bad with the tablets and blood thinners.

Natty2 · 09/05/2024 11:17

@LouP87 congratulations too!!

Hoping the luck continues for the rest of this group!

TorrentialHighSeas · 09/05/2024 11:33

@DippyDuck19 @StillTTC7 @LouP87
AHHHHHHHHHHH! This is amazing! Congratulations to you all. I have everything crossed for you all that these are healthy, successful pregnancies from here on in. What lovely news for the day!

kirstysmbc · 09/05/2024 11:45

@LouP87 Congrats! This board is filling me with hope 😊

@Sherr33 I am also taking blood thinner injections (starting the day before transfer). I'm doing clexane and it isn't too painful but can bruise really badly. Definitely ask for advice on how to do it to minimise bruising. I found doing them really really slowly helped...

Sherr33 · 09/05/2024 11:49

@kirstysmbc did you notice anything else whilst on them? Im so scared.

Sherr33 · 09/05/2024 11:49

@kirstysmbc did you notice anything else whilst on them? Im so scared.

Not really. I've done so many different types of injections through IVF and luckily not had too many side effects with any of them. I think all of them can sting a little when you do them, but I've never needed to ice or numb the area.

As I say, it's just the bruising. There are lots of tips to avoid but not sure if it varies by drug, so just ask your clinic. I definitely got better at giving them after a week or so!

StillTTC7 · 09/05/2024 12:24

@LouP87 congratulations!!

Thank you @TorrentialHighSeas, will try and update throughout.

For info I did a medicated cycle which consisted only of progynova 3 times daily, and then cyclogest 3 times daily 6 days before transfer.

Has anyone here ever had a successful pregnancy? I don’t know what to do next - do you contact GP or who do you notify for scans? Sorry I am clueless!

@StillTTC7 When is your OTD? My clinic in the UK did a viability scan at about 7 weeks and I waited until after that to register with the NHS.

You'll need to check locally how to do that - in my area you can register directly with the hospital on their website rather than going via GP. It might be worth having a look at which you want to use if there are a few near you as you can go to any you like. Check out their maternity pages and they will tell you how to register.

kerrym87 · 09/05/2024 12:51

@Sherr33 I had them after hyperstimualting. The needle is quite fine so it doesn't hurt as much as my stims and fyremadel, in fact couldn't feel it. I got a bruise if I accidentally put it in a stretch mark (I've got lots!) or the needle wasn't at a 90 degree angle to skin (if it was a bit off the vertical). Get a good pinch so skin is taught and go straight in, being too gentle can make it worse but press plunger in slowly too fast shoots it in and can bruise.
If scared you can use ice/cold pack on skin a few minutes before and it numbs it really well, I do it for fyremadel as it stings and pickles as it goes in and for 15 mins after for me.
You've got this, once you do it a couple of times it won't bother you at all x

Cautious congrats to all the positives!

StillTTC7 · 09/05/2024 13:46

@kirstysmbc not until this Sunday 12th. I’m NI so not sure if we have the same stuff over here as we’re so backward?! I don’t think we get a scan with our package, I’ll have to check. I’ll get a look at it all and see what the score is thank you!

@StillTTC7 my clinic do a viability scan at 6-8 weeks and then after this you register directly with the local hospital. No need to go via GP. As PP said, might be checking out the maternity page on the hospitals website.

Rainbowsunshine81 · 09/05/2024 14:16

@StillTTC7 congratulations 🎊
