FET/IVF/ICSI - October 2033

Lauralozzle · 23/09/2023 13:09

Anyone due to start cycle/have transfer in October jump on board!

Little history:

TTC our first. Trying for 4 years. Officially unexplained but I only have one ovary that responds/works. Fertilisation issues. Positive Sperm Oxidative Stress Test (likely DNA Frag). So it’s really a bit of a mix.

Dec 22/Jan 23 - First ICSI cycle. 8 eggs, 6 mature, 2 fertilised. One poor blast to transfer. Nothing to freeze. BFN.

July 23 - Second ICSI cycle. Using AOA & ZyMot chip. 8 eggs, 8 mature, 4 fertilised. One fresh to transfer and 2 to freeze. BFN.

Oct 23 - First FET scheduled.

Currently waiting for my period to start so that FET cycle can start. Should start beginning of Oct, so FET likely towards end of the month.

@biscuitsndtea yes I think its completely normal. Your ovaries are hard at work.
Probably all the hormones or follicles growing . I mentioned it to them yesterday and they weren't concerned.
I've been getting pains on/off in my stomach and get a heaviness feeling too. I've had this horrible feeling lately like I'm going to wee myself 😆 and my stomach gets so tender and sore when I go toilet.
I'd mention it to your clinic aswell if you feel concerned. I guess they werent too concerned based on my scan but you may be different. How many follicles exactly did they count

IVFDublin · 18/10/2023 15:55

@GabbyGal haha your deduction skills are strong, I am indeed based in Dublin :) Any update on when you've got egg collection? Looks like actually a fair few of us are now lined up for transfer next week...! Hopefully good vibes across the board.

I am counting down the seconds to egg collection at this stage, the last 48 hours have been grim - I feel so bloated and tender and heavy, can't wait to get back to normal! Though I suppose 2 sluggish days out of 1.5 weeks isn't too bad so I shouldn't complain.

@4thcyclelucky welcome :) hopefully a smooth run for you this time!

GabbyGal · 18/10/2023 15:55

@Melisss Yes I have found the injections fine, a bit of bloating and have felt heaviness in my abdomen at times (@biscuitsndtea) but aside from that I feel normal. I feel like I’ve got off very lightly so far so hoping I’m not in for a shock in the next stage!

Just got the call that we’ll be doing egg collection on Friday so have to do my trigger shots (otrivelle and buserelin) tonight, hopefully will feel ok after those. I’ve been really calm so far but feeling very nervous now!

GabbyGal · 18/10/2023 15:58

@IVFDublin we posted at the same time! Yes I’m all set for egg collection on Friday, are you in tomorrow? Have you only felt rough since the trigger shots? I’ll be prepared for that tomorrow so, the one day this week I have to go into the office unfortunately!

IVFDublin · 18/10/2023 16:04

@GabbyGal your cycle sounds almost identical to mine - I was grand throughout, and took my Ovitrelle and Buserlin triggers last night, so only a day or two in the difference!

I started my stims on the 7th, and it was only really yesterday I started feeling tender / heavy... but before the trigger shot! The triggers were totally fine - so nothing to worry about there. And I'm actually grand - I was in the office yesterday, I wore slightly looser clothes so that I wouldn't be uncomfortable, but it was absolutely fine.

It's also probably in my head - I know the follicles are bigger, so probably a bit of a mental game as to whether I am actually feeling anything or not!

MoonlightDreamer · 18/10/2023 16:26

@IVFDublin do you mind me asking have you any dublin clinic recommendations

IVFDublin · 18/10/2023 16:37

@MoonlightDreamer I'm with Merrion Fertility and have had a great experience with them - would definitely recommend them. I also know a few people who have gone through Merrion as well and enjoyed (and had success!)...

GabbyGal · 18/10/2023 17:35

@MoonlightDreamer I’m also with Merrion Fertility and my experience has been great too, can’t fault them so far. Are you in the Dublin area too?

@IVFDublin how funny, same clinic and almost the same cycle! Fingers crossed for us both 🤞

Lauralozzle · 18/10/2023 18:10

@KI19 Good luck for your scan tomorrow! Hopefully your lining is there! 🤞

@Babyplease23 I’m glad your scan went well. Hopefully your post norethisterone period will be quick. Mine was HEAVY but mostly done in 3 days! Sunday will be here before you know it!

@4thcyclelucky Good luck! Welcome 🤗 I don’t have much to add - our fertilisation rates are rubbish, not that much better with proxeed, zymot chip and AOA. But, out of our fertilised eggs last round, we have a 75% blast rate which I was happy with. I think maybe sometimes the attrition (for me anyway) happens at the fertilisation stage and not do much at the day 3-5 stage. But we’ll never end up with many blasts!

@biscuitsndtea Its totally normal to feel uncomfortable.

Thanks @Lauralozzle hope you get on ok with the bum bullet today!

marshk · 18/10/2023 18:46

Gosh there are so many of us in this group - I'm finding it hard to keep up! Hope you're all ok though and battling on

I'm on day 6 of stims today - starting to feel a bit bloated and tiny bit uncomfortable now. I'm presuming that's normal?

ThinkPink37 · 18/10/2023 19:20

Hello!

I’m a first time IVFer. I had my son naturally at 22…fast forward 15 years, a new relationship and 1xectopic and 2CPs and I’m here.

I’m currently on cycle day 6 and have been on 300ui of Monpur. I’m about to have my scan tomorrow to see if I should begin taking Cetrotide.

Good luck to you all!

IVFKinster · 18/10/2023 19:28

Hello to everyone I've not said hello to! 😊

Welcome @ThinkPink37 !

@marshk yeah I'd say that sounds normal. Bloating definitely. Hopefully there's no pain or anything and it's just an uncomfortable awareness of your ovaries? That's how I'd describe it anyway!

Progesterone starts for me tomorrow! @Lauralozzle hope you've gotten on okay with yours today.

@IVFKinster - yeah no pain just like a weird feeling of fullness and may be overthinking but my v lower tummy just looks puffy for want of a better word!

IVFKinster · 18/10/2023 19:38

When is your next scan @marshk ? It does sound normal and unfortunately that puffy bloaty feeling might get worse as you go on!

@IVFKinster I haven't had one yet - my first one will be on Friday which will be day 8. Looking forward to seeing how things are going!

IVFKinster · 18/10/2023 19:44

@marshk I didn't think you had but who can keep up with these things 😂 not long to go! Clearly the meds are doing something for you with those symptoms. I look forward to hearing how it goes 🤞🤞

Absolutely not me - can't keep up at all 😂 @IVFKinster

IVFDublin · 18/10/2023 22:01

@IVFKinster @marshk glad it’s not just me😂as soon as I’ve written a reply I realised I’ve missed out loads! So apologies to anyone I have accidentally ignored / left out 😵‍💫

Hello to everyone new and also good luck across the board over the next few days to everyone 🍀

Lauralozzle · 19/10/2023 08:00

@GabbyGal Thanks, yes I got on with the bum bullets fine!

@marshk The fullness is completely normal. I was very aware of my ovary as I reached the second week of stims!

@ThinkPink37 Welcome! There are quite a few of us here at 5/6/7 days of stims! You’re in good company.

@IVFKinster Good luck with the progesterone today. We’re so close! Nearly there!

Hi @ThinkPink37 - also a first time IVFer and on day 7 too. Hope scan goes well. I've got my first scan tomorrow

MoonlightDreamer · 19/10/2023 11:42

@ThinkPink37 good luck with your scan tomorrow. I'm also doing ivf for the first time . Never thought I'd be doing my first ivf cycle at the far end of 37!
I'm currently day 8 of stims

ThinkPink37 · 19/10/2023 12:45

It’s lovely to hear from people in a similar situation!

My scan this morning found 19 follicles with the largest being 15.5mm and uterine lining of 11mm.

Lots of positives but I’m now very worried about OHSS and needing a FET cycle.

My trigger shot is now booked for Monday 23rd.

Good luck to all of you xx

GabbyGal · 19/10/2023 13:05

@MoonlightDreamer I just turned 39 and doing my first round! Certainly wasn’t on my bucket list but here we are! I feel very privileged to be in a position to do IVF at all, I wouldn’t qualify for the new public IVF. When is your next scan? I only needed 9 days of stims, egg collection is tomorrow.

@ThinkPink37 that’s a great number of follicles, I think!

Did my trigger shots last night and feel totally normal today! Bloating and heavy feeling is gone, is that normal? It’s freaking me out a bit!
