Hi 👋 I could not see a thread had been set up so thought I would do so. Bit about me...

➡️38
➡️Low AMH being main issue, last test was around 4pmol in the summer
➡️Have had an abandoned and failed IVF cycle in Spring of this year due to failed fertilisation, OH had low morphology, other parameters ok so ICSI advised next time
➡️Since then, I had 2 x consecutive ICSI natural modified egg collections and have 2 x day 5 ❄️❄️ and 1 x day 3 ❄️ embryos, whether they are any good, only time will tell
➡️I'm about to start another egg collection on the mild protocol this time and will (hopefully if it goes ok) transfer this time

Please join the rollercoaster for November as you wish!

Hope everyone is doing well and nice to hear some positive updates! @IslandsintheOcean big congrats, fantastic news!

I had a day 3 update today. The 6 eggs that fertilised are still looking good but the other one hasn’t progressed. Transfer is booked for Monday. I’m tentatively excited but anxious about numbers dropping drastically from here. Fingers crossed the transfer goes ahead.

Great update @Hopingforno2in2023 , seems things are going well for you too. Good luck with your transfer on Monday as well.

@BebeBelle very sorry to hear about your negative. Another kick in the guts but you seem to have such a positive attitude in looking to the next cycle. Maybe enjoy a glass of wine now while you still can.

TT82 · 11/11/2023 13:00

@IslandsintheOcean congratulations!! Hope for a sticky one ❤️

@Runner77, @Hopingforno2in2023 great news ladies, fingers crossed for Monday!

@BebeBelle just sending you lots of hugs.. 🥺new cycle- new hope

TT82 · 11/11/2023 13:04

Ladies, need advice! Do you know if I can take antihistamine pills if I am on norethisteron pills? And will they impact the stimulation or egg quality??
I think I have hives triggered by cold virus. They come and go during the day, but the worst during the night - sooooo itchy and hot skin here or there. I am putting cold wer towels which help... Read it can last weeks! And antihistamines bigger dose helps with itchiness at least.

I will contact the dr on Monday, but maybe someone knows? 🙏

username131024 · 11/11/2023 13:19

Norhisterone is really a period delay drug - so you haven’t started stimulating the follicles to produce mature eggs. Antihistamine at this stage shouldn’t have any impact on eggs other that at any other time in your life.

@TT82 - hives are so itchy - hope you get some relief. Fingers crossed for this cycle for you.

TT82 · 11/11/2023 13:57

@IslandsintheOcean thank you!! Yes, they are incredibly itchy, at night cannot control myself not to scratch. I worry my dr will cancel the ivf if I complain too much.. It is not bad during day, mostly nights

kirstysmbc · 11/11/2023 15:11

@Runner77 @Hopingforno2in2023 Wonderful news for both of you. So nice to have a transfer buddy too! Best of luck to you both for Monday

Hopingforno2in2023 · 11/11/2023 16:13

Excited for us both on Monday @Runner77!

GOL · 11/11/2023 16:52

@IslandsintheOcean massive congratulations, I'm so happy for you. I hope everything goes perfectly well for you till the end!
@BebeBelle so sorry to hear that this round wasn't successful for you. I know it's difficult but try to be positive and optimistic for the next round!
I had my first embryo transfer today. Things were not very bright. Out of 7 good quality day 3 embryos, only 3 had survived to day 5, 2 blastocysts of 3BC and 3CC and a third one behind being a blastocyst. I almost cried when I was told! I first asked them if we can transfer 2, they were Ok but preferred transferring one in the first cycle. At the end, they just transferred 3BC one. I'm not sure if it was the best decision but it was so stressful to sit in the hospital and try to decide if we want to transfer 1 or 2. They will assess the remaining 2 and decide if they are freezable tomorrow/Monday.

Sunflower360 · 11/11/2023 17:06

@TT82 I was advised no to antihistamines in the spring/early summer (this was my NHS clinic, so different to where I am now). They didn't explain why, I simply asked, and they advised no. I think it's worth checking with your clinic though, seems a shame cancelling if you could use some kind of remedy. Hope you feel better from it soon!

@Runner77 and @Hopingforno2in2023 wishing you both all the best for Monday.
@GOL I hope you are feeling ok after the transfer. I do have a friend whose 2 first cycles failed. They were initially positive but both led to miscarriage. One in the 1st trimester the other in the second. They used the ‘better’ grades first. The 3rd embryo was a 3BC. She is 18months now and was toddling around our house last week. So stay positive.

Hopingforno2in2023 · 11/11/2023 17:36

The gradings don’t necessarily indicate likelihood of success @GOL, you still have a very good chance! Keeping everything crossed for you.

username131024 · 11/11/2023 18:37

@GOL - congratulations on your transfer! Another step along the way. Each cycle and each embryo is different. There are lots of stories of the less than perfect embryos making it.

Thanks @Sunflower360 - that’s a helpful clarification. Hoping I haven’t led @TT82 into trouble!

Well done those waiting esp @Runner77 and @Hopingforno2in2023 - there’s a lot of waiting through this process!

Caubabatko · 11/11/2023 18:39

3rd US scan this morning and they were able to identify a dominant follicle of 15mm, also endometrium was now 8mm.
Trigger shot tonight and progesterone pessaries to start on Monday, transfer on Saturday! Panic over and now very excited😃

TT82 · 11/11/2023 20:36

@Sunflower360 thank you! I am not taking antihistamines for now, a week ago took 1 but it didn't help, so think I would need a bigger dose.. Then they will definitely cancel tge cycle 😢 So I will continue putting cold towel at night, hoping it will pass away soon

TT82 · 11/11/2023 20:38

@IslandsintheOcean no, of course not :) I am still trying wo medicine and dr... Never had it, what a nasty thing! 🙈

kirstysmbc · 11/11/2023 20:53

@GOL Congrats on your transfer! I'm just a couple of days ahead, had my transfer on Thursday. My embryo is a 4BC, so also not a very good grade, but I'm trying to stay positive. When is your otd? Anything nice planned to distract yourself during the 2ww?

GOL · 12/11/2023 11:28

@onewishplease @Hopingforno2in2023 @IslandsintheOcean @kirstysmbc Thank you all for your warm wishes. There is nothing to do at this point other than being positive and hopeful!
@kirstysmbc my test day is 22nd Nov, what about yours?? How are you feeling at the moment? How active are you? Tbh, I don't have much planned for the 2ww, do you? I appreciate hearing them ro give me some ideas.

kirstysmbc · 12/11/2023 19:45

@GOL My test day is also 22nd November, my clinic have upped it to 13 days post transfer. Supposedly due to allow for late implantation, but I think it's more about ruling out more chemical pregnancies. I'll def test before that though.

No real plans for 2ww, but I'm very lucky to have my daughter to keep me busy. Other than that, plenty of crap TV and trying to get out and about to catch up with friends.

amy2503 · 12/11/2023 20:55

Hi ladies- I'm in my tww after my first cycle. I'm almost 25 and have a step-daughter (who I love dearly) but it means we have to pay for treatment which has been very hard. We were predicted a simple and good-odds cycle due to age and now that I've had my fallopian tubes removed- however out of the 8 eggs we got, none had fertilised at the first phone call time, then later that day I got a call to say one had, late, with a second one joining it that night. We have transferred one and frozen the other but the quality isn't fab for frozen embryo so it may not survive thaw- what a rollercoaster it's been. I'm about 99% sure I'm out, I feel so much like I'm about to come in and have some pretty much the whole tww. Anyhow, test day Is Friday. Xxxx

Runner77 · 12/11/2023 23:37

@onewishplease @kirstysmbc @TT82 thanks so much for your well wishes. Transfer was this morning, I’m feeling so grateful that we got to this stage! Much stomach was in a knot this morning worrying if the embryologist would call to say none had made it. We are still waiting to hear if the other 5 are good enough to biopsy or freeze.

@Hopingforno2in2023 good luck with your transfer! Hope it goes smoothly.

@GOL from what I have read it seems there is no way to predict if a higher or lower grade will be successful. I’ve seen so many ladies who have success with the lower graded embryo rather than the higher grade. Good luck with your TWW.

@amy2503 welcome. It’s brilliant that you have 1 frozen, although hopefully you will have success with the current one. It’s such a hard process, and impossible to predict the results. Fingers crossed for you.

Hopingforno2in2023 · 13/11/2023 06:50

Congratulations on your transfer @Runner77!

Good luck @amy2503, I really hope the one you have on board is the one!

I am just waiting for the call from the clinic this morning to say whether we have anything to transfer. Transfer is booked for 1:30.

onewishplease · 13/11/2023 07:08

Morning,

Hello @amy2503 wishing you all the best. Try and stay positive and hopeful and see what Friday brings and fingers crossed for you.
Glad you have had your transfer @Runner77 and let us know how the other 5 go - when you say biopsy do you mean for PGTA testing?
@kirstysmbc and @GOL keep taking care of yourselves and stay occupied, eat good food etc.
@Caubabatko wishing you all the best for today. Let us know how you get on.

I have now had 5 evenings of injections, and this morning I am adding in Fyremadel in my thigh also. Feeling ok. Groggy in the mornings. Tired through the day. But not bad. Can’t say I’ve felt much in my ovaries, the odd tingle, but nothing significant, so hope it is working and my body is responding to the stimulation 🤞 I have my next scan on Friday morning, it will have been 10 days since my baseline scan where she counted 5 follicles emerging on day 4 of my cycle. We shall see.

All the best everyone x

Socu3 · 13/11/2023 07:40

Morning all. Thought I'd update the group. Pretty sure I'm out as it looks like af is trying to start. I've got red and brown spotting. I've not tested but don't feel there's much point. I did think the progesterone would hold it off somewhat but it doesn't appear to be. Will speak to the clinic in a bit to find out next steps. Lots of good luck and success to everyone.

Runner77 · 13/11/2023 08:21

Best of luck @Hopingforno2in2023, I’m hoping it all goes well for you. The morning of the transfer is agonising!

@onewishplease yes PGTA. We thought it was worthwhile doing the testing so that we can prioritise which embryos to transfer in the future. However we are also ok if it’s not possible to biopsy any extra embryos. Glad to hear your cycle is going well. Don’t worry about not feeling anything, I have never felt anything, such as twinges, during stims.

@Socu3 sorry to hear that but doesn’t necessarily mean it’s your period starting. When is your OTD?

Hope everyone else is doing well x

Hopingforno2in2023 · 13/11/2023 09:01

spotting can be very normal @Socu3, fingers crossed all is well.

I have a blastocyst to transfer! The other three are still growing so will be kept until day 6. One she said is very close so I am hoping I will have at least one to freeze also.
