I'm 38, currently in a 3 cycle Natural Modfied ICSI package and nearing transfer stage.

Morning everyone.
I had my nurse consult this morning to prep for cycle 2. I will be estrogen priming this time to hopefully get the follicles growing more evenly. So hopefully will get my meds next week as I need to start them 5 days after my LH surge for at least 7 days and I'm cd5 today.

I still feel really numb about it all, just going through the motions really.

@VenusStarr that's good that there's a plan, I understand estrogen priming can be good so hopefully that'll get the results their after.

Can anyone let me know how much Prednisolone is via Create? They invoiced £28 for 2 boxes but that seems very high to me.

Argh. Just need to vent. They missed the estradiol off the prescription, even though I've paid for it. I've got 1 day I can be home next week to be in so need the estrogen sorting asap. They said they'd sorted it but had confirmation this morning from Stork and its still missing! Ffs.

I had my pregnancy blood test yesterday. It was negative and we are both feeling really down about it. We had hoped we could be one of those lucky people who get it to work first time

On a positive note we did get a call the day after transfer to say one other embryo had made it a 4bb. This was a surprise as on transfer day they said there was only one. Perhaps they meant only one on day 5 suitable for transfer.

So our next steps will either be to transfer that one or do another cycle. We think we only want one child but not sure if we should do another cycle as it looks like for this cycle all the embryos had high fragmentation at day 3.

Does anyone have any suggestions what they would do?

@VenusStarr sorry they missed your medication. I hope they get it to you before the start date

@Sunflower360 glad your hysteroscopy was needed and hope the FET goes well next month.

@VenusStarr hope you get your meds sorted, do you know if estrogen priming can help with egg quality?

@Plantymcplant sorry about the pregnancy test result, but really good news to have another embryo!

update from me: Doctor wants to keep everything the same for natural modified and thinks there is not much evidence in terms of supplements / protocols to help with egg quality. But he has agreed to change to dual trigger to hopefully eliminate ‘empty follicle’ as I had two follicles but only one egg was retrieved and my Estradiol levels indicated two eggs also.

I did a private blood test last year on my thyroid and it showed elevated free T4 to this to my GP she sent me to ENT fire a referral. A ultrasound showed I’ve got a possible cancerous nodule so now the Doctors will decide to keep scanning to see how this nodule behaves or to remove part of my thyroid gland completely.

I am not sure how to feel but feel like numb from it all, I just feel like I can’t catch a break lately but I will try and keep thinking positive as I don’t have any other choice really.

@Plantymcplant my daughter was a 4bb ❤maybe that blast formed in the same day after your transfer?

@Plantymcplant I never got very good embryos, indeed I only ever got 1 average blastocyst which was a 4bb and it turned out my baby. This time I didn't get any good embryos either and it didn't work. I am thinking I was one time lucky.

@VenusStarr that is really rubbish, hopefully they get that sorted for you asap, unfortunately admin is a regular issue I find

@Plantymcplant really sorry about your result but it is good that you have another embryo. Sorry, I cannot recall what age you said you were, but that would be a deciding factor for me as to whether another collection would be good to do if time was a concern

@Hopesandsunshine sorry to hear about how you are feeling but good to know you have a plan in place for the next cycle

It's still not sorted!! Ffs. I'm flitting between telling them to forget it and just crying. It's so stressful trying to juggle this and work full time. I'm really stressed with a work issue at the moment too, so it's not helping.
But why is it so hard just to do things properly in the first place?!?!

@VenusStarr can you go to the clinic to get the meds? I’ve done that a few times

@VenusStarr I would call the clinic and report it as an issue, don't take no for an answer - its worked for me when I've had a couple of issues. Hopefully you get this sorted

Thanks @Doxy21 I said I'd go and collect but with work etc today was the only realistic day I could go and I was told no. Don't worry, it's sorted 🙄 but today the pharmacy have only got the original script.

@Sunflower360 I'm waiting for the manager to call but I don't think she will as my coordinator has emailed to say it's sorted and that she'd get the pharmacy to call me.... they've not rang.

When I'm already not feeling like I can do ivf again, it feels like an uphill struggle 😪 hope you're both OK

I had gone in for my egg collection today and 🤞for positive feedback. Kind of had a suspicious look when they asked if it was my 1st time and I said yes🙄🤔🤨. While I was at risk of OHSS, the Dr, noticed a developing polyps in my endometrium but couldn't give more details on the size or if its at the stage were it will cause damage to implantation, hence it was noticed on Wednesday. (It wasn't there on Monday when I scanned). The Dr said its the side effect of the IVF medication 🙄🤨as the endometrium was perfect before IVF treatment. Going forward, expecting call tomorrow as the embryologist didn't give me details of the state of my womb when I asked after egg collection, just said didn't have that information but verified 8 follicles were retrieved. 🤞
I will be doing ICSI so I will keep updating on how the cycle goes...Next week...#positivevibes🙏

@Plantymcplant I'm really sorry to hear that, sending lots of love. Definitely great news about that additional embryo though. I suppose it depends how you are feeling emotionally (and financially of course) - but from what I understand I wouldn't put too much emphasis on the grading of the embryo, and personally I'd go ahead and do that transfer before thinking about another cycle, but that's me :)

@VenusStarr What a mess, glad it was sorted in the end. It is a shame the admin side of Create lets them down. Definitely have a word with the clinic, I've had similar issues and since I complained they've been really on top of it. Any additional stress during a cycle is just not helpful!

I'm starting stims tonight, doing natural modified this time, so hoping for some better results!

Hi everyone, I’m going to duck out of here for a while, you’re all lovely and wonderful and I’ve really appreciated your support and knowledge! Thank you.
I’m trying to accept that what will be will be, stop obsessing so much about all of this, try to relax more and enjoy the positives I already have in my life.
I wish all of you the absolute best, I really hope you get to healthy pregnancies, or to a happy fulfilling life without children, if that ends up being the outcome, as I suspect it will be for me. Xx

@Jennaqua thats a good number, hope your day 1 fertilisation update went ok? Have they advised a Hysteroscopy for the polyp? I had the same thing happen so had to have it removed before any transfer taking place

@HopefulElle completely understand and hope the rest of your journey goes ok

@VenusStarr hope you're ok and have got further with the meds. I have mine on order with Stork and they asked to deliver next week (which is fine as I'm not starting for a few weeks anyway), I gauged they were inundated this week

@HopefulElle I am sorry and I understand how it feels overwhelming and you feel your life taken over by ivf. I feel much better when i forget about ivf for a while. I hope you feel better, and wish you all the best in this journey

@HopefulElle Every woman was designed to give birth. Lifestyle, food, stress has altered our genes and all what not that hinders this process. I understand the mental and financial challenges we go through to achieve this state of mind fulfilment. I respect your decision, however you chose to move on. 💯 🤗🤗🤗

The call came through that out of the 8eggs, 5 are good and have been fertilised via icsi. They will give me another call back on Monday as its a freeze all I am doing, while I keep drinking my beetroot+watermelon+ginger smoothie. While I continue taking my vitamins(CoQ10+Folic acid+vitD with lots of oranges and red 🍇) and eating well balanced diet (no processed food)🤞🎯

@Jennaqua that is good news. Are you transferring next week?
