@VenusStarr best of luck it started stressfully but hopefully it will turn out better :)

Plantymcplant · 05/02/2024 15:36

Has anyone had any issues with getting hold of create recently? We had our call after our failed fresh transfer and then emailed a week ago to ask to do the frozen transfer and haven't had any replies. We have emailed our coordinator and the general email account

Doxy21 · 05/02/2024 19:05

@Plantymcplant ours has generally been ok recently but there have been phases of radio silence! They are usually quite good if you call them, they can’t help but it prompts a response by email

Sunflower360 · 11/02/2024 09:06

How's everyone doing? I'm waiting for AF to start FET cycle, decided to do natural with a trigger shot

OP posts:
Doxy21 · 11/02/2024 09:21

Is AF imminent @Sunflower360 we are waiting for next cycle too so we can do a double (hopefully both thaw and the day 3 becomes a day 5) medicated frozen transfer. We chose medicated as I’ve had a frozen transfer elsewhere before and my womb lining took a while due to low estrogen so trying to tackle that straight away. Cycle won’t start til week of 19th so getting in a couple of spa breaks before then! Currently chilling in the loveliest spa. Hope everyone is doing well!

Sunflower360 · 11/02/2024 09:42

@Doxy21 that's good, I'm not sure how mine will work out as I've not done a FET before. Dr thought it best to try natural first before medicated so hopefully Lining abs estrogen will be ok. Hope you're enjoying the spa break!

Hey, I'm day 7 of the estrogen priming. I'm taking melatonin as well but nor sure it's helping me sleep better, didn't have any deep sleep and spent a lot of the night in REM sleep last night, according to my fitbit. But will persevere as its supposed to help egg quality. Af should be due on Thursday. Feel pretty numb about starting.

We might be on a similar timeline @Sunflower360

We've booked a break after this cycle @Doxy21 that's keeping me going... just a small matter of an ivf cycle before 🫠

@jolly86 did you say you were looking abroad, how's that going?

Did you get hold of them @Plantymcplant ?

Hope everyone is doing ok? ❤️

Doxy21 · 11/02/2024 10:31

Sorry, I didn’t put a question mark on my post @Sunflower360 - is your cycle due to start imminently?

@VenusStarr i am all for booking breaks to keep going! Much needed as ivf is so stressful!

VenusStarr · 11/02/2024 10:34

@Doxy21 definitely! We've ended up with 2 weeks off, away the first week, back for 2 days then another 2 night break for dh's birthday. We've got a couple of gigs that week too. Its nice to have things to look forward to.

Sunflower360 · 11/02/2024 12:00

@VenusStarr that is good to have things to look forward to, helps with it all I think. Fingers crossed for your cycle, when is your next scan?

@Doxy21 in a weeks time so still a little while left. I tracked my ovulation this month so hopefully should be on time. I do only get 1 static smiley and then a solid one with the clear blue ovulation tests so I'm hoping my estrogen levels are ok as that is what the static Smiley picks up which I only get 1 day of

OP posts:
VenusStarr · 11/02/2024 12:27

Thanks @Sunflower360 I'm predicting about 20/21 for the first scan. Just hope this new protocol helps.

No idea what's got into me, but just suddenly had a burst of motivation and have been ruthlessly sorting my clothes and have about 3 charity bags full. Still got more to do, but feels good to declutter and stop hanging on to old things

gemso2020 · 12/02/2024 13:32

Hi ladies,

@VenusStarr I hope this next cycle goes well, and it starts well so hopefully you can relax a bit. I'm on loads of supplements but haven't looked at melatonin, will read about that :)

@Sunflower360 Glad you finally progressing with your FET 💪

@Doxy21 Sounds lovely, enjoy!

I had my second egg collection last week, 2 eggs, but unfortunately heard yesterday on Day 6 that neither made it to the blastocyst stage. We have one cycle left, and I can't see how financially we'll be able to continue after that so really starting to consider donor egg now for this last cycle. I was hoping we'd have something to freeze this cycle, but c'est la vie. Either way might have a month off, as it's my 40th next month, would be nice to have a few days away!

Plantymcplant · 14/02/2024 11:04

@VenusStarr I did eventually it's just feels a lot to have to constantly chase them. We are going to try the frozen transfer and again due to the delays it's going to be really tight to see if the medication and consents can be done before the start of my next cycle

jolly86 · 14/02/2024 11:20

@Plantymcplant I have been chasing for 2 months to get my medical records. As soon as they know you're no longer paying, there is no more help on anything

VenusStarr · 14/02/2024 17:57

@gemso2020 I'm really sorry ❤️ its really devastating to not get a blast. How would it work doing donor eggs for your next cycle?
I'm hope you're doing ok as you can be and I hope you can have a nice break.

@Plantymcplant I'm sorry you've not got clarity on doing your FET, it's very frustrating 😕 it's not ideal but you might be able to pick up meds at the clinic?

I waited months for my notes @jolly86 but it turned out they'd sent a zip file and it was in my spam. But I had to have it resent as it had expired. So worth checking. To be honest, there was nothing in there that I didn't already know, was expecting (hoping) for a bit more.

I think af is due tomorrow, it's been 2 weeks since my positive opk. Its 10 days on estrogen priming today. I messaged my coordinator to ask if my period doesn't come (doesn't feel imminent but def not achance of pregnancy) should I carry on with the estrogen and had no reply 🫠 just going to stop from today as they said take it for 7-10 days.
Feel completely indifferent about starting again.

Hope everyone is ok x

Doxy21 · 14/02/2024 21:01

So sorry to hear that @gemso2020

sounds like you’re also having tough times @Plantymcplant and @VenusStarr

i really hope someone has some positive news soon.

happy V day all!

Jennaqua · 14/02/2024 21:57

If I may ask, has anyone being pregnant in this group? Maybe I missed the memo thread.
I am very sorry for what you are going through @VenusStarr @gemso2020 @Plantymcplant
I had cause to query my PC today for their incompetence, miscommunication and treating everyone the same lying that they give personalised plan. Delay upon delay, my career break is over and they have delayed us till now...not my fault as clients but their system stalls for no reason. Chatgpt and YouTube has given me more knowledge of IVF than what I pay huge money for. Egg collection took almost 8 months, transfer has started to stall again. All I keep hearing is sorry sorry. Can't refer my friends or family because its so stressful with no support regarding what we are going through and time is of the essence for such a service. Just listened to the news today embryos/egg lost due to storage flaw in a clinic in London. It's so 😔.
I have an FET meeting with the doctor tomorrow, hopefully I have a sheet full of questions to clarify. Enough is enough.

Sunflower360 · 14/02/2024 22:58

@VenusStarr @Plantymcplant @Jennaqua sounds like you've all struggled with communication. Not good at all

OP posts:
Plantymcplant · 15/02/2024 08:41

@Jennaqua 8months waiting for egg collection! That sounds really stressful. Why did they make you wait so long ?

Doxy21 · 15/02/2024 10:13

@Jennaqua sonething has definitely gone wrong there. I joined create and had an egg collection the next month and then had 3 over consecutive months.

i think 2 people have been pregnant but naturally on not via ivf.

i have been with 2 clinics now and they both seem much the same (the other much more expensive and better ranked) but I haven’t had the delays you’ve experienced.

I had to argue for my plan to be a bit more personalised for collection. For transfer I feel mine is personalised as they’ve taken into account that I have low estrogen so I’m having extra meds and blood tests.

but at the end of the day I would recommend neither clinic as I don’t have a baby.

create however was the only one that let me pay in instalments- although Ivi now does too. So it’s the only affordable options. For 2 collections and no transfer at my previous clinic was £21k. Here for 3 and transfer was around £16k and in instalments.

Jennaqua · 15/02/2024 10:30

Ladies, thanks for the responses. It was a male factor from the onset and we needed to do SSR, that took almost 3 months I had to contact the urologist PA myself via email. mMR 2months else they wouldn't go ahead with it, hence I wasn't vaccinated. And there comes Xmas; with no SSR, my partner had a heart attack and with their delay comes uncertainty. I was actually told I may not have eggs on the single cycle, I was like seriously...🤦‍♂️. The emotional/psychological torture is just out of this world. I said am a healthy female, I will.
They smile at you but it's just fake. And it plays out from their actions and service delivery.
Here we are in 2024, no transfer🤷‍♀️
I had to call the patience coordinator reiterating what I have been through since June 2023. I need to speak to a manager before she gave me a listening ear. I asked how personalised is a plan when you sent a doc with fresh embryo, when my partner cannot squirt on a tube🤷‍♀️what's fresh there? The phone line went quiet. Why make me pay for a plan when within the plan, My case doesn't fit the service? How bespoke is that? How are you doing me a favour given me a discount for FET, when fresh transfer was not done in the plan I paid for🤷‍♀️
I said an this stress you provide is what makes an embryo not implant but you blame it on a woman's hormone, forgetting you have messed her system up with your flawed services from the onset, dwindling her mental state.

jolly86 · 15/02/2024 13:11

@Jennaqua I am sorry I agree create was disappointing (at least for me too) and the amount of money they get for such low level service is incredible. I decided I would never go ahead with them but don't want to upset others here, this is my personal experience (and could be the specific clinic..)

Sunflower360 · 15/02/2024 14:48

@jolly86 don't feel bad or worried about upsetting anyone as admin, and communication is not the best at Create and appears to be a shared problem. Unfortunately, chasing, preservation, and a firm tone tend to get results, but when someone is already stressed and emotional through IVF, it's just something else to have to deal with.

Regarding treatment, I have to say I do believe most IVF clinics are much of muchness, and there is no great formula. Part of me wonders if IVF is just potluck as with TTC naturally. Having had a rubbish experience at another clinic (not Create) where they could not tell the difference between a blood vessel and a follicle, I have to say my expectations were considerably low at the offset when I came to Create.

I've kind of accepted to expect the worst and hope for the best through this journey, as unfortunately, science has still got a long way to go where fertility is concerned.

I've accepted if it doesn't work at Create another clinic may not work for me, but a lot is about how you get on with the Dr and if you're on the same page, which thankfully I feel I am in our case. If you're not then it is probably best to find a clinic where you have that agreed approach on the IVF journey, hence why the consultations are quite important. Again I had a rubbish consultation with another private clinic before coming to Create where I almost got put on long protocol...I did not agree with that so ended up going with Create, but that's just me.

@VenusStarr how are you? Has AF arrived?

OP posts:
VenusStarr · 15/02/2024 20:20

Hi @Sunflower360 yeh, it arrived just as I was leaving work this evening. Annoying it's so late so not starting injections til Saturday. Going for acupuncture on Saturday morning.
I don't feel anything about doing another cycle, just completely numb about it.

Are you waiting for yours?
