Welcome to anyone who wants to join me for their May FET! My transfer date is actually 30/04 but the TWW and test day will be in May so thought I’d see if I could find some buddies! The April thread is very full so thought it would be good to start fresh!

Look forward to chatting to you all through the madness and hearing your insights😀

@Sherr33 ah thanks for explaining - do you do that before your period starts?

Natty2 · 30/04/2024 13:39

@TorrentialHighSeas I've read that cycle day 18-19 is optimum period to transfer, but I think either side of that is also normal. Good luck for your scan on Friday!

@LouP87 keeping fingers crossed for your little one to stick!

@Sherr33 not familiar with those injections but good luck! I think our transfers might end up being around the same time as I'm finally showing signs of ovulation. Just need period to arrive in 2 weeks and for the natural cycle to work!

kirstysmbc · 30/04/2024 14:11

@TorrentialHighSeas If you are doing a medicated cycle, the cycle day isn't really that relevant s as there is no ovulation and subsequent hormonal effects. What is important is that you take the progesterone for the right number of days before transfer. Mine have been around the 19/20 day mark, but also know people who have had to stay on oestrogen for longer to thicken lining and has successful transfers later in the cycle.

StillTTC7 · 30/04/2024 16:15

Thanks everyone for the luck! Transfer went will this morning, the embryo thawed well and it’s in there for now! Now we wait 😀

That’s great news @StillTTC7 and hope your transfer went well @LouP87.

@TorrentialHighSeas im
not sure what day the transfer will be. I’m having first scan on day 11 (as my cycles are a bit shorter) and then if it’s thick then they said it’s about 7 days after that… but not sure!

Loute02 · 30/04/2024 21:36

Yay @StillTTC7 ! Do you have to take any progesterone? Can I ask what cycle day is it? Hope you'll enjoy some time off. I'll certainly take the transfer day and the next day off and go for some walks

TorrentialHighSeas · 30/04/2024 22:28

@kirstysmbc that makes sense. I will likely start my progesterone after my scan on Friday all being well.

i really think Progynova is doing a number on me. I was weepy today over small things as well as the headaches. I always think that I am very sensitive to hormones but it might be all in my head haha.

TorrentialHighSeas · 30/04/2024 22:28

@Loute02 thats a good idea re taking a few days off. I hope mine falls near a weekend.

have any of you told your work that you’re doing treatment??

Loute02 · 01/05/2024 06:40

@TorrentialHighSeas yes I think having a few days off would be beneficial. The only thing is to also plan something to do to not have my mind being alerted by every tingle in my body 😅
I'm also on progynova and feel mainly bloated ATM. I'll definitely start to get more emotional when I'll start the scans at the end of the week!

Haven't told work about my treatment. For the fresh cycles, I also took a few days off but I just said I had a "small procedure" which allowed me to be off for the eggs collection day and following day.

kirstysmbc · 01/05/2024 07:33

@TorrentialHighSeas I've not told work either. I have called in sick on previous frozen transfer days. It's a bit more challenging when going overseas for transfer as I need a few days, but I don't want to have to tell anyone in case it doesn't work.

Fruitypineapple · 01/05/2024 08:46

@TorrentialHighSeas First time round I told my employer only because I work in a school and getting time off out of school holidays is really hard, otherwise I think I would have kept it to myself. Cut a long story short, my boss decided to announce it in a staff meeting whilst I was off for treatment. I had said I did not want anyone knowing. During my TTW I was asked daily if it had worked, ‘what’s wrong with you, why have you had ivf’ and a load of other unnecessary questions. I’m not telling them this time round.

I'm so sorry you had to go through that, that was an awful thing for your boss to do. And so insensitive of the rest of your colleagues.

TorrentialHighSeas · 01/05/2024 09:12

@Fruitypineapple I am so sorry to hear that. That's awful and such an invasion of your privacy. People can be so insensitive which is the last thing you need through a tough time.

@kirstysmbc you're doing it in Portugal is that right? How does it work for scans?

@Loute02 Yeah, I might try that with the procedure point. When I did my fresh cycle it was during the pandemic so I could work from home anyway. I *only took off the day of egg collection not the other days and it is a massive regret because I needed some extra time.

LouP87 · 01/05/2024 09:44

Thanks for all the good wishes and luck guys ☺️ unfortunately none of the others caught up overnight so we have nothing in the freezer.

putting all my positive energy into this little one now!

Sherr33 · 01/05/2024 14:59

Hi everyone. How are you all doing?

I had my scan (everything looks good) and prostrap injection today.
Next scan in 2 weeks and hopefully will be starting my elleste solo tablets. Waiting for my period between now and then too. I don't know how to feel about my FET. Im not as excited as I was for my fresh cycle...

TorrentialHighSeas · 01/05/2024 16:43

@LouP87 it only takes one fabulous little embryo so I have everything crossed for you. When is test date?

My Progynova rollercoaster continues. I got pulled up on something super minor in work and cried for like an hour solid at 9am 🤣. Literally couldn’t stop. Standing waiting for the train now and on verge of tears, for no reason. What joy haha

StillTTC7 · 02/05/2024 12:39

@Loute02 sorry I have missed the last messages on this! Yes I’m on 3x 400mg cyclogest pessaries a day as well as 3x progynova. Transfer day for me was CD 19, I’m medicated cycle so I think they just bung everyone in on the same day! Yes walking for sure!

@TorrentialHighSeas the progynova is a rollercoaster! Progesterone I find worse 😆

How is everyone getting on?

LouP87 · 02/05/2024 13:16

I don’t know if it’s progynova, progesterone or the cocktail - but I have been absolutely foul with a terrible attitude, or crying for no reason…

would also very much like for my boobs to be removed too, as they’re so painful, with too long to go!

Loute02 · 02/05/2024 14:11

I have the scan to check my lining on Saturday morning. I expect them to tell me to start the progesterone as well. At the moment, with only the progynova I'm fine but I'm not looking forward to take both at the same time 😵‍💫

StillTTC7 · 02/05/2024 14:46

@LouP87 aww hang in there! It will be worth it, and hopefully sooner rather than the alternative ☺️ but you are not alone, take strength that there are loads of us across the country in yo-yo ing for no reason other than a tiny tablet or pessary 😂

@Loute02 roll on Saturday for you! They told me progesterone starts 6 days before your transfer date, so once they have your date they’ll tell you when to start!

@LouP87 hope you're feeling a bit better. I've been feeling terrible last evening and today. I had the prostrap injection and omg I absolutely hate how its making me feel. Yesterday had such terrible palpitations, my head was killing me, super duper tired and hot. Today chest feeling tight, headache still going strong and I have gone from snappy to angry to weepy. I feel so exhausted. Im actually dreading the ellest solo tablets now. 😖 all my worst thoughts are at the fore front of my mind and just feel horrid.

@Sherr33 how’re you feeling now? Hoping things have balanced out a bit for you now your body has had a chance to get used to everything?

I’ve surprised myself with being able to forget a bit about our little embryo. Work was a little busier than usual Weds-Fri so I think that helped. Not too much planned for this long weekend so see how we go!

I doubt anything I can feel are real symptoms at this point (only 4DPT) and all down to meds - very very sore boobs, bloated, lower back pain. Doesn’t seem fair the side effects are all the same!

It is one of the reasons when I had my fresh transfer I didnt think toi much into it. I didnt want to get my hopes up so I just waited for my OTD which was via blood test with my clinic I knew few days before though that it hadn't worked I could feel my period trying to push through. I mean I was gutted none the less but its like you said the symptoms mimic the ones we get due to the medication its just a big mind fudge.

TMI but my vaginal area is still inflamed I think and I can feel things twisting away id say my ovaries or something around there is doing something headaches and just tired.

Loute02 · 04/05/2024 19:52

Had a scan this morning and my lining looks just the way it should 💪 booked transfer day for Thursday (but might be moved to Friday depending on availability) 🥳
Starting the progesterone pessaries today. Glad to only have a short week at work next week.

How is everyone going?
