I'm 38, currently in a 3 cycle Natural Modfied ICSI package and nearing transfer stage.

Double check your spam folder @jolly86 I was waiting months and thought they'd forgotten but it had been in my spam... 🙄

They said yesterday they'd freeze the best one on day 3 then watch if there's any others. Then freeze is we get any blasts on day 5 but will watch til day 6 if anything is slow. So by Monday, will know for definite.

I've just got a general feeling of doom about the whole thing 🫠

Thanks everyone for the kind comments. I am feeling better today. Still some pain but I can get up and walk around so not so scary today! I got the call 6 of the 8 fertilised which is good news. They are going to call back on Saturday with final decision but at the moment they are hoping for a day 5 transfer.

How is everyone else doing?

@VenusStarr I think the ovulating follicle got you into this mood but that is past and now what matters is that you have 3 fertilised eggs so all reason to be positive x

That’s a great result @Plantymcplant! (& glad you’re feeling better, too). @VenusStarr I know exactly what you mean with the disassociation, but you’ve lots to be positive about. Hope you get more good updates.

I’m still waiting for my period to start so that I can crack on with 3rd round. I’m 2 days late now so hopefully won’t be much longer.

@HopefulElle good luck for your third transter, do you have a plan in place for it?

@VenusStarr hope your feeling okay? It’s a horrible journey to be on but hoping you get some good quality embryos. ❤️

i have a review coming up with the doctor next week and I wonder if it’s worth asking questions about priming, the trigger and if the protocol needs changing? I have a feeling after doing lots of research I might have endometriosis but don’t see the point in having surgery if it’s going to lower my AMH when it’s already so low so wondering if suppression might help? Sorry for the ramble I’m feeling really lost and have more questions than answers but hoping the doctor may know.

@Hopesandsunshine this is my first IVF cycle and we did mild with gonal F and cetrotide.

My AMH was 12 last July and my follicle count was 13 at the baseline scan in November last year which meant we were suggested to do one cycle.

When we started the medication they only found 6 follicles and only 3 were growing on the first scans and there was lots of discussions about being a poor responder or if my AMH had plummeted in the last 6 months although I haven't had that retested yet. But then at day 10 a different doctor found 6 follicles above the black line on the graph. I don't know if they grew quickly or if they hadn't been seen for some reason.

Then we did ottrivele and nurofen until collection

I'm still waiting for my call 😪😪 I don't think it's good news. I've always had early calls. I'm going out of my mind ☹️

@Hopesandsunshine I'm sorry you're feeling low. Definitely ask any questions you're wondering about. I think its better than going in with none. It will help you make an informed decision about next steps.

@VenusStarr have you hear anything as yet? I had a similar issue on one of my cycles and they said they do day 3/5 updates later in the day to give them more time....I think it was more to explain the delay as previously it has always been earlier, but in that instance it was still positive news so hopefully all is ok

Yes. It's not good news today for us. They've frozen one and watching the other 2. But the embryologist said they are very poor.

@VenusStarr did they say the one they froze is poor or is it an average one? I am sorry about this but you know, quality of embryos don't always determine chances of pregnancy ❤

Really sorry to hear that @VenusStarr, must be really disappointing. Hope you’re doing OK. I’ve never had more than one at collection (& only have one frozen after 2 cycles), so currently have my hopes pinned that that one’s a good one. Will hope the same for you.
@Hopesandsunshine thank you. Definitely write down all of the questions you have - I’d email them in advance and ask for a call with your doctor. I’ve found them really helpful in that regard.
@Sunflower360 current plan is same as first 2 cycles but I guess anything can change based on scans/bloods. I just really hope this isn’t a cancelled cycle as keen to get through the 3rd cycle now. Assuming we get that far and lining and bloods are ok then plan is to transfer either the frozen embryo or fresh (if there is one and it appears better than the frozen one).

Period seems to be starting today so slightly disappointed there was no Christmas miracle.. but also pleased it will be time to get started soon.

@jolly86 she said it was good enough to freeze but was 7 cell grade 2.
The other 2 are very poor and she basically said she doesn't expect them to develop further.

@HopefulElle is your frozen a day 3?

I feel like crap and kind of wish we'd not even gone back to do ivf. All this effort for a poor quality chance doesn't feel worth it.

@VenusStarr my best embryo on day 3 out of 3 fertilized eggs was also 11 cell grade 2 but they say class grade 2 as good and not much different from grade 1. This is unlucky but can happen when we only have 3 fertilized eggs on day 1, it doesn't mean next rounds will be similar.

@VenusStarr yes my frozen is a day 3. They said first cycle they would freeze at day 3 and beyond that push to day 5. Cycle 2 my one egg did not make it past day 3 (and was a poor quality grade 3 on day 3 so I didn’t expect it to).
Am I recalling correctly this is cycle 1 of 3 for you? I don’t know if this is helpful for you so apologies if not, but I was also regretting IVF based on my outcomes so far, whereas now I think I’d rather know I tried and it didn’t work than have the regret of not trying. I know it’s not the same as this isn’t your first round, but you must not have been ready to quit - plus, there’s hope that you’ll get better results in subsequent cycles.

If you do still regret restarting once things aren’t as raw, they do issue partial refunds.

@VenusStarr our frozen day 3 is the same. But they wouldn’t freeze if there wasn’t a chance

Your experiences have been inspiring.
I will start my meds in a few days and document accordingly and keep the team up to date. I am in for single cycle+ICSI (FET). It will depend on quality of my eggs and womb lining at the end of the day, also micromanage the create team once again🤔🤨(don't have cash to waste on anyone's incompetence, while I strive to avoid stress and toxins🤞🎯🙏🤞

I’m so sorry @VenusStarr but like everyone has said to have one embryo to freeze is still good but I know not the news you were expecting especially when you had quite a few follicles on your baseline scan. Onwards and upwards lovely and maybe ask the doctor to look at everything again I.e protocol. Maybe you might get better quality with natural modified but you are risking only getting the one egg in the cycle but it’s your choice and hoping your doing whatever brings you comfort right now xxx

@HopefulElle thank you for that yes I’m trying to think of lots of things and hoping it’ll open up a conversation and help me understand things better.

@Plantymcplant thanks for sharing, it sounds like my AMH and AFC are drastically low (I’m 36) but hope you have every success on your journey 😊

@VenusStarr sorry to hear that but try not to feel disheartened-as said in a previous comment they would not freeze if it did not have a chance

@Sunflower360 thank you! Yes the goal is a transfer on Monday if they grow ok. So nervous waiting for the phone call. I hope it's soon
