@Hopesandsunshine I think blood results give them a better indicator as follicles can be empty or cysts etc. Perhaps it could be to do with LH...it could be worth asking? I ask way too many questions but find it helps me to understand their decision making and in some instances query it - don't be shy to do that!

@Sunflower360 No idea, I didn't ask lol. I was just happy to hear it was fine to proceed with FET as it had been a long wait already.

@Hopesandsunshine @VenusStarr Thank you x

jolly86 · 12/12/2023 06:51

@Hopesandsunshine my lh wasn't rising but my lead follicle was 25 mm so I had risk of early ovulation, they told me to take ibuprofen 3 times in the day after trigger. I wasn't comfortable with this at all, but took it 2 times in the end. I didn't ovulate though, they collected 5 eggs and said the lead follicle was in tact. Although I think it didn't fertilize :(

Hopesandsunshine · 12/12/2023 08:28

Thanks @jolly86 I will try and bear that in mind but I’m not feeling very hopeful at this point. But I guess the silver lining is that they will scan before going ahead with egg collection and see if it’s worth going ahead or not.

@Sunflower360 I’ll definitely try and remember to ask the questions thank you 😊

Doxy21 · 12/12/2023 08:37

Oh my gosh it feels like everyone is suddenly on the ivf helter skelter so close to Xmas. Good luck @Hopesandsunshine and @Ks2023!

@jolly86 how are you getting on?

jolly86 · 12/12/2023 09:21

@Doxy21 not great I can't really concentrate on anything x what about you?

Ks2023 · 12/12/2023 09:28

@jolly86 get yourself a puzzle 🤣 great thing to take your mind from things.

Doxy21 · 12/12/2023 10:00

@jolly86 im having really bad cramping which I’ve never had before on transfer but these are different progesterone meds - not a fan!

HopefulElle · 12/12/2023 10:49

@Hopesandsunshine yes I had similar happen (can’t remember what my levels were), they called me and were concerned about ovulation. They made me do an ovulation test, take ibuprofen, only one trigger and pulled EC forward a day or 2. They scanned before collection and I hadn’t ovulated. I was so relieved!! Really stressful time but reassured that at least they were doing bloods so frequently as to spot it, convinced another clinic might not have and then I’d have ovulated. Really hope it goes ok for you, too x

Hopesandsunshine · 12/12/2023 11:25

@HopefulElle ahhh thank you so much for replying whilst your on holiday🥰 well the nurse did ask me to do an ovulation test which I did but the line wasn’t dark it was there but a little faint (I guess I could take one today and see what it shows).

The nurse did say initially to maybe have egg collection today but spoke with the consultant who said to keep to Wednesday. I guess I’ll have to wait and see what tomorrow brings as there is nothing more I can do at this point. My ovulation pain has gone so now I’m worried that I’ve already ovulated but there is nothing more I can do.

i think I’m curious to know if this happened to you again in your following cycles @HopefulElle ? What did they do differently?

Sunflower360 · 12/12/2023 11:46

@Doxy21 cramps sounds positive, perhaps implantation? Fingers crossed!

Update from me... we got another 4 day 5 embryos in the freezer, so we have 6 in total and then, including the day 3, it's 7. Can't quite believe it! With low AMH, I'm happy with that. I have 3 others being monitored until tomorrow but not holiding out for those as our day 6's never have made the cut so far.

jolly86 · 12/12/2023 11:54

@HopefulElle I actually wasn't happy with them because I felt I should have been scanned on the saturday and could possibly trigger on sunday, instead they left me over weekend and by monday my lead follicle had shot up so much. The fact that they don't want to do much over weekend is really bad for the treatment outcomes I believe, but I know my NHS clinic was even worse for weekends.. it is a UK thing unfortunately.

jolly86 · 12/12/2023 12:02

@Sunflower360 that is just amazing!! Congrats on being done with egg collection then

VenusStarr · 12/12/2023 14:10

🥳🥳🥳 wow @Sunflower360 that's amazing! What grades are your embryos? That gives me lots of hope 🙌 I'm so pleased for you. Mild seems like a good call for this round 🙂

@jolly86 sorry to hear you're struggling a bit ❤️

Hope you're OK @Doxy21

@Hopesandsunshine keeping my fingers crossed for you for tomorrow 🙏

My meds are coming on Friday! Woop. It will feel real then 😬

Doxy21 · 12/12/2023 14:16

@Sunflower360 as it was a day 3 transfer it’s unlikely to be implantation. Implantation of day 3 doesn’t usually happen until around day 5-7 post transfer apparently. Hopefully right now it’ll be a blastocyst as it’s day 5. Which reminds me that I haven’t had a call about the one they kept to see how it would do

jolly86 · 12/12/2023 14:18

@Doxy21 wow why would implantation be so late? I don't see why it's different when a blastocyst or day 3 is transferred.

Doxy21 · 12/12/2023 14:20

@jolly86 because the day 3 needs to make it to blastocyst first. That’s usually day 5/6. Then implantation can occur.

jolly86 · 12/12/2023 14:36

@Doxy21 yes but that means after the transfer it will start implanting in 2-3 days right? I thought you meant 5-7 after transfer, but you mean from egg collection probably.
In my case, yesterday was blastocyst stage so today is day 6.

Doxy21 · 12/12/2023 14:42

@jolly - usually with a day 5/6 transfer it implants 1-3 days after transfer. So with a day 3 you need to add 2/3 extra days for it to blast and hatch and then implant. So if you transferred day 3 on Saturday, implantation is likely to be tomorrow-Friday I think.

i found this online:

Here is a breakdown of the events that follow a 3-day embryo transfer, if successful:

  • 1DP3DT: At 1-day post-3-day transfer, the embryo continues to grow and develop.
  • 2DP3DT: At 2 days post-3-day transfer, the embryo develops into a blastocyst.
  • 3DP3DT: At 3 days post-3-day transfer, hatching occurs, where the blastocyst hatches out of its outer shell.
  • 4DP3DT: At 4 days post-3-day transfer, the blastocyst attaches to a point on the lining of the uterus.
  • 5DP3DT: At 5 days post-3-day transfer, the blastocyst begins to dig into the uterine lining, starting the process of implantation.
  • 6DP3DT: At 6 days post-3-day transfer, implantation continues, with the blastocyst burying deeper.
  • 7DP3DT: At 7 days post-3-day transfer, implantation is generally complete and the blastocyst has divided into fetal cells and placental cells.
  • 8DP3DT: At 8 days post-3-day transfer, the cells making up the placenta start to secrete human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) – this is the hormone that is detected by pregnancy tests.
Maddie23 · 12/12/2023 16:56

@Sunflower360 that's amazing!!!! So happy for you!

I've got my treatment consultation tomorrow for our FET. Let's see how that goes.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Hopesandsunshine · 12/12/2023 17:26

@Sunflower360 that’s amazing news!!! Really well done and hopefully you can relax and enjoy Christmas 🎄

@VenusStarr thank you so much I really appreciate the positivity. I think what will be will be at this stage and I’m just trying to take each day as it comes. Glad you got your medication we might end up having similar timelines for January start?

@Doxy21 @jolly86 i think I remember having cramps when I had a positive - it was short lived but thought I’d share my input on the tww.

i like @Ks2023 idea of doing a puzzle but don’t get a 1000 piece if your a novice as we’ve still not completed ours 🤣

Doxy21 · 12/12/2023 17:28

Thanks @Hopesandsunshine that’s encouraging!

Sunflower360 · 12/12/2023 19:50

Thanks, ladies! @VenusStarr, the grades are as follows for all 6 x day 5's frozen:

5AB
5BA
5BB
5BC
5CB
4CC

So there is a mixed bag, some great, good and poor. I'm not sure if any of these are viable, so I'll suppose it'll be a case of transferring the best morphological grade for the FET. My preference would be to use one from our 1st cycle as that was the cycle following my chemical pregnancy. Can't be sure what caused the chemical, but if it was a non viable embryo, then perhaps that following cycle of follicles would have produced a good one? 🤔 I don't know, no science backing that theory, just my idea. That was the 5BA embryo, so it's second best graded.

That's good news @Maddie23 what FET protocol are you looking to do? I'll likely have my consultation after the Hysteroscopy in January

Sunflower360 · 12/12/2023 20:34

@Doxy21 did you get your call about your embryo?
