I'm 38, currently in a 3 cycle Natural Modfied ICSI package and nearing transfer stage.

@Plantymcplant Good luck, and hope you have plenty to distract you over the next couple of weeks! Terrible communication from your clinic though!

@VenusStarr I hope you are feeling a little better about your cycle results now. One to freeze I think is a good start for your 3 cycles, it only takes one!

@HopefulElle Have you started your next cycle now?

I was hoping to start my next cycle last week but now 7 days late for AF (I'm not pregnant so the delay is just really annoying as want to get on with it). I've been thinking about donor eggs recently, and if this is something we should explore - but will see how the next cycle goes before I get ahead of myself.

@gemso2020 what is making you consider donor eggs?

@gemso2020 Period was late for me this month too, it’s first isn’t it. I have my first scan of the cycle tomorrow. It’s been so long (2 months break) that I feel a little nervous!
Ive given a bit of thought to donor eggs too, but have decided to park that for now and just consider our options after this last cycle.

@gemso2020 and @HopefulElle my first period after EC was over 2 weeks late. So frustrating! As a result, I've had to move my FET to Feb from this month.

Normally like clockwork but it seems when we want AF to arrive, she likes to be fashionably late!

@HopefulElle Ah fab, I'm sure the break has helped, good luck tomorrow!

@Sunflower360 I think I'm just getting ahead of myself, but I'll turn 40 in a few months, and we won't be able to afford any more IVF after these three cycles, obviously my chances would be much higher with donor and I just don't want to regret not looking at it. But I'll see how my next cycle goes, and try to stay positive for now :)

@HopefulElle hope your cycle goes well! Do you have a plan for transfer? Are they going to transfer a day 3?

@Maddie23 I'm hoping to start FET next month, what type are you doing? I was hoping to do it this month, too, but Hysteroscopy follow up is after my AF is due frustratingly then I need the FET Consultation with Create which is next week (AF is due this week)

@gemso2020 you've still got time age wise, but completely understand cost wise, I've considered another collection but not sure yet perhaps will see how the FET goes- got to factor in each FET costs money too, so it all starts adding up really quickly. We've also discussed donor egg but decided it wasn't for us, I had a moment where I thought I could but OH was not for it at all and then upon reflection realised I wouldn't want it either really, but that's just us, plenty of people do it and have very positive stories! Only reason I thought about donor it now rather tha after the IVF is mainly because I want to know there will be some closure somewhere along the line and that will be the IVF for us

@Sunflower360 depends how this cycle goes, if lining and bloods are OK then plan is to transfer but sure whether it will be my frozen day 3 or something from this cycle yet. After having had a couple of cancelled cycles I’m not getting my hopes up yet!

@Sunflower360 I'll be doing medicated FET.
Will start with estradiol on day 2 of full flow, and have a scan on day 8-10. If the lining is 7mm or above then 5 days of progesterone pessaries (can't say I'm looking forward to that!). Then transfer!

Excited but nervous at the same time! What protocol will you be doing?

@Maddie23 Thanks, hopefully Hysteroscopy went ok, will get the report later this week. Pretty much been spotting since I had the Hysteroscopy so hopefully that is ok, but AF is due now too so spotting is normal for me before that too. I'm not sure as yet about which FET, will see what is advised but I'm undecided between medicated and natural modified FET at the moment. What is the medication like with medicated FET? I was hoping to have Cyclogest pessaries as I don't really want to be doing it at work (I understand it's 3 times a day whereas Cyclogest is 2?)

@Sunflower360 so for me it's just the Estrodiol tablets 3x a day and then the Utrogestan pessaries 3x a day. I had the Utrogestan from my stims as it wasn't decided if I would have a fresh cycle or not.

I've been scoping out toilets at work to see where I could do them! Not ideal.

Not a great scan for me. One of my follicles is very large already (22mm) so doctor suspects cyst. Again. Bloods will show whether it’s producing hormones or not; if it isn’t, we can go ahead. If it is, cancelled cycle. Again.
Waiting on this afternoon’s call for the update, but I’m feeling pretty deflated.

I'm sorry @HopefulElle I had a series of cancelled FETs and it was really tough ❤️ I hope you find out soon. If it is not good news, please look after yourself x

Thanks everyone - annoyingly no, they still haven’t called re bloods. Just tried to call them myself and phone lines are closed now. Has anyone had them call you this late?

Just called, LH is really high so can’t go ahead with this cycle. She said she was concerned to see this for the 3rd time so has suggested a consultation to discuss what could potentially be done differently.
For one thing I’d rather have a blood test first in future, rather than keep having to pay for scans, but I’m not sure what else they can/will suggest.

It is disappointing for you. I hope they can come up with a new plan for you x

@HopefulElle sorry you've had another cycle like that, the blood test option is definitely a good idea to minimise cost and hopefully, you get a plan of action in your consultation

Sorry @HopefulElle i don’t know anything about cysts but I’d like to think there’s a way to try and stop them happening?! Maybe I’m wrong.

@HopefulElle really sorry to hear that, so frustrating when you finally hear yourself up for it. Maybe take this time to rest and relax if that is possible? Also apple cider vinegar and castor oil packs are meant to help with cysts (can’t remember how or why but it is online somewhere), thinking if you xx

Thank you lovely ladies for your responses - other than my husband there’s nobody I can talk to in this level of detail so I really appreciate you all. I’ve (of course) read lots of different things about causes and reasons for cysts today. One is when your body doesn’t release the egg on time and then it just keeps growing beyond maturity - could explain why I’ve not been able to get pregnant naturally if this is frequently happening in my case. They can also happen for ‘unknown reasons’ though, so who knows.
Hoping that they have some suggestions for amended protocols in my consultation, and that I don’t have to wait too long for that!
