Have you ever tried a mild approach, so starting stims earlier? @Ks2023 I don't think saying age is helpful at all. Did you have a package planned or was this a one cycle plan?

Sunflower360 · 20/12/2023 14:27

@Ks2023 age isn't a valid reason as you can get more eggs into your 40's. AMH / AFC is more indicative of what you may get. What was your AMH again? Sorry if you already said. I recall you saying your bloods were 400 for Estradiol? May be worth asking why they proceeded with egg collection as I understand around 1000 is usually a sign of a mature egg

@Ks2023 so sorry, did you do the normal short protocol before with everyday and higher dose?

Ks2023 · 20/12/2023 14:32

@Sunflower360 my AMH is 4.76 and AFC was 3, last E2 was 650 on Monday and I been told it’s very good? We will do another round again but we need to speak with doctor first to find out what’s our options age 🥹

VenusStarr · 20/12/2023 15:16

I'd see if they can do you on a mild stimulation protocol and start stims from day 2 instead. I'm so sorry. There's no chance you'd already ovulated or anything is there @Ks2023

Jennaqua · 20/12/2023 15:39

So sorry to hear that. @jolly86

Doxy21 · 20/12/2023 15:45

Oh no @Ks2023 I’m so sorry. Same happened to me on my first round with create (always had eggs on my 2 rounds before and my 2 rounds after). I’m 38. But they said that sometimes there just isn’t eggs in follicles 😞

Ks2023 · 20/12/2023 17:51

We paid for ICSI and of course due to no eggs collected will we be charged for ICSI? Or we can have some credit for our next try? Same with egg transfer? Anyone knows?

Ks2023 · 20/12/2023 17:56

@Doxy21 this time when you didn’t have any eggs hun what was your estrogen levels? I think next time I’m just gonna abandon if my eatrogen is not high enough. Just upsetting that no one give me any indication and everyone told me my estrogen is very good. My highest was 650 so clearly it wasn’t good? And they collected only 1 egg today and left another one inside and told me it’s too close to blood vessel but why no one mentioned this me before as I had so many scans before? I think I’m overthinking now. So upset. Can’t stop crying all day. I really feel like I lost a baby I already had in my head 💔

Doxy21 · 20/12/2023 19:00

@Ks2023 we asked for a refund on ICSI so make sure you ask too. I’m afraid I don’t know what my levels were.

VenusStarr · 20/12/2023 19:09

Sending you lots of love @Ks2023 it's really upsetting. You definitely should have a refund / credit for the icsi as they got no eggs, so nothing to work on and I would also ask about the embryo transfer monry too.
I've heard someone else have a blood vessel making the ovary unsafe to access but that was picked up before so that's odd it was only mentioned after.

Definitely make a list of questions for your follow up. I've always found they like to book these quickly x

jolly86 · 20/12/2023 21:18

@Ks2023 I am surprised they didn't talk about cancelling cycle with 650 estrogen level and only 1 or 2 follicle? As that would mean you save quite a bit: the cost of all starting from egg collection. I am sure they will refund ICSI and embryo transfer though, or it means you won't have to pay for these in the next round.

HopefulElle · 21/12/2023 05:31

Wishing you the very best of luck today @Doxy21 ❤️
@jolly86 also keeping my fingers crossed that your test was just too early.
thinking of you both x

Morning all,

I was on the previous thread in the early stages before it got full. I’m finally starting Natural Modified at St Paul’s. I’m 43 low amh and low afc. I have a few questions as lately my patient coordinator hasn’t been responding- yes she was quick to take my payment.

  1. AF is due in about 3 days, I emailed the coordinator email to get my meds (for various reasons we were wondering whether to wait). How long do meds take to arrive?? Do you normally find better response calling or emailing? I feel anxious as wanted them here before Christmas. Do you use the email address that starts support or the one that starts stpcc??
  2. If you email the nurse support address - is that the support address. How soon do they get back to you or do they have a separate number
  3. Also as my stims is likely to be on day 5, 29th Dec does anyone know if the clinic is open.

Thanks!

VenusStarr · 21/12/2023 06:27

Hope you're doing ok @Doxy21
Thinking if you @jolly86 @Ks2023 ❤️

@Reeni80 hi. I think I'd call as your deadline is tight for the meds. Have you had a nurse consult already? I think they can sort next day delivery if needed. Mine took a few days to sort in the end.
I'm with Birmingham and they said they're open as usual between.

Hope everyone is ok. I had a terrible sleep last night. Its getting close for me now 😬

Reeni80 · 21/12/2023 07:00

@VenusStarr thanks. I had my consult about 2 months back to trying to remember everything. Good luck- just trying to catch up on here, what’s happening?

VenusStarr · 21/12/2023 07:04

Fingers crossed you get it sorted @Reeni80 🙏

I'm due my period in a week, so starting stims. Doing a 3 cycle package, so not transferring for a while yet. But not done ivf for over a year now.

Doxy21 · 21/12/2023 07:12

@Reeni80 they were really uncommunicative this cycle for me. I had to get meds from the clinic.

did a hpt to be prepared for my beta today - negative. Annoying.

VenusStarr · 21/12/2023 07:15

Oh @Doxy21 I'm so sorry ❤️

Reeni80 · 21/12/2023 07:31

Oh I’ll have to get into them today… even their phones take forever. The clinic is 1.5 hours away for me. So will see how it goes.

have been trying to be relaxed and now that day 1 is a few days away (hopefully), I’m trying to remember everything!

VenusStarr · 21/12/2023 08:12

Try them now @Reeni80 I got through without having to be in the hold queue around this time the other day.

jolly86 · 21/12/2023 08:13

@VenusStarr thank you. Indeed I think I may have had a chemical. I did a first response this morning and it’s extremely faint, the cheap test yesterday morning also had a very very weak something. But given first response is supposed to be more sensitive, it should ve been darker today than the previous tests. Even the clear blue ones from two days ago had the slightest colour by studying them later. It’s a shame I didn’t have first response yesterday and the day before, I think they would be given me a better idea.

VenusStarr · 21/12/2023 08:16

Oh @jolly86 yes, I can see the lines on the frer and the cheaper one - is that from boots? Those are 25iu.

Is today otd? Are you on progesterone? I'd possibly stay on meds a bit longer to double check. X

VenusStarr · 21/12/2023 08:21

@jolly86 when I had a faint line at 9dpt they got me in for a blood test, might be worth seeing if they'll do that for you?

Ugh, I'm sorry its not a clear yes or no

jolly86 · 21/12/2023 08:25

@VenusStarr the frer is this morning and cheap one is yesterday morning, it is an online one called femometer. When I used to buy loads of ovulation tests they came with and by now I used them all up. I am on progesterone yes 3 times a day. I will continue meds and probably test again this afternoon or tomorrow morning. Tomorrow is otd. But I checked the last cycle when I had pregnancy and my line on this day (same re calculating for day 5 transfer) and same test it was way darker.
