Welcome to anyone who wants to join me for their May FET! My transfer date is actually 30/04 but the TWW and test day will be in May so thought I’d see if I could find some buddies! The April thread is very full so thought it would be good to start fresh!

Look forward to chatting to you all through the madness and hearing your insights😀

@DippyDuck19 500ml sounds about right and the same as what I've done in recent transfers and been told it's fine. I've done transfers where I've gone ott on water and it's so uncomfortable!

StillTTC7 · 26/04/2024 18:34

@DippyDuck19 that sounds like a good baseline scan to me. We’re on same protocol!

@kirstysmbc that is quite the cocktail! Have you done a cycle with the same meds before or is anything slightly different?

@Natty2 I’m only on day 2 so I’m guessing by sun/mon I will start to feel the effects, but maybe not this time as no stims so who knows how they react! Great news re natural cycle! How many times will you test for ovulation? Once or more a day?

@Sherr33 I found the prostap injection grand, maybe a bit of a sting at the site but that was it! And time difference should only be an hour so shouldn’t really make any difference - just enjoy some sun for all of us 😀

@DippyDuck19 my last transfer was at 0900 ish, and on the way up the road (about an hour in the car) and while I was waiting I drank about 500ml. I didn’t feel full but when the dr was doing the transfer he commented on the nicely filled bladder so don’t be busting yourself to down too much!

Hi everyone - joining in this convo and will try to keep up with everyone.

I have a DS, 2 years old, from a fresh IVF cycle after 3 failed IUIs. I have two frozen embryos.

im day 3 of my cycle, had baseline scan today. Lining looks good and I’ve started Progynova.

could it be possible that Progynova makes me irritable and grumpy? I do seem to be affected by hormones. But I was a real dick this afternoon.

My transfer will be some time after 13 May.

kirstysmbc · 26/04/2024 12:56

@StillTTC7 I'm doing a medicated short protocol cycle - 5 days of fyremadel and 6mg of progynova from day 2. Then I'll be on utrogestan and lubion progesterone support plus clexane and aspirin. A real cocktail!!

I am just waiting for day 1 to start my meds

What is fyremadel for if you don’t mind me asking?
also what is clexane for?

also curious about the different things different clinics do!

kirstysmbc · 26/04/2024 22:04

@StillTTC7 It's the same protocol I was on for the donated embryo cycle which resulted in a chemical. My clinic is in Portugal so not sure if they sure just more likely to throw more meds at it. Luckily I've not had too many side effects, but the bruising from the clexane is something else.

@TorrentialHighSeas Welcome and good luck. Fyremadel is the same as cetrotide if you've heard of that. It suppresses ovulation. High levels of oestrogen is usually enough, but this just makes sure. And clexane is to prevent blood clots and improve blood flow. It’s quite common to use in IVF cycles.

StillTTC7 · 26/04/2024 23:24

@kirstysmbc at least you have prior knowledge of what to expect, that must make it a bit easier. Interesting re Portugal clinic, would definitely look in to going abroad as apparently they are much more advanced than NI / UK. Sorry you’re getting bad bruises, sounds grim 😣

Welcome @TorrentialHighSeas! Amazing news on your fresh cycle, and 2 embryos! Sorry you’re having side effects - I’ve only had nausea from progynova. Though cyclogest sends me totally loopy!

OP posts:
TorrentialHighSeas · 27/04/2024 09:16

@kirstysmbc ah yes that makes sense on fyremadel. I don’t ovulate much so am guessing oestrogen will be enough for me!

@StillTTC7 when I stopped taking cyclogest after my first IUI cycle I had a massive dip in mood and thought of self-harm. I have a mood disorder so the fluctuations in hormones is a doozy! But at least I know it’s a possibility so I monitor it super closely!

Hi everyone :) Could I please join this thread?
I’m doing a Natural cycle frozen embryo transfer in May. I’ve got my baseline scan booked for the 7th May then I’ll be awaiting for AF to arrive around the 11th May hopefully to start. If anyone would like to know any of my background with ICSI please ask away.

@kirstysmbc Thank you for letting me know about this thread :)

@TorrentialHighSeas aww sorry you felt so terrible coming off cyclogest, as if we don’t have enough to go through as it is. Good that you know how to monitor it though!

Hi @Fruitypineapple, of course! The more the merrier 😀good luck for your scan, what is it they’re looking for there? I only got scanned after my cycle so just curious! How did your egg collection go?

OP posts:
Fruitypineapple · 27/04/2024 20:56

@StillTTC7 Thank you :) I’m actually not too sure what they’re looking on the 7th, I assume they’re just making sure everything is good go for the cycle.
I had my egg collection in September 2022 and had a fresh transfer which we were incredibly lucky with and got our little boy, he was a 5AA. I had two little embryos frozen, they are graded 5AB & 5BB. I had 20 egg retrieved, 14 were mature, 7 fertilised and 3 made it to day 5.

StillTTC7 · 27/04/2024 22:59

@Fruitypineapple oh wow that is amazing news! I really love hearing success stories first hand because it gives hope that it can work ☺️ that’s some pretty good results - and excellent having 2 frozen. Here’s hoping this one sticks for you as well 🤞🏻

@Fruitypineapple so nice to hear your first cycle was successful.
I've had 2 ECs this year both fresh cancelled, once due to high progesterone and second due to risk of ohss. I'm hoping to do a natural cycle too so I'll be interested to hear how you get on!

@StillTTC7 hope you are feeling ok. Not long now until transfer day!

I'm meant to test twice a day from day 8 of my cycle and they will scan me possibly every other day. Sounds likely that I may need a trigger shot when the follicle is at the right side.

For now I'm waiting for my period to arrive. It should have been next Sunday but it's day 22 and I still haven't shown signs of ovulation (last EC was late march so body is still adjusting!) hoping it happens this week so I can at least roughly work out when the next period will be and rough transfer

Rainbowsunshine81 · 28/04/2024 08:53

Hi, I'm hopefully having a fet next month, currently on nafarelin spray, but concerned after experiencing symptoms similar to when a period is going to start, hopefully not, according to my clinic one shouldn't start whilst on this spray, but have read different things. Started progynova today, alongside aspirin, progynova was 3 a day, but upping to 4 a day in the hopes it will get rid of some fluid that was seen in the womb, hopefully will be gone by the time I have a second scan on the 8th of May.

Sherr33 · 28/04/2024 12:17

Hi all. I've been feeling all types if ways. I feel scared about starting the tinzaparin injections this time - they are blood thinners. They have been prescribed because I scored enough to put me as a ar risk patient. Im going away aswell during this cycle but now I'm terrified of something happening to me. If I don't take the blood thinners then im worried about the side effects of elleste solo tablets. 😖

StillTTC7 · 28/04/2024 21:04

Hi @Natty2, feeling not too bad thank you! Just getting nervous about the thaw on Tuesday if I’m honest. Only 1 to try 😬

That’s a lot of testing / scanning but I guess it needs to be to get the perfect timing! Trigger shot might take the stress out of pinpointing ovulation as well 🤞🏻

Aw it really messes your cycle up doesn’t it, I was the same. Here’s hoping it comes soon and dates work out well for you. Are you far from your treatment centre?

Hi all, I recognise some of you from the IVF February group (which feels like agesssss ago now!). Hope you don’t mind me joining, the April FET group was getting very big and it’s looking like I’ll be doing my transfer in May!

I’ve got two frozen, failed fresh cycle back in Feb/march and now trying my first FET. Started beginning of April but round got cancelled due to thin lining, despite being on progynova, and patches! Very disappointing to have to start again!

this time I’m doing a natural round - have a day 11 scan on Thursday to check my lining, feel very nervous about it! Then I’m not sure what the procedure is after that, I think they mentioned a trigger but I can’t remember the details.

Im also worried as I haven’t been too healthy, have had a few drinks here and there after finding out about the thin lining, and haven’t been super super healthy food wise. I kind of thought that I needed some normality and having a drink and a takeaway felt like a treat and more normal! Anyway! I’m back to being more healthy now.

Has anyone else had issues with lining?
I’ve got a low AMH of 2 which is why we’re doing IVF, lining was always fine, just too thin on the progynova!

StillTTC7 · 30/04/2024 08:39

@LouP87 good luck for transfer today 🤞🏻🍀

kirstysmbc · 30/04/2024 09:24

Good luck for transfer today @StillTTC7 and @LouP87!

And welcome @Eljane34 Sorry I can't help with lining as I've not had that issue before. I have also not been that healthy recently, but I don't think that will have much impact on the cycle. Like you I'm trying to be a bit healthier now, I've still got a few weeks to go before my transfer, so hoping that's ok 😊

Natty2 · 30/04/2024 10:13

Good luck @StillTTC7 and @LouP87 🤞🤞

LouP87 · 30/04/2024 11:17

Thanks all for the good luck - and good luck to everyone too!

just left the hospital. One of the 6 was good enough to transfer today, but is just behind a full blastocyst. The other 5 are slow growing and look like day 3’s still apparently. They will call tomorrow to update but I’m mentally preparing for them to be no good and discarded.

here’s hoping for this little one to stick!

Sherr33 · 30/04/2024 11:34

How is everyone feeling and I am terribly sorry I don't know where everyone is on their journey. @Eljane34 hiiii I was with you in the Feb group.

Im having my prostrap injection tomorrow. Is there anyone on here who has had this? What am I to expect? (Hate injections)

TorrentialHighSeas · 30/04/2024 12:00

Two transfers today! Good luck @StillTTC7 and @LouP87 !

@Sherr33 what's prostrap for? sorry, i constantly ask these questions about medication because I'm always confused about what is being used for what!

@Eljane34 that's so annoying about the lining. i didn't realise that progynova could make the lining too thin! i hope that your day 11 scan goes well.

A question for everyone: on what day of your cycle are you expecting to have your transfers? I have a scan on Friday and the earliest I can have my transfer is 13 May but I guess it depends on my lining. I also took a really long time for my eggs to mature (my collection was like day 21 or something whereas lots of my friends were going on day 14/15) so am wondering if this will be similar in terms of taking ages.

Sherr33 · 30/04/2024 12:04

Good luck @StillTTC7 @LouP87

@TorrentialHighSeas prostrap i think is to switch everything off. My transfer is 03/06 which would be cycle day 19 for me
