Welcome to anyone who wants to join me for their May FET! My transfer date is actually 30/04 but the TWW and test day will be in May so thought I’d see if I could find some buddies! The April thread is very full so thought it would be good to start fresh!

Look forward to chatting to you all through the madness and hearing your insights😀

@LouP87 congratulations 🎊

LouP87 · 09/05/2024 14:58

@Rainbowsunshine81 @Natty2 @StillTTC7 @DippyDuck19 @TorrentialHighSeas @kirstysmbc thanks for the cautious congratulations!

I tested a couple of days ago but very faint lines, that photo is from yesterday which was a nice bit darker so felt a bit more confident!

My OTD is Saturday so waiting until then to use
my one and only digital 😂

fingers crossed for everyone for a happy onward journey!

Loute02 · 09/05/2024 16:17

Woohoo congratulations to you all! 🎉
Embryo safely onboard for me! Now the dreadful 10 days wait before testing.
Despite taking 3 x utrogestan per day, my progesterone levels were on the low side so now I have to take lubion as well in the morning. Lucky me 😆

My clinic also offers a scan at 7 weeks for successful pregnancies.

Rainbowsunshine81 · 09/05/2024 17:27

@LouP87 ❤️ 😘

Natty2 · 09/05/2024 17:48

@Loute02 all the best for your tww!

I was thinking, of the positive tests today did anyone have any symptoms? (Apart from @StillTTC7 feeling weak) I've never seen that second line either so wondered if you felt anything different!

No symptoms for me (and still none!). I only tested early because my partner and I were actually in an argument, I was adamant that it hadn’t worked so he said to do a test then (“FINE!” from me 🤦🏼‍♀️) and then we both quickly calmed down when we saw the 2nd line.

I’ve had the sore boobs and cramping since before the transfer from the progesterone and progynova, so couldn’t say if they’re worse because of it etc!

StillTTC7 · 09/05/2024 20:33

@DippyDuck19 okay this sounds promising thanks, I hope my clinic will be doing a scan also but won’t find out until Monday now! So you were both right, we do a self referral form here to our local maternity unit for a scan at 11 weeks but would love one before that.

Thank you @Rainbowsunshine81!

@SETTC87 @Loute02 great news re transfers, hoping the tww flies for you both and you’re able to keep busy.

@Natty2 I've had 5 transfers and 4 bfp and the cycle with the most symptoms was the one where I got my only bfn! So I really don't think you can read much into symptoms unfortunately.

@StillTTC7 with my daughter I had private scans every two weeks before my nhs one. It's an expensive hobby, but for me was worth it for the reassurance after a missed miscarriage. Might be worth looking into local places that might offer one if you can't wait!

Rainbowsunshine81 · 09/05/2024 20:41

@StillTTC7 ❤️ 😘

DippyDuck19 · 09/05/2024 20:51

@Natty2 I would say I've had no symptoms out of the ordinary. I've had mild period type cramps every day and have done since I started the progesterone suppositories.
2 days ago I had sciatica for no reason but then again I do suffer with sciatica intermittently (but usually if I've done a lot of lifting). Today (7dp5dt) I've had more sharp pains rather than cramps 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hi all

I just wanted to get insight into different types of testing for FET. A few have been mentioned to me by my clinic as optional before a FET. These were:
Emma & Alice
ERA
NK cells test
hysteroscopy
Dummy transfer & saline 3ds scan.

I asked which might be most beneficial and they did say the dummy transfer & saline 3ds scan to make sure that there is no scarring ( I had a c section 2 years ago) and no fibroids/polyps. I did this one earlier this week and all was fine so that’s a relief. They also said I might want to consider the Emma and Alice test. I am doing research on this. I understand they want to rule out any glitches as we only have 2 euploid embryos but I just dont want to do unnecessary and invasive tests.

I have already decided not to do the ERA based on recent research and I don’t see why I need a hysteroscopy as there is nothing of concern yet and I won’t bother with NK cells as I will be on steroids for thyroid antibodies anyway. This is my first ever transfer so any insight would be appreciated.

kerrym87 · 10/05/2024 15:08

@Faith2024 I had Emma and Alice....for me it was to reassure that there wasn't an underlying low level infection in uterus (I have endo and apparently they can occur together for alot of people with endo). I also found that I had very little bad bacteria in my vaginal and uterine environments but my lcatobacillus -higher levels reduce risk of miscarriage, preterm birth, something to do with reducing high blood pressure/pre eclampsia.
I was advised to have vaginal probiotics each day for a week then one a week. It was canesflor but now its not available! Still looking for an alternative but i have a little stash!

Faith2024 · 10/05/2024 21:33

@kerrym87 thank you for sharing your experience. Appreciate it.

Fruitypineapple · 11/05/2024 08:15

Congratulations everyone on their BFP🙌🏼🎉

@Natty2 AF is suppose to turn up today. I’m not too hopeful though as I don’t feel anything.

Hope everyone’s doing okay x

kirstysmbc · 11/05/2024 18:29

@Fruitypineapple Any sign of AF today? Mine has been late in every cycle of IVF I've done!

I'm a week into my progynova now and luckily not feeling any side effects. Hopefully that doesn't mean it's not working...

I hope everyone else is doing well

Fruitypineapple · 11/05/2024 19:20

@kirstysmbc She still hasn’t arrived, but I do feel slightly crampy this evening so fingers crossed she’s on her way.
When I did my fresh transfer and was on the meds (I can’t remember exactly what I was on) I didn’t have a single side effect throughout the entire process. X

LouP87 · 12/05/2024 10:58

Has anyone else had light spotting since their BFP or in previous experience?

I had brown spotting a few days ago which didn’t initially concern me and brown = old. But this morning I’m getting light pink/pink spotting when I go to the loo, and it’s sent me into a spiral of anxiety. This is the first time we have ever had a positive test, I’m so scared it’s going to be taken away!

Fruitypineapple · 13/05/2024 09:58

@kirstysmbc How are you feeling?
AF turned up 2 days late, my lining scan has been booked for next Wednesday.
@LouP87 Hope you’re okay🩷

kirstysmbc · 13/05/2024 10:07

@Fruitypineapple Glad AF finally turned up, it's so frustrating when it's late! I'm good thanks, still no side effects which I should be pleased about. I have my lining scan on Wednesday and once I'm on progesterone there will be plenty of side effects to worry about!!

@LouP87 I has brown spotting fairly regularly with my daughter but never turned pink. Are you using an applicator for progesterone? That can irritate the cervix apparently. I hope you're ok and the spotting has stopped now

LouP87 · 13/05/2024 10:44

Spotting still going on unfortunately, and still pink.

I swapped to the back way for the progesterone after the brown spotting happened to rule that out. The anxiety is real…I would have rathered an outright negative result than everyday worry like this.

Natty2 · 13/05/2024 13:38

@LouP87 have you managed to speak to the clinic about the spotting today? Keeping fingers crossed that all is ok.

@kirstysmbc @Fruitypineapple good luck with your scans next week! I'm on cd37 but 12dpo, so hoping my AF will arrive very soon so I can get going too!

TorrentialHighSeas · 13/05/2024 14:31

@LouP87 i had some light pink spotting with my son. I believe that a little bit is ok in early pregnancy. It’s hard to tell, it could go either way. I hope that it’s all ok. Do speak to your clinic though if you’re feeling unsure.

Kfish56 · 14/05/2024 12:17

Hi all, I hope you don’t mind me joining.
I'm 5dp5dt and this is my second FET, first one ended in a negative test.
I had a lot of cramping and twinges for the first 4 days and had sensitive breasts and now today everything has disappeared and I just feel slightly periody!! I’m so convinced it hadn’t worked and I’m feeling so disheartened!!

Loute02 · 14/05/2024 13:52

Hi @Kfish56 and welcome! I'm same as you 5dp5dt 😊 do you take any medication? Im on progynova and progesterone (lubion injections and utrogestan pessaries). I also have cramping but I've read that common side effects of progesterone can be uterine spasms so I'm praying this is just it! Progesterone can also give you a low mood. But there is still hope ! It is so hard to not try to spot every symptom we have and the 2ww seems so long 🫣 hopefully it is just all good signs and we have to try to stay positive as long as possible.

Kfish56 · 14/05/2024 14:07

aww how nice that we are on the same timeline!! I am taking Cyclogest 3 times a day and estradiol 3 times a day.
I just don’t feel pregnant at all, not that I know what it feels like 😂
I stupidly just did a test and it couldn’t have been anymore negative!!
