@VenusStarr 🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡👌congrats. Way to go🤗
@Doxy21 Got the email about the sperm wash but knew it was not a useful info to my treatment🙂Guess it was an all random brief for everyone.🤷‍♀️
The gynae at Oxford said they can't go on with my treatment unless I speak to a hysteroscopic doctor before I make an informed decision.🤦‍♂️Guess my personal choice is not an option at all. Apparently, I'll lose another cycle going by the telephony schedule.

I came across this interesting article on pgta testing. I thought you might find it interesting @Sunflower360 as you were worried about not testing https://www.cell.com/trends/molecular-medicine/fulltext/S1471-4914(20)30313-0?_returnURL=https%3A%2F%2Flinkinghub.elsevier.com%2Fretrieve%2Fpii%2FS1471491420303130%3Fshowall%3Dtrue&fbclid=IwAR0VT51D40nWmp4Y_C1jW_xesnv1DJVeRrbprJlNNDyZou1FBGlEQ5W9Ye4#b0025 hope the link works.

Thanks all for being kind. I'm not sure why I've gone into negative mode about this cycle, maybe self-preservation. Dh's alarm woke me up and now I'm just wide awake thinking about what's going on in that petri dish 😕

Sunflower360 · 29/02/2024 07:24

@VenusStarr thanks for sharing the link. Hope your fertilisation update goes ok this morning, it's hard not to worry, but 5 is a good number so fingers crossed

Morning everyone, had a BFP this morning at 9dp5dt. So happy and hoping all goes smoothly from here! Going into the clinic this morning for my blood test.

Plantymcplant · 29/02/2024 08:35

@muddlingthrou congratulations!!!!!

VenusStarr · 29/02/2024 10:59

Finally had a call, never had a day 1 this late. 3 fertilised. Never had more than 3 fertilise no matter how many eggs.

Really not feeling hopeful, they're pushing to day 5 this time. I've already got my Dr review booked next week. Kind of wish I wasn't getting a day 3 update, just tell me when it's over.

gemso2020 · 29/02/2024 11:57

@muddlingthrou That's wonderful, congratulations 😍

@VenusStarr Really sorry you are feeling so discouraged, especially when you are potentially having good results! I totally understand these update days are hard though, and if you can just try and distract yourself as much as possible. Easier said than done I know! As others have said, it only takes one so keep the faith!

jolly86 · 29/02/2024 13:26

@muddlingthrou huge congratulations!

@VenusStarr no reason to be discouraged! 3 fertilized is a good number and when you had 3 fertilized eggs in the past you did get good embryos but I know the stress of waiting in this period of uncertainty.

Sunflower360 · 29/02/2024 14:01

@VenusStarr 3 is still good, appreciate it is hard but try and keep positive if possible. Hopefully they can learn more from this cycle for the next round

@muddlingthrou congratulations! If you don't mind me asking, and sorry as I'm sure you've already said but what are your circumstances? Journey so far etc, gives us all some hope as we've not seen many positive tests in this group as yet!

@Plantymcplant@gemso2020@jolly86@Sunflower360 - thank you all. Hoping you'll be joining me soon!

@Sunflower360 - sure, happy to answer any questions. This is my second go-round on fertility treatment, all with Create Wimbledon. I was diagnosed with diminished ovarian reserve and my husband with poor sperm motility, morphology and count. In 2021, I went through 3x egg collections back-to-back at Create's recommendation, and ended up with 7x embryos of wildly varying quality. We were lucky enough to have our DD through a fresh transfer back then.

At the beginning of Feb, I started taking meds for a medicated FET cycle in the hopes of conceiving DC2. My lining was measured as 9.8mm on Day 10. They thawed our best Day 3 embryo and cultured it to Day 5 when it was graded 4AA. We had our transfer on 19th Feb and OTD is today.

For me, Create's focus on quality over quantity has paid off. I was very downhearted after each of my egg collections as I came out with 3 eggs, 6 eggs then 3 eggs, but we were fortunate enough to get some good embryos out of the process. If I've left anything out, feel free to ask!

Sunflower360 · 29/02/2024 15:18

@muddlingthrou thanks for sharing! What is your age when you had the EC? Also was there a reason why they didn't used the day 5's frozen first before thawing the day 3?

OP posts:
muddlingthrou · 29/02/2024 15:27

@Sunflower360 - I was 33 when I had the ECs. But you wouldn't know that from my ovarian reserve! Our initial constultations were pretty harrowing as they said our odds of success were very low. I know we are extremely lucky to have got this far.

Re the embryo thawing: we only had one day 5 embryo out of six, and it was 4CC. So I think they wanted to see if one of our day 3 embryos could do better than that - and they were right! Our day 5 was a back up if the day 3 embryo didn't survive the thawing/stopped developing.

Doxy21 · 29/02/2024 15:53

@muddlingthrou thats amazing! Congratulations!!!

@VenusStarr i still think 3 is a great number!

Sunflower360 · 29/02/2024 16:18

@muddlingthrou that is great news

@Doxy21 do you know the details of your transfer? What embryos are you transferring?

OP posts:
Doxy21 · 29/02/2024 16:51

@Sunflower360 i only have 2 embryos - a day 3 that will be taken to day 5 and if it survives it will be transferred with my day 6. Transfer on Thursday.

Plantymcplant · 01/03/2024 11:29

I was five days late due to my cycle being messed up due to egg collection but I am excited that it is day 1 of my FET cycle. Trying to keep optimistic for this one!

Plantymcplant · 01/03/2024 11:32

@VenusStarr I'm sorry you are feeling not great about the phone call. I found the calls really hard too as each one had less numbers

Sunflower360 · 01/03/2024 13:35

Update from me...follicle is now 15mm and lining 7mm, still waiting on surge too. With any luck it happens on Sunday then I can transfer on Saturday but will see what happens...if not will likely go into the following week. I'm also having Ovitrelle Trigger when I surge to help things along, not sure if anyones had that during a natural FET?

OP posts:
VenusStarr · 01/03/2024 17:45

I'm sorry you were late @Plantymcplant but glad to hear you're able to get started on your FET now. Are you doing medicated?
Thanks for your kind words, I've been busy all day so not thought about it til now. Have decided to go to zumba in the morning to keep busy, otherwise I'll just be phone watching.

That's good news @Sunflower360 I think if you're having a trigger, I think they schedule transfer for 7 days after.

I've been thinking about natural modified and whether I should try that? I can't remember who's tried natural modified here?
I've got my Dr review next week so going to see what he thinks.

Sunflower360 · 01/03/2024 18:08

@VenusStarr I had natural modified twice and then mild- first cycle got 5 eggs that led to 2 embryos frozen (one is a day 3 as it was the first cycle and the second got 2 eggs and one day 5 frozen). I think it could be worth you trying, if the result is 2 or 3 eggsthat fertilise each time then it really is a case of focusing of quality over quantity. Having done a max stims cycle myself which led to failed fertilisation (NHS at another hospital, not Create) I have to say I am an advocate for gentler IVF where its appropriate as our fertilisation rate improved massively since that cycle

OP posts:
VenusStarr · 01/03/2024 19:03

Thank you @Sunflower360 do you start later, is it day 5? What qas your protocol?

Sunflower360 · 01/03/2024 21:29

@VenusStarr yes stims start on day 5 usually, but in both of them I started slightly later as it was always a slow start for me, but the idea is very much letting the protocol be led by the lead follicle-the aim is very much 1 or 2 eggs with the meds, anything else is a bonus depending on how you respond, as I discovered

OP posts:
Sunflower360 · 02/03/2024 09:15

@VenusStarr hope your day 3 call goes ok today

OP posts:
VenusStarr · 02/03/2024 09:15

I'm still unsure about it @Sunflower360 in natural cycles I ovulate on cd10/11 so by day 5 is it too late and then it's not really giving me any advantage over a natural cycle.

VenusStarr · 02/03/2024 09:16

We posted at exactly the same time @Sunflower360 thank you.
