@Sunflower360 Thank you, I don't know my levels but the nurse said they were fine but I need to take ibuprofen. I will try to talk to someone tomorrow as it is worrying me.

Hopesandsunshine · 04/12/2023 21:28

@Sunflower360 thank you all the best to you and @Doxy21 in your collections keep us updated on how you both get on ☺️

i don’t know much about ibuprofen never heard that advice before @jolly86 but still having three eggs that are good sizes hopefully means good quality too, is your issue quality or fertilisation if you don’t mind me asking? Mine might be both quality and fertilisation although the previous clinic I was with; said my fertilisation with conventional IVF was good.

I’m worrying about my quality because even though I have a fairly good diet I am an emotional eater so when I get stressed I lean to bad things to eat (mostly sugar) but I’ll try and be more strict on myself and hope for the best xx

jolly86 · 04/12/2023 21:36

@Hopesandsunshine my worry is whether I am triggering too late and if that affects the fertilization/ embryo rate. We had ICSI before, fertilization was good but 1 good embryo out of 6 fertilized eggs (other 2 not good to freeze), I did have a baby but nothing to freeze.

Doxy21 · 04/12/2023 21:41

@jolly86 was your successful round with create?

I was told not to take ibuprofen, only paracetamol. Maybe because it causes an effect and that’s why you now have to take it 🤷🏽‍♀️

@Hopesandsunshine I haven’t changed my diet at all 😬 I eat sugar every day

jolly86 · 04/12/2023 21:45

@Doxy21 it was with NHS the free round that worked. Yes it is supposed to prevent early ovulation but I am not comfortable with it.

Hopesandsunshine · 04/12/2023 22:01

@jolly86 that’s good in relation to getting a baby out of that cycle congratulations 🙌🏽 but I see what you’re saying age truthfully I don’t know the answer if you do please let me know, also if you ask about ibuprofen could you let us know on here? I’d be interested to know what the reasoning is…are you also doing natural modified? What’s your AMH / AFC if you don’t mind me asking?

Hopesandsunshine · 04/12/2023 22:05

@Doxy21 ahhh glad I’m not the only one, it’s so hard when you’re going through this isn’t it? and I find great comfort in eating my treats, which recently has been more often than I’d like but it is what it is. We need some joy in all of this!

VenusStarr · 04/12/2023 22:16

Hi everyone. Lots to catch up on.

Hi @jolly86 we were on a thread together when you were doing ivf previously, I'm pleased it worked out... as you can see, mine didn't and we're giving it one last shot.
Are you on cetrotide / fyremadel to stop ovulation? Last time I was given an extra dose of fyremadel as my lh was rising but I wasn't ready for collection. But I lost my largest follicle, they collected 3 eggs in the end instead of 4. They scanned me in theatre - is that an option? I'm really not sure about ibuprofen, are you hoping for a fresh transfer?

@Doxy21 @Sunflower360 good news you're ready for trigger / collection. Hope you're both feeling OK.

Good to hear from you @Hopesandsunshine and that your cyst is gone 🙌 do you think you can start this cycle?

Cycle day 1 today and I'm praying this is the last one. Chased the clinic for my nurse consult, my coordinator is on leave til next week so the call centre are trying to sort for me. Apparently they're waiting for my doctor to confirm... I know it's only early December bit with their closing, then Christmas I'm anxious to get the meds ready as I'll likely be starting on 28 / 29 December. Plus work is hectic so I need to know when I can be home to receive the meds. Fingers crossed I'll get something booked in soon.

Feeling a bit low, thanks to af and 2 pregnancy announcements - both have had similar journeys to me and ivf has worked for them, but also feeling so left behind and like it won't happen for me 😕 ugh, sorry to be on a downer. Hope everyone is ok. Xx

Sunflower360 · 04/12/2023 22:33

@VenusStarr sorry to hear you're feeling rubbish. It is hard hearing news like that and generally socialising when you're going through all of this, so don't be hard on yourself and hopefully your friends will understand, especially if they've been in the same boat. Hopefully, this will be a good cycle for you. I also agree on having everything in place then you can relax

I'm ok, I am apprehensive about this cycle, this is the longest I have stimmed in my entire IVF journey so I'm expecting it to not be a good result but am going with it to see, and to know if I should just stick with natural modfied in the future if we were to have another egg collection - got quality over quantity in my head, and excuse the pun, but I do wonder if my eggs are being over cooked, but time will tell. I am glad we're not transferring now as I would like to give my body a rest before doing so with seeing how this cycle has gone so far plus its been non stop since September, so end of January will be the time for that when I'll hopefully start the FET.

@Hopesandsunshine I plan to get an answer today hopefully, as I still am not comfortable about getting ibuprofen but I have to take it pretty soon. My AMH is 1.9 and afc was like 9 at baseline and balanced in two ovaries but only 1 ovary responded (in 2021 it was 3.5 and I had 7 eggs collected in short protocol), I got 5 big ones in that ovary while left ovary only has 2 small ones which won't yield an egg. I am doing mild ivf. In 2021 I was on 375 and now I am on 225 units. I had stimmed for shorter though.

@VenusStarr of course I remember you , and I am sorry that it didn't work out. It is just a very difficult process and it doesn't get easier second time even though you know more. Have you been with CREATE all along or have you switched clinics? I wish you all the best for this coming cycle.

Hopesandsunshine · 05/12/2023 09:41

@jolly86 your response to IVF has been really good so that’s positive. My AMH is higher but AFC is lower than yours and my response in the long protocols has not been great so I’m hoping natural modified gives me the quality eggs > good quality embryos I’m looking for. Hope you get your answer soon. Did you do anything different diet / supplement wise to get your baby from IVF?

@VenusStarr so glad your here and thank you for your kind words when learning about my mum having early dementia, I took a few weeks out to accept the situation and feel a bit better about it all, she has carers coming in daily so I know there’s more support than before when it was just me and my sister trying to manage everything.

I read your message and just wanted to say you’re not alone in wanting to feel sad and hide from the world when there’s been pregnancy announcements. Take some time to feel how you feel and know that we’re all here to chat if you need to vent. ❤️

@Sunflower360 its difficult when you’ve had good results from natural modified and completely get being concerned but I’m learning to trust the process and your gut instincts so far have been spot on 🥰

jolly86 · 05/12/2023 10:08

@Sunflower360 it was my first cycle that worked but I had been doing strict diet, exercise, supplements etc in the run up to that as was trying to fix infertility initially and then it was preparation to ivf. I did take supplements, Ubiquinolx 400 in addition to usual vit D, folic acid, vitamin E.. these are what I remember. This time I wasn't so strict at all, still took vit D and folic acid but only recently got on the ubiquinol. Plus I am at a lower dose and 2.5 years older. So it will be interesting to compare the two. However, I stimmed for longer so not sure overall dose is lower in the end! I gather you did natural modified before and now doing the mild ivf?

I was told by nurse that my bloods were normal and the LH wasn't concerning at all (4 something), but because of the 25 mm follicle this was a precaution in case it were to ovulate. Still waiting for a consultant to get back, but I did take 1 dose of ibuprofen.

Jennaqua · 05/12/2023 11:23

These insights are really helpful. Wonderful success stories loading up. I have been with ABC>Create since summer. Battling admin, P-Co-ord😥from our summer consultations, and back&forth. I was okay, BMI(25), AFH(23), no thyroid, Rubella immunity ✅, endometrial=13.6, triple layer. Male factor😥They have delayed us till winter; I don't know how my body has responded to the stress and anxiety. 🤦‍♂️We will know in a few weeks and they said, treatment will commence in Jan🤞. Infact; it's a hand crossing emoji I need at this point. The mental stress they put us through before and during treatments is unbelievable for a health professionals. But we are resilient women and will have positive outcomes in the end.

Hopesandsunshine · 05/12/2023 13:29

@jolly86 ahhh that’s handy to know. I was quite strict the first time in relation to exercise but not sure if I was with diet, it was a year ago with another clinic where it was my first time and on the long protocol so who knows?!

It will definitely be interesting to see how you respond a few years later, either way I think your in good hands.

I’m still waiting on the call from the nurse, just hope everything is okay with my hormone levels but trying to prepare myself in case it’s not.

@Jennaqua we are definitely resilient to do this and I hope you start treatment soon, did they say when exactly you can start?

Doxy21 · 05/12/2023 15:34

Does anyone know if create do transfer on Sundays? I will be having a day 3 transfer. If collection is Thursday, that means transfer will be Sunday?

Sunflower360 · 05/12/2023 17:25

@Hopesandsunshine thank you, triggering tonight so will see how this one pans out @jolly86 yep went from nat mod to mild, good experiment if anything @Doxy21 I would like to think they would do a transfer on Sunday for you, could you ask the clinic?

OP posts:
Doxy21 · 05/12/2023 17:30

@Sunflower360 yes I will ask on Thursday but I just wondered if anyone knew

Sunflower360 · 05/12/2023 17:34

@Doxy21 when I asked about collections on a Sunday for this cycle they said unlikely not but that may because they have a bit more control over that in comparison with a transfer

OP posts:
VenusStarr · 05/12/2023 18:44

Glad you found us @Hopesandsunshine ❤️ I hope things are OK with your mum and things are more settled.
Did you hear from the nurse?

@Doxy21 I would think that they will do a Sunday transfer. When I did my first cycle, they called me on day 1 and booked me provisionally for day 3 and that felt like a standard thing. Is it trigger tonight?

@Jennaqua ❤️🙌 I feel so stressed at the moment but I like your thinking.

@jolly86 did you hear from the consultant? Hope all is OK.

@Sunflower360 how are you? How long have you stimmed for? Hope trigger goes well and you can enjoy no more injections. Any news on the hysteroscopy? Hope you can rest now you're not transferring.

I need some help - after lots of stress and missing calls today, finally got hold of someone and we're approved to go ahead. Initially they offered me an appointment early January, but I was on the verge of tears and explained all the delays and she put me on hold and I've got a nurse consult tomorrow!
Can you help me with questions I need to ask please?
We haven't done any consents yet, but drawing a bit of a blank...
We've not had a breakdown of costs yet, so need to confirm that but bonus is that we're paying for ivf and doing icsi pay as we go, just in case we don't need it on the day, so the initial outlay won't be so scary.
If you've got any suggestions for questions, I'd appreciate them 😊 x

Doxy21 · 05/12/2023 18:52

Thanks @VenusStarr - trigger tonight, collection Thursday. We have a day 3 frozen from a previous cycle and we were told if there’s no day 3 from this cycle, that frozen embryo will be transferred so whatever happens we will be having a day 3 transfer. Though hopefully it’s with a 3 day from this round!

Sunflower360 · 05/12/2023 18:55

@VenusStarr that's good news, hope the nurse consultation goes ok. I find those sessions more to do with general queries about the process but perhaps could be worth asking more about the protocol you're on and any differences from your previous cycles?

I'm ok triggering tonight, for collection on Thursday. I have stimmed for 12 days, longest in all my cycles so not sure what to expect, bit worried it may affect my egg quality and fertilisation rate which has been good at both my Create cycles so far. Was zero in my NHS cycle which was a max stims cycle (but no ICSI) hence feeling nervous as it has happened before.

Hysteroscopy Consultation is this weekend, so I'm hoping to have that done after my withdrawal bleed so I can get on with the FET in the new year if I get the green light.

Have you been through a FET? If so what's involved, meds/scans/ timeline wise?

Sunflower360 · 05/12/2023 18:59

@VenusStarr with ICSI pay as you go just be sure to remind them each time at egg collection....I think @VSRCM had this issue if I remember correctly about them almost missing it? We have ICSI in our package, and even then I remind the embryologist when they come round after collection that we are having ICSI, moreso as peace of mind for me that I've done everything possible! Each time they've said 'yes we have that noted' so I probably sound like a nag when I mention it but would rather that than them miss it off!

@Doxy21 that’s so exiting hun and I guess very scary as well. I hope everything will go well for you ❤️

@Ks2023 hope your nurse consultation went ok

Girls I really need your help as don’t know whom else I can ask. I need your opinion. After some thinking today I think I don’t wanna do 3 cycles anymore. I’m not bothered about freezing anything for later day I’m old and my husband even older. We have 1 DS already who is 2 now and he is much work as it is in a good way 🤣 3 cycles still only 1 transfer so regardless we need only 1 good egg. I wanna do now each full cycle separately and transfer after each cycle. I hope for 1 but we have money for 3 if we have to. I guess like this we have more chances with more transfers if we have any eggs. Anyone know how much full cycle cost with ICSI and support package? I calculated from their price list and I think it’s £6111 correct me if I’m wrong?
