Not good news. 1 8cell grade 2, a 5cell grade 4 (had this last time, so know that's a write off) and 1 2cell, grade 4.

We talked about freezing the 8cell but they're recommending pushing day 5. Dh said let's push it, then we'll know. Just waiting for the embryologist to call back

Sunflower360 · 02/03/2024 11:13

@VenusStarr sorry to hear that, and agree it probably is best to know how they do outside the body for as long as possible. If you don't mind me asking, have they indicated what could be causing the challenges you are experiencing?

They haven't said anything, which is really frustrating @Sunflower360

Last time, the Dr just said its my eggs 🤷🏻‍♀️ I think I'm going to ask for icsi next time as its the last one and we've never done it. Maybe them selecting the sperm would be better.

But I want to know why I had 13 follicles, 7 were above 14mm but they didn't get them.
It's just frustrating that they say they specialise in older women, I'm 40 and feel like they've given up on us.

jolly86 · 02/03/2024 12:35

@VenusStarr that s not the outcome you wanted to hear but I don’t think it’s necessarily means egg issue etc. I also had similar outcome with my 3 fertilised eggs, my best one was 11 cell grade 2. I do think I had a very early chemical pregnancy with that round. Create tried to suggest there was an egg issue but I reminded them I did have a successful first round two years ago. So I think it’s just luck really- bad luck in this case. But remember you had 4aa embryos with the cycle where you also had 3 fertilised eggs right? Also again the quality on day 3 doesn’t always indicate the pregnancy outcome,

VenusStarr · 02/03/2024 12:53

Thanks @jolly86 we had a 5AA which was a chemical, a 3AA which was a MMC (healthy baby) then the last 3AA deteriorated after the thaw and was transferred with an early blast / morula which failed to implant.

Not had any blasts since. Maybe the 8 cell will do something but I'm not hopeful and the other 2 I've just written off.

Sunflower360 · 02/03/2024 13:30

@VenusStarr what were your Estradiol levels at trigger? That could indicate how many mature eggs you may have had and then that could be a basis to question further. ICSI could be worth trying next time I think, we did just IVF in the failed NHS cycle (my OH's sperm parameters were all good, morphology slightly less but count and motility made up for it) but since then ICSI has worked well so far

@VenusStarr 8 cell grade 2 is actually really really good. just remembered. They consider grade 1 and 2 have equal chances, and 8 cell is the ideal one. Fingers crossed that one has high chances of a good blastocyst.

Got my LH surge this morning so took Ovitrelle, count down on now until transfer 😬 If I calculate right should be Saturday. Do I start the pessaries tomorrow (not today) as today is the peak surge??

Will have to call the clinic tomorrow about booking into FET as their closed

VenusStarr · 03/03/2024 09:40

I didn't get the level of estradiol @Sunflower360 but they said they were good. Since its our last try, I think I want to just see with icsi.

Thank you @jolly86 I feel like I've just shutdown. Dh and I have barely spoken and I've convinced myself he thinks it's my fault. I just can't allow myself to hope it might be good news tomorrow 😞

@Sunflower360 that's good news. I've only ever been told by the clinic when to trigger so they can schedule the transfer - did they give you a schedule? I remember in my low dose stim FET, I triggered on the Saturday evening, started progesterone on the Monday. Then transfer was the following Saturday. Not long now.

Plantymcplant · 03/03/2024 09:55

@VenusStarr yes I'm doing medicated. Seems ok so far just taking oestrogen tablets. So far not feeling and side effects

Sunflower360 · 03/03/2024 10:09

@VenusStarr I just got told to take the trigger to ensure I ovulate after a surge... didn't get told a time 😳 I took it this morning as soon as I got the positive ovulation test. Not sure if it's different as it's natural FET and I've had no estrogen administered at all? When do pessaries start?

OP posts:
Sunflower360 · 03/03/2024 10:11

@VenusStarr sorry you said about pessaries already... so would I take them from tomorrow (that would be the actual ovulation day so day zero) or Tuesday which is DPO 1?

OP posts:
VenusStarr · 03/03/2024 10:37

Glad it's going OK so far @Plantymcplant

@Sunflower360 I'd start progesterone on Tuesday to ensure you've definitely ovulated. But im sure they'll confirm tomorrow. They usually do transfers after 1ish.
It probably is different for a medicated FET as timings are a bit more precise.

Doxy21 · 03/03/2024 13:37

Do you have a transfer date @Plantymcplant?

Doxy21 · 03/03/2024 13:40

I tried a new gym this week and in 2 diff classes they’ve done pelvic floor exercises and as I was leaving there was a hypnobirthing class that only happens every few months. I’m going to take these a good omens, and be positive and manifest

Sunflower360 · 04/03/2024 10:06

@Doxy21 good to be positive!

@VenusStarr hope your update goes ok today

OP posts:
VenusStarr · 04/03/2024 10:54

Still in limbo, its an early blast, the embryologist said it was compacting. Not entirely sure the other 2 haven't arrested.
Final update tomorrow.

Did you speak to the clinic @Sunflower360 ?

Sunflower360 · 04/03/2024 10:58

@VenusStarr fingers crossed for your update tomorrow, it's good its compacting. I am having a nightmare trying to get in touch with the clinic....still waiting on a call back, chased several times already and got an email back saying they will call asap 🙄 Do you know if there is a certain timeslot I should have for the transfer, given I surged early yesterday morning? Not sure if it was like EC where it's a certain optimial window

OP posts:
Sunflower360 · 04/03/2024 11:53

Had a call back, FET is on Saturday... will get a call on Weds or Thurs to talk it through and confirm details... @VenusStarr do you know what that call entails? Just wanted to have questions ready but not sure what to ask. I got advised to start pessaries asap today

OP posts:
Sunflower360 · 04/03/2024 11:54

@Doxy21 have you had your call with the embryologist?

OP posts:
Doxy21 · 04/03/2024 11:58

@Sunflower360 my embryos are frozen and one will be thawed tomorrow and the other on Thursday

Sunflower360 · 04/03/2024 11:59

@Doxy21 ah ok that's good. Do you have a time slot?

OP posts:
VenusStarr · 04/03/2024 12:32

Good you've heard back @Sunflower360 I remember a call from the embryologist. If you want a picture, ask when they call and they'll make a note for you. I think its probably verbal consent as well.

With filling your bladder, I found drinking 2 pints about an hour before I needed to leave, go for a wee, then little sips on the drive was enough. You don't need to be full to bursting. In fact the first time I still had to empty some, which is horrible as you just want to release it all!

Doxy21 · 04/03/2024 12:37

@Sunflower360 no they won’t give you a time slot til the day before and then they’ll call in morning if embryos haven’t survived the thaw

Sunflower360 · 05/03/2024 09:22

@VenusStarr hope your Embryology update goes ok.

I'm testing out my trigger at the moment....not sure if anyone has done that before? I mainly wanted to be able to see if the emrbyo takes at all i.e. chemical. From my perspective its still information, of course would want it to take and to take completely for a pregnanacy but after the last chemical I wanted to see if that happens again and would rather know!
