@girljulian I know what you mean!!

I had some spotting at 12 weeks, and off I went to the EPU... Turns out I have a friable cervix. Now... what irritated it? No one knows. I had already stopped the pessaries as well!

It hasnt bled since, and I was told not to worry if it happened again if it wasnt actual proper blood. Baby was jumping around like a maniac, so clearly fine!

kirstysmbc · 05/10/2023 21:37

@GCS34 I tested on day 5 for my fresh transfer, day 4 for my two FET. Had faint positives on all three by day 5. Unfortunately wasn't a good outcome on two of those.

I'll have transfer in about day 19 of my next cycle, so maybe early November, but who knows!

@girljulian Glad there's a harmless reason for the bleeding and that they scanned you early. Doesn't make the wait any easier, I'm sure, but glad things are looking right where they should be.

Lolly2507 · 06/10/2023 11:14

Morning everyone, happy Friday!

I just wondered if anyone has had any experience of issues with their cervix? Not sure if it's caused by me not having a baby yet or my retroverted uterus but I've had some pretty horrible experiences in the past with procedures on my cervix and I can't find anyone with similar experience

When I had a coil fitted and when I had my hycosy they really really struggled to get into my cervix and almost gave up

Now im worried that'll happen on my embryo transfer day because ofc my brain has to find something to panic about at every stage!

Anyone aware of anything similar and recommend what I could do? I've seen some people specifically requested to be sedated which I'd rather avoid and some people had failed transfers 🥲 any positive experiences or advice welcome!

Hi, no advice really but just wanted to say I’ve got a retroverted uterus and sometimes people have struggled even to do a smear test on me, but my transfers have all gone fine.

@Lolly2507 Hey you! Oh bless you that sounds horrendous. Sorry to hear you've had issues. I haven't had issues as such, but I have had the LLETZ procedure done in December, and have had polyps removed, so I have what I Thought was a 'fucked cervix'. However in transfer, I think all the procedures I've had over the past year, I felt nothing!

What I know they can do is to a mock transfer. That's to check how they are going to tackle the ET on transfer day, and make sure they know what they're working with so they can plan. I know all clinics offer it, so perhaps speak to them?

@kirstysmbc Sorry you had two false starts. Which one was your daughter out of interest? And not long at all - 6 weeks! Do you know your protocol yet?

@girljulian That's great that they were able to get you in sooner to reassure you. And has it? I would say that's a resounding success to me. Question! Your original viability was for Monday, so would they not have been able to detect a heart beat in that appointment then? Seems like that would have been a pointless apt otherwise?
Re the bleeding - my sister I mentioned had the same thing. Implantation bleeding that went on for about 2 weeks from about 5 weeks, and she's due in december, but I appreciate that doesn't help!! Hope you're okay xx

@GCS34 The consultant said it’s 50/50 whether you can see a heartbeat and foetal pole at 6weeks, but he would have expected it would be more likely at 6w4d than at just 6 weeks. He also didn’t know how my adeno was going to go, and apparently it makes the picture really fuzzy. So, it’s all a bit irritating but basically he said that’s why sometimes early scans are more worrying than reassuring. But in 2 weeks it should all be clearer.

kirstysmbc · 06/10/2023 14:50

@GCS34 My daughter was my second transfer - fresh ended in miscarriage at 8 weeks, first fet was my daughter, second fet (first sibling attempt) ended in miscarriage at 6 weeks.

This protocol is the same as last two, oestrogen patches every other day from day 2 (1 patch for first week, 2 after that), ganerelix for seven days from day 2, then 2 cyclogest and 1 lubion a day once lining is thick enough.

How are you getting on with your 2ww? Well done for waiting to test!!

@kirstysmbc Ahhh I see. Did you say this is the last shot with that donor? And am I right in that you don't have to stim again as you have one on ice? Or have I got that wrapped round my head? Are you functionally okay, it's just the male partner situation that you're having IVF? Or do you have some female challenges too? Sorry all the Questions!

BTW on the patches - I've managed to get them to stick better now. I think I was sticking them on a less 'flat' area, so they were over a muscle on my leg, so since I've gone a bit lower, they're not coming off at all!

Meh, lost hope but you know how it is. Genuinely don't think it has worked, and that isn't me saying it for self preservation. But I dunno - we'll see on Tuesday. And yeah haha everyone is different, but for me testing early seems completely pointless as you'll end up adding a bunch of extra anxiety thinking 'is it really positive' or 'maybe it's negative as it's early, Ill test again, and again, and again....' and I Think I'd just rather have a clear yes or no, rather than dragging out the torture.

Hi all - I've been quite quiet on here recently as I was worried about my FET. But I had the transfer today. I've been super teary all day and cried before, during and after the transfer! I'm feeling really down about it but have no reason to be feeling like this. I think I'm just really overwhelmed. Anyone else feel like this after their transfer?

ARM23 · 06/10/2023 20:44

@GCS34 im also trying to hold off on testing. I don’t really feel any different.

@Jellyfish1956 I felt very down after too, it’s a huge thing so understandable to find it a bit overwhelming. I was teary before and after.

Im trying not to think about it too much…very hard tho

@ARM23 what dpt are you? When is your official test day?

@Jellyfish1956 congrats on transfer day! 🤍 it’s super overwhelming and also the drugs will be exacerbating the feelings too. It’s also a lot riding on it. You out so much energy into building a lining, drugs, stress - you put so much pressure on it it’s very overwhelming. Remind me is this your first FET?

@GCS34 This is my last shot, full stop. After I failed to get any embryos in my fresh cycle, I don't think it is worth trying again, and I don't think I can afford it anyway. My biggest issue now is age, I turned 43 this year, so my egg quality is awful.

Good news on the patches, fingers crossed you'll need them for a long time to come.

@Jellyfish1956 congrats on your transfer, and as the others have said, super normal to have feelings all over the place. So many hormones and e we all put so much emotionally in to each cycle too. I hope you can find something to keep your mind as calm as possible for the next two weeks. I found IVF meditation really helped.

ARM23 · 07/10/2023 08:12

@GCS34 exactly…I’m just not going to buy any tests until next Friday, that way I won’t be tempted to do it early.

@Jellyfish1956 are you feeling a little better this morning?

Jellyfish1956 · 07/10/2023 10:01

Thanks so much for your kind words and encouragement @ARM23 @GCS34 @kirstysmbc it's so helpful to speak to people that understand.

I am feeling a little better today thanks. Had some awful pain yesterday after the transfer for about 45 minutes. I couldn't get up off the sofa! But all seems to be ok now.

This is my second FET @GCS34. Fist one last month didn't work.

How are you all today?

Lolly2507 · 07/10/2023 10:28

@Jellyfish1956 it's so so normal and as @GCS34 said all these extra hormones in our bodies don't help either!

Thanks everyone for the advice about the mock transfer I've asked my clinic about it and we will discuss it at my scan next week

@kirstysmbc ah yes. I am sorry for asking again - so hard to keep up with everyone’s journeys + your own. This is a FET isn’t it? And how old were you when it was frozen?

@ARM23 hhaha good idea! I have 2 x CBs in a zipped meds bag, that is inside another bag, that is hid in the house by my husband 😂😂

@Lolly2507 I’m not sure if you’re funded or not, but I’ve just checked my clinics price list and a mock is £300, just fyi.

im losing faith by the minute. Sorry to be a pessimist but I just don’t feel a thing. And I don’t feel pregnant (whatever that feels like as I’ve no idea 😂😂)

@ARM23 and @GCS34 i felt absolutely no different at all, it really doesn’t mean anything! Hopeful for you both.

kirstysmbc · 08/10/2023 09:23

@GCS34 Yep, frozen transfer. They were frozen when I was 40, so no spring chicken then either.

@Jellyfish1956 @ARM23 @GCS34 How are all you ladies in your 2ww doing? How much longer is it until OTD?

@kirstysmbc I got there eventually 😂 knew you had a frozen but couldn’t remember one and ours. Apologies. 40 isn’t old tho and is the same ‘batch’ as your daughter right?

otd is Tuesday so not long. And prepared for negative news. And that’s not ‘Self preservation’ either, Just vibes I’m getting. I’m taking @MrsMotts mentality though and going to be picking myself up and cracking straight back on. You’ve been inspiring @MrsMotts 🤍 xx

kirstysmbc · 08/10/2023 10:45

@GCS34 Yep, same cycle as my daughter. But not expecting much as most embryos will be abnormal by 40, so she might have been the only good one. Finally got a positive on my opk today, so hopefully period will arrive in two weeks.

Not long at all now until otd, and lack of symptoms really doesn't mean anything. Most people don't know they are pregnant until they miss a period, so don't count yourself out yet. I think pregnancy symptoms are mostly caused by hcg, and it just won't be high enough yet. I'm staying positive got you 😊

21C · 08/10/2023 13:59

How are my fellow 2ww-ers? @GCS34 @ARM23? I am 6dp5dt (frozen) and cannot shake the feeling it hasn’t worked. i don’t feel any different other than being knackered all the time and what I would describe as ovulation pains on both sides that I’ve had since 2/3dpt but putting those down to the 2 cyclogest pessaries a day I’m taking. Same as you @GCS34 I don’t feel pregnant at all but also have no idea what that would even feel like!! 4 days to go before OTD and part of me would just rather get it over with and know.

@21C well done on not testing!! I know what you mean im just really … despondent I’d say is the best word! Ans yes I too am feeling nada. Surely one of us 3 october testers have to be - based on the stats of 3 x transfers is approx 98% success rate, one of us should 😂🙈- I’d be happy for any of us. Is otd Thursday for you? How are you finding the progesterone now?

@kirstysmbc oh no I don’t think that 😓 it’s hard not to though. Did you have this tested or not? It’s so hard isn’t it. Does your daughter still engage with it? And have you started the books yet? So much luck for you. And thank you. Funny the anxiety was super bad thurs - yesterday, whereas today I’m actually less anxious - maybe it’s the reality of it being soon is a bit like oh right it’s here nearly okay now what? 😂

also think we spoke about this before, but I’m a frequent wee’er in the night. Often I wake around 4am then 7am ish. Which shall I use as not sure at 4am I am ready to have my world rocked! But equally want my FMU.

OP posts:
kirstysmbc · 08/10/2023 16:55

@GCS34 No, not tested. My consultant didn't recommend thawing, testing and refreezing as it can lead to more damage to the embryo. My daughter loves her book and we read it before nap today 😊

Glad you're feeling a bit better today. Re testing, you can always pee in a pot at 4 and then do the test at 7? I've done that before as was always up for an early wee, but was usually too impatient and wanted to test as soon as I'm up, even if it's only 4am.
