@GCS34 hi! Haha dean was meant to say fresh transfers, typo sorry!!

ok I’m glad you’ve said that it’s more than likely the meds, will stop me reading into anything too much!!

so my clinic doesn’t offer progesterone support when it comes to fresh transfers/natural frozen transfers if you don’t have any issues with your periods - they say that your body should produce enough progesterone by itself. This frozen transfer was natural/non medicated for me so just had surge confirmed by a blood test then 6 days later had embryo thaws and transferred! I had to really push for the progesterone support (even though I’m paying for it) as they are against providing it for reason above. I just think my other two fresh transfers didn’t take so want to at least try the extra progesterone this time. Both embryos were low quality (C grades) but still!

this was our only frozen embryo from 2 rounds of ICSI this year, really poor fertilisation rates from both times :( initially we needed ICSI due to male factor but looks like my egg quality isn’t great either (just turned 34 no other issues so was a bit of a shock to me)

Welcome @21C and good luck!

I am well thanks @GCS34, feeling very energetic and productive.

I think a lot of us are currently waiting to get going so you are a bit alone bless you @GCS34.

@girljulian I defo think increased peeing is a good sign! What time are you in on Monday?
I've lost hope for OTD. Anyone else in the TWW with me? Feel like everyones in a lul at the moment and i'm TWW riding solo! i think Anxiety is normal. Have you got this far previously? X

Hey, you know I had zero symptoms before my very strong positive so don’t lose hope! This is the first time I’ve got this far. I’ve been super nauseous all day today.

@girljulian did you have literally zero in your TWW then? I haven’t got any faith but, I’ve sat and worked out when I’d be able to get my next transfer and likely late November, so hopefully get another shot pre Xmas.

how are you feeling with the sickness? Have you been sick or Jusy feel it? And what time Monday? 🤞🤍

@Hopingforno2in2023 haha I love how stereotypical hormones are - men’s ones make you energetic, women’s ones make you cry 😂 when do you start down regs and stims?

@21c haha that’s okay then thought I had missed out on some special dean transferring! Yeah I agree on pushing for progesterone. I’m pleased you stood your ground. Tbh I’ve not heard of anyone not having progesterone support even if they have regular cycles / natural FET. Fingers crossed this is the linch pin to make it stick. What clinic you at? And you’re talking to the best group for grading - we’re all advocates of them meaning FA and Just a beauty contest so wouldn’t even worry. Grade As fail and grade Cs make healthy babies. So don’t fret 🤍

Zero! My heart rate went up a little bit, but I only know that because I was looking at my FitBit. I had diarrhoea the day before test but now I don't think that really was a symptom because I haven't had it since. So basically, I had no symptoms at all until I tested positive at 15dp5dt.

Since then, I've had nausea, weird chemical taste in my mouth, and increased need to pee. The nausea comes on randomly throughout the day but it's been much worse today than previously. I actually thought I might throw up this afternoon -- but I didn't.

Scan is at 6.30 on Monday!

ARM23 · 04/10/2023 06:57

@GCS34 @21C Im in the TWW…transfer was yesterday.
It was incredibly stressful as the 1st embryo (A grade and genetically normal) didn’t survive the thawing process. They thawed another and I am 1dp5dt, but I’m feeling pretty negative and very anxious. Just can’t seem to shift this sad feeling. I have bought a paint by numbers (covid flashback) and a new book to try to not obsess over it.

Hopingforno2in2023 · 04/10/2023 07:57

I’m not doing down regs @GCS34, the clinic work with my natural cycle so should start stims some time around 21-22 Oct, all depends on when AF arrives. I need to call them again today, have left two messages now asking them to put in the order for my meds but have heard nothing.

My pregnancy with DS my only symptom during TWW was elevated heart rate @girljulian

Hey @ARM23 yay!! Welcome to the really shit, totally anxious, questioning everything (including the meaning of life 😂) TWW club! So sorry to here of Em#1 not making it 😓 did they imply why or ‘one of those things’ as they sometimes say!?

I too feel extremely hopeless and have zero faith in this working but we’ll see. How many others on ice do you have and are they all tested?

@Hopingforno2in2023 yes you did tell me this as it’s my hubs birthday when you’re due on. Sorry lovely. I can’t even blame baby brain AS I DONT HAVE ONE 😂🤍 I’m losing my mind slowly too 😅. interesting on no symptoms bar the heart rate - now meticulously going back through my garmin data over the past 7 days 😂

@girljulian that’s reassuring too. Basically the TWW is Just a really cruel torture technique to test how much you REALLY want to be parents 😂 the metal thing is a good sign (although minging I am sure!) and the nausea. I know that can only really start kicking in around 6 weeks which is bang on where you are!! 😬 6:30am or pm? Sending love.

The weird taste is horrible @girljulian, I still remember the relief I felt when DS was born and I realised it was gone.

girljulian · 04/10/2023 10:22

@GCS34 6.30 pm! Yes, I should be 6 weeks tomorrow. Last night the nausea was so bad I was lying awake with it, but still no actual vomiting!

@girljulian oh that's more enjoyable than 6:30am!! Hopefully a nice celebratory meal after 🤗Glad you've not been sick - hopefully that won't come. Not sure if being sick or feeling is worse.

@Hopingforno2in2023 How old is your son now? And was that natural or treatment? Sorry for all the personal questions.

Question for Everyone

Sounds stupid, but how do you test? Are you a pee on a stick person, or pee in a pot and dip the stick? Having never had a BFP, I really don't know if it makes a difference. haha

OP posts:
kirstysmbc · 04/10/2023 15:54

@GCS34 I always pee in a pot, so if a test is faulty or I am doing two different types of test, I can still test at the same time. I did one faulty test and then had to wait a whole day which was torture!!

@kirstysmbc Thanks! And yes I have done that previously with OPKs and Pregnancy tests, but having never had a positive on either, I thought maybe my technique was off!

Anyway how are you doing? x

OP posts:
MrsMotts · 04/10/2023 21:22

@GCS34 im a POAS person but I’m lazy 🤣

21C · 05/10/2023 12:06

@GCS34 @ARM23 how are my fellow 2 week waiters? I am 3dp5dt today and have zero symptoms whatsoever!! Had pulling and twinges on both sides 1dp5dt but aware this is more than likely the progesterone. Losing faith by the minute but really praying this sticks, we don’t have anymore on ice!!

these progesterone pessaries are also not the nicest to take are they! but worth it if it helps!!

21C · 05/10/2023 12:09

Also to add I’ve went full scale implantation myths/traditions; have a slice of pineapple including the core every morning, handful of nuts, glass of pomegranate juice and had the McDonald’s chips straight after. My husband thinks I’ve really gone mad haha

kirstysmbc · 05/10/2023 12:31

@GCS34 Got absolutely everything crossed for you that you get to see that positive this time round.

I'm fine, still waiting for any signs of ovulation. Now on cycle day 21 so very overdue... my clinic want me to go in on day 1/2 for a scan, so no idea when that will be right now...!

MrsMotts · 04/10/2023 21:22

@MrsMotts hahaha I pee A LOT, so I can guarantee I'd pee all over my hands, so I try the technique with the least wee shower!

@21C Hey! I don't think symptoms are significant of success (though try tell me that while I'm slowly losing my mind over here)! I spoke to my sister earlier, who has had 4 x rounds of IVF, and she said:

1 - loads of symptoms - Negative
2 - nothing at all - Positive
3 - loads of symptoms - Negative
4 - loads of symptoms - Positive

So hopefully that restores some faith, that even with the same person it isn't consistent. I am definitely leaning towards the negative - I don't know if that is just because I can't relate to a positive, so naturally my brain goes somewhere that is familiar and it has experienced before aka BFN, if that makes sense?
How old are you if you don't mind me asking? And did you say it is MF?

OP posts:
21C · 05/10/2023 12:38

@GCS34 wow that’s crazy from your sister! Just goes to show you doesn’t it! I’m exact same as you - never had a positive so can’t relate to anything other than negative. So difficult!

I've just turned 34, initially had to go for ICSI due to male factor (low motility and morphology) but after 2nd round they are now saying think my egg quality also isn’t great as we had big drop this round of 20 eggs, 13 being mature to only 2 fertilising.

@kirstysmbc thanks hun! The only positive or double line I've ever had is on a bloody COVID test 😅I hope you're right! As much as I talk the positive talk to everyone else, when it comes to me, it's all negative nancy vibes!

Are you usually more frequent than that? And is that a scan to check your ovaries? Won't you be bleeding?

OP posts:
kirstysmbc · 05/10/2023 13:36

@GCS34 I remember the trauma of a positive Covid test on day one of my last FET cycle. Never again please!!

Yep, my cycles before having my daughter were usually fairly regular, 28/29 days. The breastfeeding and treatment cycle after that made it much less regular, but this is still very unusual.

And yes, scan to check the ovaries and I will be bleeding, but that's often the case with baseline scans.

Are you planning on waiting until OTD? I an awful and always start testing at 4/5 dpt...

ASGIRC · 05/10/2023 14:52

@GCS34 definitely pee in a pot!!! Particularly if you have cheapie tests, as they are very eady to flood!

Also, I had zero symptoms in my tww. ZERO. And they continued to be zero until 6 weeks! I never wished for symptoms, but I wish they had remained zero!

@21C good luck on you TWW this time!!!

@kirstysmbc oh god yes! I totally forgot about that. What torture huh! Will NOT happen again - self isolate and get that embryo on board!!

That's crazy how much childbirth messes with hormones. Honestly it's a wonder anyone ever has a second child when you think about how long it takes bodies to recover. And thanks for the baseline scan info - having no periods, I cannot relate and always have random scan starts!

Yes I'm being good and holding out until OTD. I'm not sure it would do my anxiety and favours if I tested early as I would be second guessing the result, so I would rather just hold out in ignorance is bliss' mindset. Did you test 4/5 dpt every time? And, period dependent, when do you expect transfer?

@ASGIRC that's reassuring to know. I guess it's all irrelevant until next week anyway. I'll drive myself [more] insane if I try to find every person under the sun who has had no symptoms and positive test. Ultimately the decision has already been made.

@21C I missed your reply before - sorry! And yes it does, not that it helps haha.
Do you remember what your AMH was? I'm 34 too 😀As is @Lowo21 and a few others. Was your last transfer one of the 2 fertilised, or did you freeze the outcome of that round and that's what you've now transferred?

And yes, progesterone is....slippery 👀🐌

Update from me! I had some more spotting yesterday (actually, one single spot of blood) so I rang my consultant and he offered to scan me today, at 6 weeks exactly. Because I have adenomyosis and it’s still so early, he couldn’t see the foetus but he saw the yolk sac and gestational sac and said all was looking good. He also saw a small area of bleeding, like a bruise, from implantation, next to the sac. He said this was the cause of the spotting and would probably result in more spotting because it has to exit the uterus, and not to worry unless bleeding is heavy. Next scan in 2 weeks.

Why don’t people tell us about these things so we know not every spot of blood is a miscarriage??
