Not today! @Sunflower360 just as its getting closer. Especially if you miss your positive opk. Sorry to have panicked you. I would think if you have say an 18mm follicle, they might measure your lh and might trigger you or just wait for natural ovulation depending on your bloods. Or if your lining is a bit thinner than 8mm, they may delay your ovulation to give your lining chance to thicken.

Sunflower360 · 27/02/2024 10:14

@VenusStarr ah ok thank you for letting me know!

Thank you @Plantymcplant @jolly86 it's a bit weird to take ibuprofen. Hope it works.

Thank you @Jennaqua hope you're OK

VenusStarr · 27/02/2024 10:16

@Sunflower360 😊

jolly86 · 27/02/2024 13:12

@VenusStarr good luck xx yes i also felt very worried about ibuprofen, it should be ok

Doxy21 · 27/02/2024 18:34

Did anyone else just get a really weird email from create…?

VenusStarr · 27/02/2024 18:52

Not had anything @Doxy21 what did it say?

Doxy21 · 27/02/2024 22:18

This is to inform you that we have received a notification from Cooper Surgical to ourselves and other clinics on 19-02-2024 about one of their products.
Cooper Surgical are manufacturers of IVF products including a sperm wash solution(media). They wrote to us, and other clinics, to inform us that certain batches of this solution have been found to have lower levels than expected of a supplementary compound, sodium pyruvate. This is not a critical component of this media; all of the critical components such as glucose were normal.
We checked our laboratory data and can reassure you that there were no negative effects on our performance indicators; our pregnancy rates also remain good. We therefore believe that there is no cause for concern; we are simply informing you in the interests of openness and as part of our duty of care to yourselves.

Not at all worrying during an already stressful process.

VenusStarr · 28/02/2024 07:07

Oh wow @Doxy21 that is worrying. I've not had anything still.
It's good they're being open and transparent but also adds to the worry and stress.
I'd there anything more you need to do? Which clinic are you with? X

Sunflower360 · 28/02/2024 07:10

@Doxy21 just googled and would appear there was a recall of that product.

www.lieffcabraser.com/injury/coopersurgical/#:~:text=In%20December%202023%2C%20CooperSurgical%20issued,prior%20to%20the%20blastocyst%20stage.%E2%80%9D

I would imagine Create are doing some due diligence and trying to be as transparent as possible to update on their position regarding this, probably in case people notice the recall and start asking, but nonetheless appreciate it is concerning.

www.peifferwolf.com/2-couples-sue-coopersurgical-after-embryo-solution-recall/

Would appear the culture allegedly damaged the embryos from developing. Interesting the email hasn't been sent by the other Create clinics? @Doxy21 you're in London aren't you? @VenusStarr have you had anything from Birmingham? I haven't

OP posts:
Doxy21 · 28/02/2024 07:41

@Sunflower360 that appears to be an embryo culture media whereas this is about sperm wash.

I’m with St Paul’s. Maybe it was only sent to affected people as it seems no one else got it.

Husband says it’s nothing to worry about but it’s just as I was starting to feel positive that this transfer will work. Annoying!

Plantymcplant · 28/02/2024 08:05

@Doxy21 I got it too. This is the recall notice from the company mhra-gov.filecamp.com/s/d/5UmFA8yp5kJr4pih

www.gov.uk/drug-device-alerts/field-safety-notices-19-to-23-february-2024

Doxy21 · 28/02/2024 08:43

Thanks @Plantymcplant im assuming in my case it was ok as any embryos I had did fertilise (I think - i can’t remember)

VenusStarr · 28/02/2024 08:45

@Doxy21 @Plantymcplant ❤️❤️❤️ I read it as though it wouldn't have impacted on outcomes but it is horrible to get an unexpected email like that. Hope you're both OK.

Yeh, I'm Birmingham @Sunflower360 and not had anything.

Setting off for the clinic in about half an hour 😬 been feeling very anxious.

Doxy21 · 28/02/2024 09:03

Good luck @VenusStarr!

Sunflower360 · 28/02/2024 13:59

@VenusStarr hope EC goes ok @Doxy21 hope your FET scan goes ok

OP posts:
Doxy21 · 28/02/2024 15:15

Thanks @Sunflower360 all good - transfer next Thurs

Sunflower360 · 28/02/2024 15:47

@Doxy21 that is good, have you had your LH surge? What was your follicle and lining? Assuming it was CD scan 10 for you?

OP posts:
Doxy21 · 28/02/2024 16:55

@Sunflower360 its medicated frozen transfer so no lh monitoring or follicles, just womb lining

Sunflower360 · 28/02/2024 16:56

@Doxy21 ah ok, what was your lining? I'm tempted to maybe just do medicated next time if this doesn't work...its all a bit uncertain with natural

OP posts:
Doxy21 · 28/02/2024 17:15

@Sunflower360 it was 8.5mm I think - anything above 7 means good to go. Getting a progesterone blood test 3 days before to see if I need to add more progesterone support and I will be taking Prednisolone too.

VenusStarr · 28/02/2024 17:36

Thank you @Sunflower360 @Doxy21 got 5 eggs. Am a bit deflated to be honest, but I didn't ovulate early, so that's good. Just hoping that we get some fertilise. We've never had more than 3 fertilised in any round, so really hoping it's not less than 3.
It all feels like a lot of effort.

Good news @Doxy21 🤞 x

Sunflower360 · 28/02/2024 17:52

@VenusStarr 5 is still a good number, and if you get an embryo or 2 then it's a really good round. Only takes one after all

OP posts:
Doxy21 · 28/02/2024 18:34

@VenusStarr 5 is a great number!
